I’m excited to share with you guys today my review of Witches get Stitches by @juliettecrossauthor !! If you guys don’t know, this book is the 3rd installment in the stay a spell series, following the relationship between Violet, who is a witch, and the werewolf Nico. Since each book follows a different Savoie sister, this can be read on its own!

as always, Juliette has done it again in writing a perfect steamy, fun, paranormal read. I was really looking forward to getting my hands on this one because Violet always seemed pretty interesting, plus I’m always a sucker for artist main characters. Throughout the series, Violet is a tattoo artist, working on creating special tattoos infused with her magic. However things get intense when a group of werewolves start to bug Violet, asking her for a magical tattoo in order to control their wolves 👀

along with this, the chemistry between Nico and Violet was just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 They spent so much of the time pining over each other that I was so happy when they finally got together haha. That slow burn😩

Besides this book brimming with romance, this book had a ton of funny moments. Especially with the rest of the Savoie sisters and Violet’s closest friends. Aaahh I just love them all so much hahah. I seriously can’t recommend this book enough😌💛

Thank u to net galley and the publisher for the arc!!

Finally, after waiting waiting ten months, there is another one in the Stay a Spell series.
My heart just did a happy dance, when I saw the cover on Netgalley. So thank you, Juliette for granting the arc and getting my hands on this one early. And let's just say that I'll be eagerly awaiting Always PracticeSafe Hex! I'm curious who will be next after Violet: Jules, Livvy or Clara? The series just keeps on getting better! We had already met badass Violet in Wolf Gone Wild and Don't Hex and Drive. But now we learn that beneath all that bravado, Violet has a very big and tender heart. So tender, that she refuses Nico near her heart. But Nico, oh Nico, (swooning over here) he is just awesome. He knows that Violet is the one for him, but he wants Violet to acknowledge this by herself. So he patiently waits for her. Of course, he is not against a little blackmailing here and there. The attraction between them just sparks from the pages and their banter is hilarious. With all the Savoie sisters starring in this book and all the incredible mysterious, cute and funny other characters keeping you occupied, you'll probably finish the book in one go, just as I did.
But then there is the day after: the moment you realize that now you have to wait for the next part. Awesome read, Juliette, thank you so much! But please hurry up with the stories of the other Savoie sisters; Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley (and Juliette) for providing the arc.

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be “Hot.”

I have absolutely loved the Stay A Spell series so far and I cannot wait to get my hands on the remaining books in this series.

Violet and Nico’s chemistry is scorching hot from the very first page to the last. I wasn’t quite sure of Nico in when we first met him in previous books, but he just made me a pile of mush. He is so gone for Violet, and the way he cares for her just makes me feel gooey inside.

I love the familial love that these six sisters have. Their dynamic is the foundation on which makes these books so magical.

These books are amazing. If you’re not reading them, I do not know what you’re doing. This book follows Violet and Nico and their journey. I love that every book is about a different sibling and I am still anxiously awaiting the book about Jules!!!
Thank you to Netgalley and Juliette Cross for this ARC ebook!

This book, like all the others in this series, was so much fun! I love this author’s witting. It flows really nicely, and I was never confused with what was happening or with how character moved through a scene, which can be a problem in some books. When it comes to the characters, Nico was basically the perfect guy and Violent the quintessential brazen outgoing girl. One thing that did frustrate me in this story was how blind Violet was when it came to her own emotions and life. The whole misinterpretation of the tarot cards was a little unbelievable for someone who is supposed to be an amazing, experienced psychic. Still, I liked how this story helped the overarching narrative of the series progress and I can’t wait to read the next book. Hopefully it will be about Jules, I would love to know more about her.

*An eARC of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and the Author in exchange for an honest review.*

Back into the Stay a Spell series I go. And oh, it was over too soon. I have been anticipating this book for months and months! I think we all have. I loved the glimpses of Violet and Nico that I got in previous books and I knew I would love them so much when I got them in my hands.

Violet is a high-energy seer in the Savoie clan and she has big plans to help werewolves be more in control. Her sisters have studiously stayed away from werewolves in the past, but her sister's boyfriend, Mateo really showed them a different side to werewolves and what it could be like if they had more control.

Nico has his own goals. well, one goal. To get Violet to realize they are meant to be together. He and his wolf are in a agreement about that and about how they will seduce, cajole, and beg to get her attention in anyway possible. Whether that is by charming her, or becoming her business partner so he can always be around her.

Violet may have her hang ups about being with Nico, but that will be put to the test over and over until she gives in to the attraction that is driving them both.

And when some of Nico's old pack comes to town to stir up trouble, they will need to work together to figure out what they want and keep their town from being prey to these troublemakers.

I had a great time reading this book. I knew Juliette was going to bring it with this romance and that's what she did. I enjoyed all the family times and lovely moments (and hot ones!() between Nico and Violet.

I cannot wait for the next Stay a Spell novel!

4.5 stars from me!

This book was delicious. Much as you would expect from the rest of the series this one was delightfully
funny, very steamy and characters you can’t help but love.
Violet and Nico meet one night at a party and their chia try is explosive. But Violet is a Seer and knows how to find her soul mate and doesn’t think Nico is it so she runs away. Years later, Nico hasn’t forgot about Violet and goes to find her and seduce her anyway he can, even if he has to play the long game and become her friend.

If you love lots of sexual tension and a hero pinning after his heroine you will love this book.

I love Violet and her no bullshit attitude. She is a woman who can take care of herself and lets everyone know (even if she secretly loves being protected by her big strong wolfie).

I love Nico as a hero. He is definitely alpha being a wolf and all but he is also the sweetest cinnamon roll.

Absolutely loved this one and can’t wait for the next one.

Witches Get Stitches

“I shrugged a shoulder, unable to tell her that I couldn’t help but smile when she said she was going to concur the world because one, I believed her and two... two... I wanted Violet Savoie with every leaden beat of my besotted heart.”

Gah! The pining. Mutual pining and friends to lovers WIN.
I feel like every book in the Savoie sisters series is absolute magic. The world building, the steam, the family relationships, the steam, the outside conflict, the steam, the little hints and teases of future stories to come... oh and did I mention the steam? These supernaturals. It’s emotional and physical fire!

This is Violet’s story. I honestly did not know how I would feel about her, but like all the sisters before her, her heart is so sweet and she longs to make the world better, even with her gruff take no crap exterior. The undertone of this book matches the undertone of the broken world we are living in and I loved that Juliette Cross broached a subject such as stigma of a people group in a way that makes the reader really think.

Nico is... Hero perfection. He is patient and sweet and swoony while waiting and then dominant and possessive (in a werewolf way, not an abusive way) and all in once Violet finally decides to give in to her feelings. They have absolute care and love for one another. Their relationship truly is a friends to more and the love and trust they have for one another is palpable.

“I swallowed the lump in my throat at the realization that I was inhaling and gulping deep breaths of my mates magic. It was, in a word, magnificent. My mate.”

The supernatural world building is fantastic, and I love that with each book in the series we learn a little bit more... yet still yearn for more. It’s creative and engaging and I am so ready for a grim romance. Maybe Livvy? Possibly Clara and grim Henry? Let’s have it, please!💙

Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Juliette did it again!!!
I’m completely obsessed with the Stay A Spell series and I’m already craving for her next book.

Witches Get Stitches is packed full of sexy tattooed werewolves & badass witches that keep you hooked on every page!
I was 100% here for all the intense sexual tension between Violet & Nico. Plus them serenading to each other on stage was the icing on the cake! I’m parched just thinking about it.
Not only was this book wickedly passionate, but the underling message of acceptance was so relatable to what the world needs more of & such a great bonus to this read.
Plus the sisterly bonds in this series if my favorite aspect, what I would give to be invited to Sunday dinner!
If you’re looking for an uplifting, hysterical, sexy paranormal romance, than please read this series! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

First and Foremost I would like to thank Juliette Cross and NetGalley for allowing access to the eARC prior to the publication date of July 20th, 2021.

Witches Get Stitches is the the third installment of the stay a spell series following the six Savoie sisters and witches of New Orleans.

In particular, Witches Get Stitches follows Violet Savoie who we have come to know and love as the most brutally forthright, sarcastic sister with the mouth of a sailor who also just so happens to be a very powerful seer. We get to see Violet’s dream of opening Empress Ink unfold, the main reason Violet responded so harshly to Nico’s arrival in Wolf Gone Wild, as well as Nico’s long haul game in pursuing Violet and just how far they are willing to go for one another.

It is without a doubt that this series continues to get better and better. I loved every aspect of this book. The romance, the writing, the start of a revolution for the unjust treatment of one particular species in the SUP community as well as the very funny, very sarcastic nature of the MC’s. I would definitely classify this book as a page turner I don’t think I have read a book this fast in several months! Stay a Spell series has quickly become one of my favorite paranormal romance series and I look forward to the rest of the installments as they are released. Five out of five stars!

My thanks to NetGalley for making an eARC copy of this book available to me.

Such a pleasure to see a continuation of this series, plus the news that a collection of holiday stories in the same series is coming out later this year! Be still my heart...

The world building in this series continues very nicely, as we learn a little bit more about the "grims", and the supporting group of characters for our family of witches keeps growing. Perhaps not quite as much humor in this book as in the previous books in the series, but the fantasy and romance elements are still well balanced, and the overarching plotline continues to progress nicely.

You could read this book as a standalone, but do yourself a favor and read the series in order from the beginning.

The TLDR version of this review is: It's a super steamy, fated mates slow burn that continues the world building of supernaturals in New Orleans and the Savoie sisters. I truly loved Nico's tender heart and his infinite patience waiting Violet out, but I wanted more emotional vulnerability from Violet! All that said, I'm looking forward to the other books, and loved the hints of where Clara and Henry, Livvy and Gareth and the mystery around Grims are going. I'm looking forward to the holiday anthology in October.

****Spoliers from here on out*****

I am struggling on how to rate this book. Did it have all of the steam I wanted? Yes. Did Nico replace Mateo as my favorite Stay a Spell MC? Yes. Did it get me out of a book slump? Yes. BUT, the more I go back and read the story, I'm missing the emotional element from Violet in the last 3/4 of the book. And that may be part of the Fated Mates trope, where one character is oblivious about how they are destined for their partner, but I think it comes down to: I wanted more pining on Violet's part because Nico's POV is all about how much he yearns for her, and his anguish (both emotional and physical) about her rejecting him for two years.

I wanted a bigger emotional revelation from her to him once she realized they're meant to be. I would have liked one more love scene after they're reunited when she's kidnapped and it's less lust-filled sex and more emotional with both of them admitting how deeply they're now bonded. Nico keeps talking about how they're on the cusp of the mating bond but never says what solidifies it. Is it them admitting out loud they love each other? Is it a ritual? We never find out.

Violet is a Seer and when she's 16, she is told vaguely about her One True Love. As an adult, she's the love 'em and leave 'em type (there is no explanation why) and her relationships don't last beyond a couple of months. We're told more than shown this because when she meets Nico in Austin, they have a very hot hookup and then she bails. Ten-months later he pops up at her family's bar as the new singer/bar act. She's surprised to see him again and pissed he's there. This scene is a retcon from how they see each other again in Wolf Gone Wild (the first book), and I think this one works better because it's a one-on-one moment (as opposed to meeting him again through her sister and his cousin). Later, Violet draws Tarot cards for herself that she misinterprets and it sets the story in motion of her rejecting him for the next 14 months.

Another part that is missing for me is the friends to lovers aspect. I would categorize their relationship as acquaintances more than true friends. There are several times both mention they don't know that much about each other, and a lot of that is Violet keeping Nico at a distance. Of course, they spend time together as business partners and see each other weekly at family dinner on Sunday, but beyond one scene of them going out to bars in a group, they're not spending a lot of alone one-on-one time that would make them friends as I categorize it.

While Violet is keeping Nico in the acquaintance zone, I wanted more of the forbidden element of her wanting him but closing herself off because she thinks they'll be a disaster together. We get a lot of pining from Nico because he knows from the moment he sees her in Austin that they're supposed to be together. He's willing to play the long game but when his old werewolf gang from Austin appears in New Orleans, his need to claim her can't be denied anymore.

Nico's POV is very good at explaining how the werewolf curse has affected his family dynamics and how much he's suffering because Violet is denying him. I liked the expanded mythology of how werewolves were cursed/created, most are creative types (Nico sings/Mateo sculpts) and the work Violet and her sister are going to do to help improve supernatural hierarchy in their world.

Violet's characterization and motivation for not having long-term relationships also is never explained. Was she hurt in the past? Does she see all of them as a waste of time if they're not her One True Love? Does she truly just prefer hooking up to long-term relationships overall? I have no idea. So when she and Nico finally do pursue a relationship, the impact of how big this is for Violet doesn't come through. She says at one point she's ready to pour her heart out to him and that's not normal for her but other than admitting she loves him, where is that scene? A lot of the explanation is that she's just oblivious to how Nico feels about her because he's so good at hiding his feelings, but how can she go from being oblivious to in love just because he's now confirmed as her True Love? I wanted more of her internal struggle to not give in to her feelings and then say screw it, she's going to go for it anyway because she can't live without him and to fight fate a little bit even with the premonitions she's receiving about them.

I think the other two books are better at conveying mutual pining, and this felt very one-sided for me. Overall, I do really enjoy these books even with being nit-picky about this story. The relationships between the Savoie sisters is well-written, the mythology is expanded and interesting, and there's usually a little mystery that is easily resolved in the end. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I spent my Sunday in the supernatural world of the Savoie sisters. Violet Savoie to be exact. From the get-go Violet comes at you full force. She's kick-ass and sexy. Smart-mouthed and quick-witted. You are instantly drawn to her and her overall presence. And then there's Nico Cruz.

"Ever heard that phrase when time stood still? I'd never felt it myself, until that moment. --Was he the one?"

Nico is playing the long game. He knows he has to. For the majority of Witches get Stitches we get to indulge in a deliciously edible slow burn. Romance aside, the backstory and subplot make me hungry for more. I am excited for what's to come and love how the Stay A Spell world is expanding and moving.

I would be amiss not to mention the rest of the Savoie sisters and their loves. We get to have snippets and a few revelations from the couples previously showcased in the series and a massive, I feel, reveal of what's to come in the future. Cross has set this up to possibly become a very long-running series if she chooses. Especially with the addition of a few interesting new characters. There is one scene in particular that involves a boat that has me envisioning JJ and John B from the Netflix show Outer Banks. Google images you won't be sorry ((smile))

Magic, mystery, and mayhem. It's all soooo good! I can't wait for the release!

P.S. When do we get Jules and Ruben??? I am dying over here!!!

Thank you Netgalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Potential minor spoilers for the Stay a Spell series, including the two previous books - Wolf Gone Wild and Don't Hex and Drive.
I absolutely loved Witches Get Stitches! I loved getting to know Violet and Nico better as well as checking in with the rest of the family. Each book in Stay A Spell always gets me so excited to read the next one! I love how much we get to know the sisters and their potential love interests - the characters are all so clear even when they're not the main character in that book.
I have such a thing for Nico now!! He was so sweet and hot and just everything about him was amazing. I loved his love of Violet and the way they grew together.
I also really appreciated some of the more political aspects that were raised in the unfair treatment of werewolves by other supernaturals, which we were introduced to in Wolf Gone Wild. I like the direction that's going and that we will hopefully get more of that storyline and to see how things are going in the next books.
Another really fun read and I can't wait for the next one!

How do these books just keep getting better and better. The Savoie family and their love interests are so much fun. I just adore them and honestly wish they were real because I would totally want to spend time with them.

Violet and Nico are perfectly imperfect and it is just another home run of a series that I recommend to anyone who enjoys good storytelling.

Did I finish this book in a day, basically in one sitting? Why yes, yes I did. This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2021 and Juliette did not disappoint!

Writing style: I fell in love with Juliette's writing style from the first page of Wolf Gone Wild. I don't know what it is, but I just can't put these books down.

Characters: It's always fun to see the Savoie sisters and I love that they're included in all the separate stories and I feel like I know them all so well.
Violet is a woman after my own heart. Her style is very like mine (so I'm totally gonna cosplay her). I just really connected with her.
Nico is a cutie. I can't help but love him. I do feel like I don't know him well enough yet, I don't know why I have that feeling...

Story: The stakes weren't super high in this one compared to Wolf Gone Wild and Don't Hex and Drive, but that's okay. It was mostly about acceptance, love, and opening your eyes to see what's been right in front of you all along. And the werewolf racism subplot was also well done. I love that the Savoie sisters are gonna change so much for the entire supernatural world.

Witches Get Stitches didn't blow my mind like the other two books, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It just feels like there's something missing (and it ain't the smut, chemistry, or lovely characters, cause we got plenty of that), but well, I just have this feeling... Might be the book slump talking...
Anyway, Witches Get Stitches was a very wholesome book and it did give me warm and fuzzy feelings. I'm giving it three stars.
