Brenda is absolutely one of my favorite authors. I’ve loved every one of her books and this one is no different. I love the multiple pov and timelines in this story. What a family saga from the 70s to present day. You’ll really be caught up in this one, not wanting it to end.

The Liz Taylor Ring written by Brenda Janowitz is a multi- generational family saga and love story filled with drama. The story is told from multiple points of view which gives the reader insight into the thoughts and motivation of the family members. . I love how Ms. Janowitz linked the main characters, Lizzie and Ritchie Schneider, to Liz Taylor and Richard Burton......a large diamond ring. The themes of the novel include "forever" love, loss, addictions, and sibling rivalry. I loved this book and plan to read more of Ms. Janowitz's novels. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review,

A good family drama book, this story brings you through the conflict of Addy, Nathan, and Courtney. The lure of a long lost safety deposit box brings them together, it will they be able to stay together, or will their differences continue to divide them?

Four and a half Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭒
The Liz Taylor Ring by Brenda Janowitz is a sweeping family saga that covers several generations of the Schneider family. The book is full of family drama and conflicts with twists and turns that had me guessing all throughout the book.

Lizzie Morgan and Ritchie Schneider had an extremely passionate and tumultuous marriage, much like that of Lizzie’s idol, Elizabeth Taylor, and her relationship with Richard Burton. Ritchie was a gambler, and at first, Lizzie found his gambling exciting and fun, but after he gambled too much, they separated for nine months. Richie, desperate to get her back, won a huge diamond ring, similar to the huge 33 carats Krupp Diamond that Richard Burton gave to Elizabeth Taylor, and gave the ring to Lizzie in order to win her back.

After their deaths, their three children gather after hearing from a lawyer that a safe deposit box in their father’s name was found in the Cayman Islands and they need to go and see what could be in the box. They are all surprised to learn that their mother’s ring is in the box, as they all three thought the ring had been stolen, lost, or gambled away.

This fascinating story gripped me from the very beginning and never let up. The story is complex, but I found it easy to follow as the author did an excellent job of switching POV’s and settings just enough to keep the story moving along, without confusing the reader. The book has it all, great characters, a complex mystery, and a bit of romance.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fiction. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

After enjoying The Grace Kelly Dress, I had my eye on The Liz Taylor Ring and couldn't wait to read it! I'm glad I got the chance to, as it was a great story that kept me captivated throughout.

The first thing that really grabbed me was the way Brenda Janowitz introduced us to the three main characters, Addy, Nathan, and Courtney. I was intrigued right away! Their sibling dynamic was definitely at the forefront of this story, with Courtney being so much younger than Addy and Nathan and how she ended up fitting into their lives anyway.

This novel was really well-written with great character development and an interesting plot. Brenda's descriptions brought people and places to life. I liked the multiple perspectives and timelines to really draw the story out. It stayed interesting the entire time. I also liked the Atlantic City and Vegas backdrops that were prevalent during the story.

Overall, it's a terrific family saga that I definitely recommend! Perfect for fans of Malibu Rising.

Movie casting suggestions:
Addy: Sarah Michelle Gellar

The Liz Taylor Ring by Brenda Janowitz is a story about family, their dysfunction and the secrets that bubble to the surface when a ring, potentially their late mother’s, resurfaces in the Cayman Islands.

This book is not directly about Elizabeth Taylor as the title surmises. Instead, it’s about a couple named Lizzie and Richie, like the iconic Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, and a ring given to Lizzie that is reminiscent of Taylor’s eleven carat ring from Burton. I didn’t realize how much of the book’s plot was based on similar situations that the iconic Liz Taylor lived through. Janowitz does an amazing job at the end of the book sharing the similarities, chapter by chapter.

It is such a joy for a reader to get to know the characters so well. The three siblings had a lot of issues as individuals as well as in their relationships with each other. Their birth order was representative of their personalities, and that really came into focus. I am glad we were able to see them connect in a new way and grow as a result of the illustrious, newly found, ring.

This book read easily and is perfect for vacation. It covers gambling, marriage, sibling rivalry, what makes a family, jewelry, being part of a family business, and the trials of kids on Instagram. Something in it for everyone.

“ How one humongous ring could change the dynamic of her family”

“Family defines you!”

Addy, Nathan, and Courtney, three siblings who grew up with hearing their parents epic love story. A story that defined them and their relationships.
Their parents were Lizzie and Ritchie … Whom Lizzie liked to compare them to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton from an early age. Like Elizabeth Taylor, Ritchie gave Lizzie and 11 carat diamond ring which has been rumored to be missing, buried, or gambled away.. so imagine their surprise when the ring resurfaces. Each sibling wanting to keep it for themselves for different reasons.

I devoured this book. It was an absolute joy to read and to follow these siblings not only into the future but a travel into the past as well !

This book can be summed up in one word. FABULOUS! I read The Grace Kelly dress right before this and loved it so much I had to jump right on this book. So glad I did I couldn’t put it down. This family seems so flawed but they are a family and that makes it all ok. I preordered for my Mom and sister. I need them to read it so I have someone to talk about it with. This was an A+ for me!

An easy, enjoyable read with the infamous Liz Taylor ring as the centerpiece. Brenda Janowitz has a knack for creating stories with an interesting pop culture event as a backstory.

I'll read anything that Brenda Janowitz writes, and I really enjoyed The Liz Taylor Ring. This book follows the Schneider siblings, Addy, Nathan, and Courtney, and an heirloom ring, a replica of the ring Richard Burton gave Elizabeth Taylor, that their father gave their mother years ago. When the ring is uncovered years later, after each sibling has a different story of when it was lost, the unearthing of it also brings forth family secrets and hard truths that each family member needs to face.

I loved that the chapters alternated perspectives between each sibling, and that you also get chapters in the past from Lizzie and Ritchie, Addy, Nathan, and Courtney's parents. Janowitz is a great storyteller and I enjoyed the history of the family in the chapters that took place in the past, as much as following the siblings journey in present day. Each sibling has secrets they are keeping from each other, and I enjoyed how bringing those secrets to light evolved throughout the book. In the beginning of the book I really disliked Addy and how she felt she was entitled to things because she was the oldest child, but her arc throughout the book was my favorite as her big secret came to light and you watched her personality evolve.

Cute, fun read. A perfect novel to read when you want interesting characters but not a tedious tale. Great beach read.

An achingly beautiful story of endless love, loss, and heartbreaking redemption.

Addy and Nathan are siblings. Well, so is Courtney, but they forget about her. A lot. On purpose. Being the baby of the family and always being just a bit different than them, they try hard to only deal with her when absolutely necessary. But when Addy gets a phone call avout a safe deposit box belonging to her father in the Cayman Islands, the three siblings are suddenly thrust together in a war on what exactly to do with the contents of the box. The Krupp diamond. The very one Richard Burton gifted to Elizabeth Taylor and their father Ritchie gifted to their mother Lizzie.

Though each sibling has a distinct reason for wanting the diamond for themselves, the biggest issue may just be surviving each other until they decide. Throw in a few surprises and the siblings find out just how much they do need each other. Told in alternate timelines of now and the 70's to 00's that follows their parents epic love story, This book was so much more than I was expecting in a massively good way. Part love story. Part sibling redemption story. This book was utterly engrossing and a beautiful perfect stroll through the Taylor Burton marriage and the story of Lizzie and Ritchie. The most amazing discovery was at the back of the book. Every single name, story, and detail in the book the author revealed where she got that from Elizabeth Taylor's own life. It was an absolute wow moment to see just how much research was done and how thoroughly engrossed in her life the author was. I can't speak highly enough about this one!! Expected publication date February 1, 2022.

A charming book about the Schneider family and the huge, magical adventure and a large diamond ring that shaped their lives and their parents lives. The 3 siblings come together when it appears that the long missing diamond has been found. It has been lost, found, replaced and possibly stolen, yet it turned up in a vault in the Caymans.

Despite being estranged, Nathan and Addy, reengage with wayward sister Courtney. With many ups and downs, they fight with each other and ultimately come together. Not only will the reader enjoy this story, but Janowitz’ explanation of the connections to Liz Taylor will engage those of us who were fans and lived through the tumult of her relationship to Richard Burton and her jewelry.

Another novel which highlights a missing gem, THE IMPERFECTS, by Amy Myerson, should also be read by those enjoying this novel.

Thank you Netgalley for this lovely read.

4.5 stars for THE LIZ TAYLOR RING by Brenda Janowitz, out wherever books are sold on March 1st, 2022.

Malibu Rising meets an Elin Hilderbrand novel in this dazzling family drama.

I adore Brenda Janowitz’s theme of weaving an iconic piece of Old Hollywood into modern day storylines for her most recent novels. This time, she shines a light on Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic ring that was given to her by Richard Burton after their separation.

Lizzie and Ritchie follow their namesakes reputations as a tumultuous relationship. They are madly in love, but Ritchie has his vices. After years of frustration, Lizzie needs space and she separates from Ritchie. But, their love is magnetic and they find their way back to eachother. To celebrate their reunion, Ritchie gives Lizzie a diamond ring. To their children — Addy, Nathan, and Courtney — this represents the love story of their parents, but what they don’t know is the secrets that come along with it. We follow each of them as they uncover their parents pasts, mistakes, and earthquakes.

THE LIZ TAYLOR RING was an engaging novel that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finished. I love the brief chapters, the multi-POV, and the family drama. I can’t wait to see what Brenda Janowitz does next… Audrey Hepburn? Marilyn Monroe?

I look forward to sharing this forthcoming title with our blog audience and will keep it as a contender as a future pick for our monthly book club.

I loved the premise and that gorgeous cover! However, the story was a tiny bit of a let-down for me. Generally I love family sagas, but I had a hard time becoming invested in these particular characters. The author did a lot of telling versus showing, which made the narrative feel very surface-level rather than immersing us in scene. I do appreciate the character development as the story progresses.

Addy, Nathan and Courtney are siblings who’ve all kind of drifted apart (more so Addy and Nathan have drifted from Courtney). When they get a phone call about a safe deposit box in the Cayman Islands, Addy and Nathan are forced to interact with Courtney.

I don’t want to give too much away, but I loved seeing the 3 siblings grow closer. Also Addy loosening up, my goodness, lol!!

I truly loved how the different timelines came together and the past kind of healed the future.

What a remarkable novel! The enticing love story of the Schneiders is the driving force behind this story, and the ring that signifies their love leads the reader to present day’s complicated relationship between their children. They are still living in the shadow of their larger than life parents, and the ring might just be the key to solving their life puzzle.
