When she was sixteen, Violet Savoie's aunt predicted a true love for Violet. It is many decades later and the man hasn't turned up yet. However, two years ago she had a really hot night with werewolf Nico Cruz. But it was just the one night. He did find her later but they ended up having a pretty good friendship and what promises to be a heck of a good business partnership once the tattoo parlor opens. And especially once Violet perfects the spells that she wants to weave into the tattoos she gives to supernaturals.
Nico has a plan too. He wants Violet to be his forever. If she can figure out how to help him tame his wolf, even better. But he's not the only one interested in the respite Violet's magic might bring and his past may come back to haunt both he and Violet.
The ending was a bit odd. It was set up to be a big fight and... well. Hm. I liked the second book in the series better but I think regular readers won't be disappointed.

When I first read my first book in this series, I thought it was going to be corny and silly. I wasn't prepared for how funny it would be, but it wasn't corny. It is a story full of magic and adventure and I loved getting to know Violet and Nico and how they were inevitable and meant to be.

The Savoie sisters are awesome. They each have their own magic and stories and with each book I understand their family and the groups of supernatural creatures in New Orleans a little better. I love the world building in this series, but you definitely don't have to read all of them to get the story of the sisters or the supernatural world.

I loved this sequel! Paranormal romances are written so well by Ms. Cross! She does an excellent job combining humor AND romance. Normally, I'm not a huge paranormal fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed this!

Juliette Cross has such a refreshing, smart and sharp way of storytelling that just hooks me to the story from the very first chapter. And I didn't stop till the last line! Amazing characters with multiple shades of awesomeness and depth. Incredible feels with slow burn torture and exciting chemistry. An assortment of colourful, quirky and all round wonderful supernaturals. Brilliant perfection.

Violet Savoie has decided that she cannot be in a relationship with Nico Cruz. Not because she is a witch and Nico is a werewolf. Not because they are business partners in her tattoo shop The Empress.Because she did a Divination for herself and the cards showed heartbreak and destruction. But how can the cards be right when their connection feels so fitting? Will it take a bunch of rogue werewolves to bring out their true feels?

I love every single Savoie sister and Violet may be my favourite. She is loud and forward and open minded. Her personality is bright like her hair colours. She also carries intense compassion and a zeal for righteousness. Something that drove her to design enchanted tattoes for werewolves. To help them to control the beast that is often painful. And of course Nico is one of her motivations. Now Nico is the perfect balance of sweet and hard. His wolf side makes him jealous, over possessive and over protective alpha and my heart was swooning so hard. He feels guilty and ashamed for his uncontrolled animal side but that very sides makes him want to claim and own Violet. He is also so caring and sweet and just so amazing. Can you hear my sighs and see my heart eyes? I guess not! But I can assure you that Nico is the ultimate brooding stunning swoonworthy alpha. Now he was patient and chased Violet silently with his gestures till Violet has to give in. Their chemistry was incredible. So sinful! And their love was palpable in every page. Violet feels for Nico's angst and Nico help her soar. This story brings the whole crew of this world and I love their vibes so much!

Witches Got Stitches by Juliette Cross brings an imaginary world to life with such vividness that I feel completely connected and in sync with them. Get ready for a witty, steamy and epic romance.

I love this series so much.

In the third installment of Juliette Cross's Stay a Spell series, which focuses on a family of witch sisters living among the supernatural community of New Orleans, we're following tattoo artist, new business owner, and prickly psychic witch Violet, who's fighting feelings for werewolf musician Nico despite a past hookup since her psychic readings show that a relationship between them isn't in the cards. Along the way, we get plenty of appearances from Violet's sisters (and hints of relationships to be focused on in future books) as well as their sweet, supportive family dynamics; drama and adventures among New Orleans' various species of supernaturals; and watch Violet develop a new type of spell related to her tattoo artist skills.

The romance in this story is fantastic; it rivals the first book in the series, Wolf Gone Wild, for my current favorite. I loved Violet and Nico together but at the same time could very much understand Violet's hesitance to get involved with him due to her ominous tarot card reading about their relationship. I can't wait for the next books in this series!

I received an eARC of Witches Get Stitches from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

OH myyyy goodness! Gimme all the werewolf, brooding, intense tension! I am here for it!

I've just been patiently waiting on Violet's story to see why she is so anti- Nico! Who can possibly be anti Nico. He's gorgeous, covered in tattoos and plays the guitar. Just take my heart my panties all of it!

I absolutely loved that we got to see what happened when these two first met and then get to live in the denial and want with both of them. Good Lord Violet we are all miserable. Violet has been looking for her one and after a disastrously bad card reading on her self she deems Nico is not the one. She sees it ending badly and they've just gone into business together.

You will just jump and thank whoever you pray to once Violet figures it all out. But Nico's past has come lurking and might bring the disaster Violet saw in her cards. We've known that Violet is a force of a Savoie sister but you will really love her and the way she stands up against injustice and tries to fix centuries of ignorance.

Such a swoony HEA for these two and I loved it! Can't wait for more of this series.

Rating: 4.8/5
eARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This book is the third in the Stay a Spell series and this story is about Violet and Nico.

Violet, a powerful Seer and a witch, Nico a dashingly handsome werewolf, both spend two years playing a dancing game with their hearts. Nico knows what he wants and that is Violet, however all Violet knows is that she wants to run her own tattoo shop and help other supernaturals with her spelled tattoos. However, that is fine because Nico is in this for the long run, he knows how special Violet is to him even if she can’t see it right away.

I didn’t read the other 2 books of this series, but I loved that I really didn’t have to in order to understand what was happening with this book. I loved that if you chose to read just this book or the other two you would be able to, but honestly if you did just read one you will most likely fall in love with Juliette Cross writing style.
I just love that the setting was in New Orleans and when reading you can picture what it looks like exactly. Character development throughout the book, you get to watch Violet sassy, spunky, takes nothing from no one attitude. To understand her softer side and to trust her instincts more, no worries she is still a hellcat like no other. With Nico you get a better understanding of who he is and what happened in his life that helped guild him.

This book DEFINITELY has a lot of HEAT & STEAM; it will leave you saying wow! However, you also get a wonderful story/plot with friendship and romance, which is what really made me love this book was not all about heat & steam.
I loved how the author brought together all different kinds of supernaturals and had them working together to fix a wrong done by witches to werewolves.

FRED- is the best. I love that zombie pet chicken!

The only reason I am giving the book 4.8/5 is because I thought the book was a little long and the plot event with Shane was not what I expected it to be. I was a little let down about how fast it was concluded, I pictured(from the synopsis) that it would be more wow and happen sooner than it did.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me the chance to read this book for my honest review, and Juliette Cross thank you for writing a great series of paranormal romance. I cannot wait to read the first 2.

Witches Get Stitches is the third book in the Stay A Spell series, following the romantic entanglements of a family of witches in New Orleans. You don’t have to have read the other two books in the series to really enjoy Violet and Nico’s story, it could be read as a standalone. Personally, I liked having the background of the other two sisters' love stories and family dynamics going into this one.

Evie is a foreseer and sure she’d love to find love, but she has lived a very free-spirited love them and leave them kind of life since she has ‘seen’ none of those men were the one. Better not to get too invested or too attached.

Nico on the other hand is a werewolf who knew Evie was the one the first night they met, fooled around a little and she took off thinking she’d never see him again. He tracked her down only to be friend zoned. But Nico is a patient hunter and he has played it cool for a few years to get his life together, but now it is time to turn up the heat on the woman he knows is his.

Evie and Nico have great banter, a love of limericks, a very cool friendship and new business venture. The sexual tension and chemistry between them is intense and everyone around them knows they need to just hook up and get it over with. Evie on the other hand, might be a seer but she is absolutely blind to what is in front of her. It would be a bad idea to hook up with her business partner…right? She can’t seem to remember why she is trying to keep them apart.

***“Because you two have been circling each other for forever. The amount of pheromones you’ve both been putting off could impregnate a nunnery.”
“Should I be worried that you think people can get pregnant from pheromones?”***

There are a few other things happening in the background. Evie is working out how to put spells into her tattoo work and one might just be able to help Nico get better control on his wolf. The only problem, word has gotten out and there are some other wolves in town from Nico’s past who want Evie for themselves.

This has been a really fun series so far. Each witch sister is blessed with different powers and all of them work to help rule the paranormals of New Orleans. They have a few interesting pets, including a chicken who likes to wear bowties and a cat that should have died years ago. There is also a different paranormal player I can’t wait to get more details on. Grims seem to have some pretty interesting abilities and I’m hoping the next book gives us a little more insight into their capabilities.

This is an interesting world with some very fun love stories and a family of witches I love hanging out with.

“There once was a werewolf from Kent, whose cock was so long it bent. So he found him a witch, to scratch his big itch, and with a great howl, he spent.”

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

Isn’t it a delight when leads hook up early in the romance & the author still manages to maintain a good level of will they or won’t they (of course they will!)?! That’s what happens in Witches Get Stitches, Juliette Cross’s upcoming offering in her Stay a Spell series.

Violet Savoie is a Divine Seer & tattoo artist & Nico Cruz is her business partner & also the sexy singer werewolf she hooked up with almost two years earlier.

But Violet’s read her cards which seem to forecast a not so happy ending for them. Despite the high level of attraction that rages between them, she doesn’t want to pursue it—even if a big part of her does in fact want to pursue it.

This book has so much of JC’s delicious trademarks: sexy sexy interactions between leads—you can feel how much they want each other. Sweetness—Nico wants Violet so bad & it’s actually painful for him even as she feels like home. Cool worldbuilding. A lovely set of ensemble characters w/ some suspense built up for future books.

This series has been such an enjoyable ride & I really luxuriate in the steamy world the author offers. Though I didn’t totally appreciate one of Nico’s try-to-make-Violet-interested strategies, Witches Get Stitches is a fun, hot installment & I can’t wait to read more.

4 ⭐️. Release date: 07/20.

Juliette Cross managed to write an amazing paranormal romance between a witch and a werewolf while also including topics of racism and prejudices. I'm so grateful to have received this arc.
The werewolves were cursed centuries ago by a witch resulting in wolves being violent and hostile. It also caused the entire supernatural world to treat them as lesser beings for centuries. No witch has ever thought to help the wolves control their instincts until Violet met Nico.
I adored this book. Nico is an alpha yet such a cinnamon roll. Violet has been denying her feelings towards him for two years and he's never given up on her. Violet and Nico have partnered up in owning a tattoo shop. Violet is a tattoo artist and due to her feelings for Nico, she has a vision on how to help him and possibly all werewolves. I loved both of them, this world, the writing style, the characters and returning characters and I love how the author talked about race without necessarily being preachy. It was a great way to incorporate race and I'm happy she did it.

Witches Get Stitches is the third book in Stay a Spell paranormal romance series about witch sisters from New Orleans. Each has a special ability, but they have to keep them secret from humans, along with other supernatural creatures, vampires, werewolves, and grims. I liked the first two books and was eager to read this too when I received it from NetGalley.

Violet is a psychic and a tattoo artist. Nico is a werewolf singer who moves to New Orleans after a brief encounter with her, because his wolf declares she’s his mate. But she’s done a reading of their relationship and the cards predict doom, so she keeps him firmly in a friendzone.

This was a very uncomplicated romance. Both Violet and Nico were mature people who knew who they are, so there was no inner conflict with either of them. Nico’s trouble with his more violent urges was more a thing of his past, really, though a great deal was made of it. There were no large issues keeping the two apart, other than stubbornness, so no conflict there either. And what little outer pressure there was, happened so late in the book, that it didn’t affect the romance either. Basically the two simply acknowledged that they should be a pair and became one. It still managed to be an enjoyable process, and I have no complaints.

Apart from the romance, the book didn’t have much of a plot. There was a lot going on with the other sisters, but sort of in the side-lines, setting up future stories. It was fine as it was, but I wished the sisters would’ve been introduced a bit better. Even though this is the third book, I had trouble remembering who was who, or how many of them there were even.

Other than that, I found the story enjoyable, and will gladly read the rest of the series too when the books come out.

2.5 magical little stars

Nothing sucks more than not enjoying a series that comes so highly recommended. And what's worse is part of me isn't sure why, the writing just doesn't engage me. That said I did not hate this book, I actually enjoyed some of it (it just took until after I was halfway through).

This supernatural world is really interesting - because of the grims. We don't know what they are, nobody does. They're dark and mysterious yet know everything about everyone and everything and oh my I want to know more about them. I'm 90% confident the next two books will be about grims and I'm so intrigued.

It's not a good sign to me when I find the side characters more interesting than the main ones but hear me out: Clara. This girl is so precious. Nature speaks to her so she named the trees outside Violet's shop and knitted them jumpers so they won't get cold!?! I defy you not to love her. If Henry The Grim doesn't wrap her in bubble wrap and present the whole world to her on a platter I'm going to cry.

The rest of the book though... I just found really dull. Especially the first 50%. Literally nothing is happening, no romance, no plot. And when the romance did I happen it annoyed me so much. Violet and Nico meet two years earlier and he just KNOWS this girl is his mate but is happy to not make a move while she continues living her life, flirting and sleeping with other men? I just found that unbelievable (particularly given how territorial he later is). I also didn't like that the two are essentially already in love in this book, just in denial. It was so frustrating and because you don't see that process, are just waiting for them to admit it, I didn't believe in it.

The 'action' at the end of the book was so anticlimactic and caused me to leave the book feeling really disappointed. Particularly as I'd been hoping for a strong ending to redeem the book for me, make all the effort I put into reading this book worth it. Alas.

The writing is definitely awkward at times and made it so hard for me to get into the story or connect to the characters at all. Sometimes it was really clunky; I read one sentence about four times to try and makes sense of it before deciding it's problem was that it seemed to start in present tense and then end in past tense, so it just didn't make sense.

I don't think Juliette Cross has the power to disappoint me. And that sunnies, is a great thing. There is nothing better than going into a book knowing with absolute certainty that you will love it.
Book 3 in the Stay a Spell series was just as charming, mesmerizing, romantic, and steamy as the previous books. Is it my favorite of the 3? Close, very close, but no. Mateo my man still tops the cake. And his appearances in this book just fermented that. I loved how many glimpses we got of him and the grims. Their books cannot come soon enough. I know you are all waiting for Jules' book. Well, I'm waiting for my grims, and I sure hope they have a darker edge to them. All that being said, if you are new to this series go ahead! This can easily be read as a stand alone. I would recommend you read them all, but I am obsessed with Juliette Cross...

Violet was...interesting. During the first 40% of the book I wanted to bring her out of the pages and punch her for being blind and stubborn. But once she realizes she is being stupid she is pretty good about admitting it and becomes a very likable character. My least favorite of the sisters so far (sorry Juliette) but a nice, lovable character nonetheless.

Now, Nico was a force of nature. The only reason I prefer Mateo to him is that Mateo's inner wolf has my heart.

So, how to describe Nico?

A Sequoia. Yes, you read that correct. A Sequoia.

Unique in size and character, strong in presence and in essence, silent and noble, unmoving but not unchanging, patient, enduring...

That my friends, is Nico. He was always there. Silently and patiently waiting for silly Violet. With a presence larger than life but also unchanging and enduring in his feelings and of all her rejections. A Sequoia. An odd comparison to some, but one that makes perfect sense to me. Because let's also add to the list, and that also applies to both Nico and the Sequoia: beautiful, stunning, majestic! :)

Not a 5, cause slow burn isn't my thing and Violet took forever. But a solid 4.5 out of 5!

Fabulous as always.

I am so in love with the Savoie Sisters and their charming world. Juliette Cross has crafted a world where the paranormal exist in a world much like our own. Cross' tone is light and fun which creates a beautiful paranormal world that feels realistic and natural. Cross' writing is well paced, fun and funny, accessible and very engaging. She has a way of crafting characters that feel true and compelling, I wish I was friends with each and every one of them.

Violet-the heroine, is a witch who is a seer. Nico, the hero, is a werewolf and has been in love with Violet since the moment they met a few years ago. Violet has been fighting her feelings for Nico because she is scared that she and Nico will cause each other true heart break. Their love story is absolutely charming. They both have entered into a partnership in order for Violet to open her own tattoo parlor, which is her dream. I love that Nico is patient and persistent, he knows what he wants and he will wait for Violet because she is his fated mate. Watching Violet's jealousy grow as she starts to better understand her feelings, and her visions of the future, is so much fun. Once she realizes that her readings for herself have been misinterpreted, I loved watching her become a bit unsure and cautious to how she approaches and responds to Nico.

Violet and Nico are such a great match, I loved how they supported each other and where aware of the other. I love that they learn how to communicate with each other and trust each other. I love that they both are aware that each person is independent and strong on their own but that together they are a force to recon with and can bring out the best in the other. I love that Violet has such a pure and kind heart that her love for Nico helps her realize how she wants to right the wrongs of her ancestors have done to the werewolves.

I would highly recommend this novel and its companions. Juliette Cross has crafted a series that I absolutely love and am anticipating the future novels in this world. This paranormal romance is so entertaining and has such a delightful tone that is light, amusing and realistic. Definitely check these books out!

I am so in love with the Savoie sisters! Each of them are special in their own unique way making their stories far removed from anything resembling a cookie cutter romance.

Violet is a bit of the wild child with her tats and her talent to incorporate designing and inking tattoos with her magic. I loved the way she realized exactly how her tattoos were going to be used and couldn’t wait to see it all unfold. She was a slow mover when it came to Nico and I wanted to force her to see what was right in front of her. Her transition to that point was torturous for me almost as much as it was for Nico!

And oh my gosh, Nico!! Could there be a more dedicated hero? He knew when he saw her who and what she was but her own struggles had him on hold for years. The fact that he never wavered in his steadfastness to wait for her had me falling crazily in love with him. He also had all those wonderful alpha male tendencies that hook and reel me in every time. Loved him so hard!

While this deals with more relationship dilemma than outside drama, the angst level remains relatively low. There were moments when things get ramped up some and I couldn’t help but respond to the situation when Nico lost or was close to losing control. As a couple, they set a new standard for hot and steamy. I’m sure at one point I could see smoke coming from my kindle. They were fire together!

More is coming and I’m all in as we were given what I’m sure were glimpses of the initial set up for future books. Cannot wait!

Witches Get Stitches is the third book in the Stay a Spell series and it can easily be read as a standalone. Violet Savoie is a Seer who is opening a tattoo shop with the help of her friend and business partner, Nico Cruz, a werewolf. Violet has big plans for her tattooing career: she wants to design enchanted tattoos for supernaturals. Her current goal is to design enchanted tattoos for werewolves that will allow them to control their inner wolf. But tension rises when Nico's former pack comes into town and the pack members are very interested in Violet's enchanted tattoos.

I'm obsessed with this series and the cast of characters and I'm so happy we finally got Violet and Nico's HEA. We first met Violet and Nico in Wolf Gone Wild, but we actually get to experience the first time they met and what a first meeting!! 🔥 Violet and Nico had such great chemistry together and I loved their playful and flirty banter.

I especially love Violet's blunt nature. That girl takes no shit and I love her for it. But Violet is also afraid of the pull she feels toward Nico. As for Nico, he knew from the moment he laid eyes on Violet that she was his. So he's just been patient and is biding his time until Violet finally realizes that they're meant to be together. Nico and Violet have been dancing around each other for two years and the build up of tension is delicious. I cheered when they FINALLY got together 🔥🔥🔥

I really enjoyed Violet and Nico's love story and I loved losing myself in this world again. There are quite a few scenes with Mateo, Clara, Henry, Livvy, and of course, Alpha LOL. There are also some new characters who are introduced 👀 At this point, the remaining Savoie sisters have met their respective partners. Their stories have been set up already and I CANNOT wait for their HEA!!

I can't get enough of Juliette Cross' work. I adore this series with my whole heart - so much so that I had to buy myself physical copies so I can enjoy it again and again. I am so excited to have found a new author. The characters spoke to me and I felt connected to each one, maybe it's just because the sisters and I share a last name, but I felt so drawn to this series. If you're looking for a fun, quirky and steamy paranormal read, Witches Get Stitches has got you covered. The third book in the Stay a Spell series (following Wolf Gone Wild and Don't Hex and Drive) is a delightfully easy read that will give you plenty of warm-fuzzy feelings by the end. Definitely one I would read again.

So awesome!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💋💋💋💋💋
Heat/Steam: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 👨🏻👱🏻‍♀️🧔🏻👩🏻👱🏼‍♂️

The heroine: Violet Savoie - she is a powerful Seer and an apprentice tattoo artist who wants to open her own shop. She also has some other abilities like telekinesis. She is not a relationship kind of girl but still has been searching for “the one”

The Hero(es): Nico Cruz - he is a werewolf from the Blood Moon pack. He left his pack after they did some shady stuff. When he meets Violet in his hometown, he has an interlude with her and immediately knows she is his mate.

The Story: Violet doesn’t believe Nico is “the one” and her attraction to him scares her so she runs home to New Orleans after their first meeting. However, Nico follows her not long after and since he is her brother-in-law’s brother, he is in her life.

Nico helps Violet out with her tattoo shop and becomes her partner and continually fights her growing feelings for him and keeps Nico in the “Friend-zone”. I really loved the back stories in this book, like how a witch originally cursed the a witch hunter so that every male descendant will have the werewolf curse and how even the supernatural community had prejudice against werewolves because of that. None would help them even though they didn’t deserve to be cursed because of something a distant relative did.

I liked how Violet was one of the few that sees that and wants to help the werewolves (not just Nico) to be in control of their wolf side so they don’t accidentally shift and hurt those they love. This was the first book in the series I have read and it definitely CAN be read as a stand-alone, I don’t feel that I missed anything by not reading the first two books.

However, after reading this book and liking it so much, I definitely want to read the first two books and plan to read the rest of the series. I can tell some of the romances in the next few books started showing themselves in this book. The supporting characters were awesome and I love how some are darker characters (Grims, Vampires, Wolves, and the Witches are lighter more whimsical characters).

This book had everything you could want in a paranormal romance, it had creative characters, two characters pining for each other, romance, plenty of steam, some suspense, magic, a great story and more. I can’t wait for the books where the Grim’s are the love interest. I need to know more about their dark powers.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Was willing to give this book a whirl as I’ve read the first two books in the series, but I found myself having the same issue as last time. I’m thinking this series may just not be for me :( I really struggled to get into the story and connect with Violet and Nico. Other than that I don’t really have any complaints.

It's back to the Big Easy for book three in the Stay a Spell series, this time for Violet and Nico's story.

Violet and Nico have undeniable chemistry from the very first chapter. Werewolf Nico knows from the beginning that Violet is the person for him. But Violet is the Seer in the Savoie family, and despite their hot and heavy interactions, a future with Nico just isn't in the cards. . . or is it?

I've really enjoyed this paranormal romance series. Juliette Cross has done a great job of building a supernatural world that readers get to know a little better with each book in this series. She's created great characters who are taking on some big issues, including prejudice and discrimination.

While I liked Nico and Violet together, I felt like there was just a little bit missing. Their sexual chemistry was hot and undeniable, but I wanted more of their emotional connection. Perhaps it's the fated-mates aspect that tripped me up. Regardless, I am excited for more to come from this author and the Savoie family.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
