Y’all, I tried once more. But it just didn’t work!

The story started out with promise and then went flat. The actions were just too out there, too dramatic, and too juvenile of a book that included adult relationships. The banter was just… not it. And the chemistry was lacking the pizzaz one would expect from a romantic comedy!

I wanted so badly to enjoy it, but I just didn’t. Will continue to try this series out, but not holding my breath! Thanks for the opportunity nonetheless!

This was a lighthearted read that's fine for passing time, but didn't have much of an effect on me as far as the romance. It was enjoyable but wasn't tremendously involved in the characters of their relationship.

I've enjoyed the previous books in this series but this one didn't do it for me as much as the others. It had the usual wit and humour that I've come to expect from this series but I really couldn't take to our main man. I found him a bit too judgemental and I just couldn't warm to him. I did enjoy the storyline and will continue with the series.

This rom-com was delightful from the first sentence on the page and I was instantly able to sympathize and get lost in these main characters falling in love with each other. These authors did a fabulous job of balancing the POV's of each character while keeping the will they, won't they suspense running throughout the plot. The hero and heroine were adorable, loveable, and so fun together! I would absolutely pick up another title from them.

Plus, dogs! Who doesn't love dogs?

This story is a comedy of errors in true Shakespearean style. Filled with fumbles, foibles, and follies, the course of Autumn and Jack’s love never really does run smooth. They’re surrounded on all sides by scheming socialites and meddling family and friends, making it hard to decipher who’s helping and who’s hindering. There’s lots of snarky banter and observations as well as a couple of brilliant “a-hah!” moments making the book both sweet and silly. I kind of hate that it’s over already because I’m dying to know more about what happens for the Jones family after this happily ever after.

LOVED! Oh, I loved this novel to the fullest! Dineen and Summers have been knocking out some brilliant novels in the An Accidently in Love Series and I can confidently say that Text In Show has to be the best of the lot! This book was packed with everything that you could ever ask for in a cute romcom and then some!

I loved all the characters in this book and that they each grew as the book progressed, however it was Autumn that really stole the show. She was just a stand out character, I loved that she never gave up or backed down even when her own sister treated her like she was the hired help. I really liked the way Autumn and Helen finally reconnected and that Autumn helped Helen find her self worth which had taken a major beating. The entire dog show was just hilarious, but I did love getting to see Celine Dion get a bit of life and love from Autumn.

It was just hilarious watching Autumn and Jack dancing around each other, the chemistry between these two was just hot, hot, hot. Oh, but their little miscommunication was just to much! After being burned once by one of these bored housewives Jack already had a predisposed idea of the life that Autumn lead, like the rest of his clients he took her to be a sugar baby with her dog as just another accessory, but this could not be further from the truth. I loved watching these two do their love hate dance, only to realise that they both can’t stand these hoity toity ladies.

I don’t think I laughed as much as I did while reading the scenes with Autumn’s parents, oh gosh were the Jones just a treat. With their talk of rat poison and true crime shows these two were just comic gold! I loved watching Jack try to prove to them that he wasn’t this dirt bag that chased married women, oh this was just to funny.

Text In Show was just non stop fun from start to finish, this book truly checked so many of the boxes that make up a perfect read. Even though much of the book read as a comedy, Dineen and Summers touch on a major topic, self worth and that you should never lose yourself in a relationship. This is an absolute must read, I would highly recommend adding Text In Show to your TBR.

Be still my hopeless romantic heart. I love happy endings and this boook was so amazing. Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers didn't hold back in giving the love on this beautiful read about Family and having the courage to start over even if you're scared of the outcome
Looking for your next read to curl up to this should be up next in your tbr

This rom-com is a quick read. It’s light and undemanding. Autumn is a likable protagonist, as is Jack as a love interest. Much of the plot here revolves around their pre-conceived ideas about each other. Less likable is Autumn’s sister, Helen. I mean Helena. She’s all about appearances and social climbing, along with her husband. I’m glad to say, though, that she does get a redeeming moment.

Really, this is much like the Hallmark Channel movies I like to watch while I’m knitting. They don’t take much brain power, and are a pleasant and predictable way to pass the time. I’ve already purchased a couple of others in this series on sale for my Kindle.

Possible Objectionable Material:
These are grownups, so drinking, sex (not described), infidelity, cursing. There’s a scene of women in their swimsuits with some description of their bodies.

Who Might Like This Book:
If you like Hallmark Channel movies—or dogs—or both—this is for you!

Text in Show by Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers is a sweet, light-hearted and romantic story. This is the second book I've read in the series and the more I read, the more I enjoy. The characters are well-written and with great chemistry, plus a unique plot with the added craziness of rich dog-mothers and planning a high-society dog show.

Thank you net galley for the reader copy of this novel. This was a wonderful read and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The writing style glowed so well and has many laugh out loud moments. The story line of a snooty fin g show was hilarious and loved cheering Jack and Autumn along. Mr. And mrs. Jones had a great stzet!!!!! Can't wait to read others in this series!!!!

“Text in Show” is a hilarious romcom with shades of “Crazy Rich Asians”- with dogs. When Autumn moves to NYC for grad school she agrees to help her sister with a dog show in exchange for a place to stay. But this is no Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. With categories like swimwear and evening gowns, this show is more about showing off the owners’ money than the dogs’ breeding. Autumn is shocked by the expensive life her sister is living and wants to finish with the show and get out as fast as possible. But she meets veterinarian Jack, the hot new “it” doctor for the bored socialites. And thing get complicated. There are some innocent misunderstandings, some confusions totally based on Jack’s prejudice against bored rich women, and fireworks between the two when they are least wanted. Light and hysterical from page one on, this was a book I didn’t want to put down. I also loved how the message changed partway through, (no spoilers here but it was a great reimagining of situations). Sarcasm, wit, and dogs “Text in Show” was a great, fun read!

2.5 stars - This book was fun, but really average for a rom-com. The main characters (August and Jack) were both very likeable, but they “fell in love” after being around each other a handful of times. The choice of words were just silly, for example; “display of mirth”, Jack calling August his “companion” when they’re just spending time together, and using the word “nosh” instead of just saying “food”. It’s like the authors didn’t want to use the normal term for something and decided to look at a thesaurus. I hate when writers do this. It’s not cute, just distracting. Also, unless I’m mistaken, August quotes something Jack said when he was talking to Brenda (and she wasn’t there) - the part about having “thousands of women” he could be compatible with. Whoops.
Overall this book was just okay, but at least it was relatively short.

For about half of the book, I wanted to give Jack a piece of my mind but once he got a clue the rest of the book was a fun and cute read.

This book was just ok for me. Normally I find Melanie Summers books fun reads with lots of laughs and quick to finish. This one had a few funny scenes in it but I wouldn't go out of my way to read others in this series.

This is a lighthearted romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. It takes place in NYC, I'm a native of NYC. It has dogs. I have dogs. It's about second chances and grabbing them. I've probably let too many second chances pass me by... Okay, this isn't about me. : ) My point is, what's not to enjoy?

I was afraid, given the title, that it might be all in text. There are texts, but not too many (I'm not a fan of epistolary novels). Some of the characters might be over the top. On the other hand, since I have never dealt with this social group, perhaps it's NOT over the top. I'm simply not qualified to say. I can tell you that it was a lot of fun to read and I will be looking forward to more books from these authors.

My thanks to the authors, Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers, the publisher and NetGalley for making this book available to me.
