This was an ok story, I didn’t like nor did i hate it. I like the authors writing style and will continue to read from her.

I loved this book. It was an easy, predictable read but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. I liked both Morgan and Shawn and really wanted to eat at the dîner and met the grandfathers. I loved how welcoming the town were to Morgan and the setting was brilliant. Who wouldn’t love to stay in one of these cabins?!!

The only negative part for me was the endless dialogue during the sex scenes! But I still loved it!

Will definitely be reading more from the author

Overall Seasons for Change was a decent read. What I liked most was the setting of the book. - Lake Tahoe. After reading this romance and others that take place at this location, it really makes me want to visit. And what would make it even more exciting is seeing Shawn running that nice little diner. Yes she was my favorite character here and those she surrounded herself were a delight. I did overall like Morgan, but she didn't seem like the perfect fit for Shawn. When you read this one you will get what I am saying. Shawn was just such a lovely person. It would have been nice if these two were able to communicate better. Some of the angst would have been avoidable. So again a decent summer romance.

3.5 stars.

This is a sweet contemporary romance set on Lake Tahoe, which makes me want to go on a trip, really badly. The romance is fluffy and cute and both of the characters were easy to like. I enjoyed this little novel but some elements felt off to me. I felt like the pacing wasn't great at times and there was more back and forth than I would have liked. It was also a slow starter, which isn't an issue but the payoff didn't quite match it I think. The setting was amazing and the community aspect of this book was so lovely. I loved the cast of characters populating the diner. Overall I thought this was a sweet book and whilst I didn't love it, I did enjoy it and would recommend to anyone looking for a fluffy, light romance.

This is a standard romance, meaning that there is nothing that has not been read before, it has the formula that works in lesbian romances so it's a safe bet if that's what you're looking for.

Two women. One of them, Shawn, left her job years ago to settle in rural Lake Tahoe, taking over the business her grandfather left her, a restaurant for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. Sentimentally speaking, Shawn had a love disappointment before leaving her old life behind, now in Tahoe she has affairs with tourists, nothing serious, but she is already tired of that and wants to find her one, definitely.

The other, Morgan, has a roller coaster of emotions throughout history. She starts out with a partner, but soon the partner is cheating on her, just as she and Shawn meet.

So the story takes place between Morgan's breakup, Morgan and Shawn’s hesitation to get involved, each for their own personal reasons, while unable to deny her growing attraction and the final acceptance of what it must be.

And my peeve, as is always the case, comes with the 80 percent drama. This is the point at which, without fail, the stories that follow the standard formula include the dramatic situation: an ex returns, or more than one, an unexpected accident, a meteorite fall. Something always happens that shakes the incipient relationship and puts it in jeopardy.

I should be used to it by now, in fact I'm putting up with it better and better, even with some humor actually. So, leaving that aside, the story has many incentives and although it is not perfect, it is more than enough.

This is a good vacation read or just one to read when you are having a lazy weekend. The main characters are Morgan and Shawn. Shawn in vacationing with her friends in Lake Tahoe. She is upset that her girlfriend has bailed on a vacation with her yet again, but tries to make thee best of it. Morgan owns a diner in Lake Tahoe that is popular with tourists and locals alike. Shawn and her friends seeing how bustling the diner is, decide to check it out. Not only is Shawn enjoying the food, but is also enjoying the owner of the diner. Morgan notices Shawn checking her out, but has vowed to herself never to get involved with tourists. Shawn has to cut her trip short due to a work emergency. She stops at home to drop off her things and finds her girlfriend in their bed with another woman. Shocked and confused, Shawn tells her to get her things out and runs off to work.

Shawn makes it back to Lake Tahoe shortly after her girlfriend is moved out of the house and out of her life. She rents a house and hopes the solitude will help heal her heart. She is having problems with the house and finds her neighbor to help her. The neighbor being Morgan, of course.
There are many off and on again with Morgan and Shawn, but with most lesfic, you know how this will end!
I enjoyed this book and would recommend.

Lakeshore Love

Shawn lives in a Lake Tahoe town where she runs a local diner. She loves her life for the most part but has come to realize she is lonely and is looking for more than the occasional bed partner. Morgan and her best friends went on a much needed vacation to Shawn’s town. Her partner was supposed to join them but their relationship has been really rocky and she stayed home. Can you guess what happens when Morgan has to go home early? Eventually Morgan will return to Tahoe to get over her feelings of betrayal and heal. Shawn and Morgan are neighbours and attracted to each other. They enjoy each other’s company and have fun together but Morgan is not staying and they would be foolish to risk their hearts….

I loved this book! Truth be told, I love just about everything Ms Richardson writes. She tells wonderful tales and this is no exception. Shawn is laid back, sensitive, strong and fun loving. Morgan is more refined but equally free, warm and sweet. They make a beautiful couple and you can’t help but feel their chemistry and want them to be together. I also really liked the regulars at Shawn’s café. The older gents that were her grandfather’s best friends and look out for Shawn are quirky and funny. There is a misunderstanding between Morgan and Shawn that causes a bit too angst but in the end all is well, and that’s what matters… This mushy book has some LOVELY sexy scenes and all the feels you could want. It is a great book no matter the season and will leave you happy and content.

This was a sweet easy romance. I liked both main characters and felt the storyline was realistic. Hurt feelings, misinterpretations and protective emotional walls abound. The scenery and small town descriptions really helped enrich the book. Adding a lovable dog and it becomes even better. I happily recommend this book. Seasons for Change by K.C. Richardson is a contemporary romance, and also what I might call a summer romance. It’s the type of story I might pick to read on a vacation trip or a long weekend of relaxing. Even the setting adds to the vacation feel of this novel. The setting is actually one of my favorite parts of this story. The book takes place mostly in the Lake Tahoe area. The two main characters meet here and enjoy the amenities of the area as they become friends and gradually lovers. The author did a good job describing the region and the activities available to the characters.

Shawn, one of the main characters lives in the area and owns a diner. Morgan visits the town with friends and later comes back to visit on her own. This is when the two begin to notice each other. They are attracted to each other, but both suck at communicating, which leads to misunderstandings and even a possible breakup.
I will admit I had a few problems with the characters, especially Morgan. It was kind of hard to connect with her because she seemed kind of superficial and judgmental at times. I understand some of that was done to help create conflict in the tale. It just made it hard to like her sometimes.

The story is rather predictable. I often knew what was going to happen before I read it. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing. This is a pure romance, and sometimes people just want stories like this. It is the kind of story I might read at the beach or at camp. That’s why I called it a summer or vacation romance.

I’m giving this book a 3.5 star rating. I did enjoy the story and will look for more from this author.

This is a sweet contemporary sapphic romance set on Lake Tahoe. It follows Shawn who is a local running a family diner and Morgan; a city girl in the area for a weekend break and they immediately feel a connection to one another. The romance is fluffy and cute and both of the characters were easy to like.

I enjoyed this little novel but some elements felt off to me. I felt like the pacing wasn't great and there was more back and forth than I would have liked. It was also a slow starter, which isn't an issue but the payoff didn't quite match it I think.

The setting was amazing and the community aspect of this book was so lovely. I loved the cast of characters populating Shawn's diner.

Overall I thought this was a sweet book and whilst I didn't love it, I did enjoy it.

This novel is about a budding love affair between two completely different women. Morgan went to Lake Tahoe for a vacation of 4 weeks. She meets Shawn and it goes from friendship to feelings but Morgan Lives in Sacramento 2 hours away. The plot is good along with the characters.. There is love, feelings and miscommunication on both parts..
I recommend this book for romance readers.

The real star of this book is Lake Tahoe. But the people in this story aren’t too bad either. A pretty simple love story. A woman owns and operates the diner her grandfather left her and the other woman comes here to get away from the heartache of finding out the woman she loved was a cheater.
Shawn Evens spends her time running the diner all the while taking in all the adventures to be found living by Lake Tahoe. Bedding some of the women that come to visit the lake district was always enough but now as she’s aging she’s started to think of having someone in her life long term. When she met Morgan the attraction was there but for how long.
Since Morgan Campbell came to Lake Tahoe to help herself get over a relationship that didn’t turn out the way she’d hoped. Having just gotten out of a relationship, she wasn’t interested in meeting anyone else, especially since she just wanted to mend her heart. But she didn’t count on meeting the owner of the local diner. She was attracted to Shawn. She couldn’t help herself. But was it fair to pursue a romance with Shawn when she knew she’d only be staying for a few weeks.
Ms Richardson has given us a simple story that still drew me in. One other thing this story does is make you want to spend some time at Lake Tahoe too. Pretty good read.

This book is a fun and easy women-loving-women romance set in beautiful Lake Tahoe. People looking for the genre milestones of denying desire, happenstance pushing the protagonists together, the budding relationship being threatened by lack of communication, and then a happy ending will find comfort in this story. Also, if you're looking for some spicy scenes, you will find them here. The characters are likeable and fun to spend time with, and because of that it felt like some important scenes and dialogues were rushed. I wanted more time and development.

This is a sweet sapphic romance with two likeable characters in a beautiful setting, and also featuring a star character in Jameson the dog. I found the pacing of the story a little hit and miss - the first few chapters felt very rushed and I struggled to get engaged with the story initially. However, once the two main characters properly meet and begin to build a friendship, the pacing calms down and the friendship built between the two characters is really enjoyable with lots of romantic moments and plenty of flirtation. The inevitable hiccup in the relationship felt a little forced and unrealistic, as it had felt as though the characters had strong communication up until that point which was suddenly lost. However, I really enjoyed the story as a whole. It was great to see representation of a more masculine of center character as one of the leads, and the romance was sweet and spicy in all the right places.

Good slow burn romance with lots of drama and angst. The main characters had some issues that both needed to overcome to be together. Morgan had insecurities from a failed relationship and Shawn was lonely and didn't want to fall in love with the wrong person. I liked that the two started their relationship as friends first, but there was quite a bit of foreplay before any sex scenes happened. This is the first full length book by this author I have read, but it won't be the last. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family members.

I found this to be an easy read. Great communication between the main characters Shawn and Morgan. Amazing settings, which makes me want to visit Lake Tahoe right this minute.. The secondary characters were lovely. I recommend 4 stars.

Ok, where to begin with this one? Let me start by saying Lake Tahoe is high on my list of places I should visit and one of the reason, maybe the main reason, why I wanted to read this one. It didn’t disappoint on Tahoe info, I wish I could say the same about the story.

Shawn owns a diner on Lake Tahoe’s coast, she used to be a player but is ready to settle down. Morgan is vacationing ate the lake with her friends when a work emergency calls her home early and her life is uprooted. When Morgen returns to Lake Tahoe the next season she is there to find herself, no intention of finding someone else. She needs to be helped by Shawn pretty early on with really silly stuff, I don’t like that. Morgan seemed like an independent type of person, smart as well, but she couldn’t figure those things out herself? Silly… Shawn is super nice, but still dating someone from town, who she just isn’t into that much, or at all basically. It’s a bit of an awkward part of the story. Shawn and Morgan become friends with potential for more. And all this happens in a little over a week? I love yous are utter so quickly I am intensely shocked. These are women in their late thirties, early forties, I wouldn’t expect this, and from a former player no less… Mind is blown! The Shawn’s dog, Jameson, is super cute. The interaction with him warm my little animal loving heart. The whirlwind romance in this one just doesn’t.

The pace of the book is all wrong for me, the first seasons were so rushed, I had a hard time getting into the book. And then it slowed down so much it confused me again, and what would you know, speeds right back up again towards the end. The big drama is worthy of a gigantic eye roll, you’re full grown women, take a moment to communicate please.

I liked Jameson, I liked Shawn (such a softie), and all the descriptions of Lake Tahoe. Since there ar whist somethings that didn’t work out to great for me I can’t give it more than 3.2 stars.

It’s an ok story, but it didn’t really capture my imagination. There was nothing wrong with the romance, all the ingredients were there - great setting, cute dog, player finally wants commitment - I just found myself getting a bit bored. The drama from the two ex’s livened it up a bit and more of their craziness would have been good. It needed something to lift the plot beyond the obvious.

This is a first for me for this author so I didn't have any expectations going in about her writing from past books....with that being said, I can't say I really enjoyed this story, sorry. In the first 25% or so of the book it is fast paced and seemed like the timeline was a bit jumpy, but I do like that better than a dragging, repetitive story line.

You got a feel for both main characters right away, Shawn a diner owner with a strong pass to the town her diner is in so you have a lot of history there and Morgan a vacationer that has a spark with Shawn right away. What I had a really hard time with is the author kept putting labels on them and other characters, butch, femme, soft femme, big butch....I am ok with descriptions of a character but when you label them specifically, not a fan.

As the story moves on and Shawn and Morgan start to get interested in each other, the author gives us a really good feel of their environment, specifically Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area. I can safely say, without ever having visited California, I can really picture Lake Tahoe. The chemistry between the MCs is good, but they really have communication issues-really, who takes a person's dog and not text them about it. Also how the angst was pulled off, misunderstanding based on a conversation that Morgan eased dropped on, and didn't even bother to ask Shawn direct, I thought was just a bit over the top for what caused the blowup, just a bit trivial for the plot line. Other than that, I did like the characters and how they interacted before the blowup.

Now for the sex scene, very hot, always enjoy a good sex scene and the author had quite the build up for it, dedicating a lot of pages to it all, like I said, hot.

All in all, the book was ok, just felt choppy at the beginning (due to the sped up timeline) and the labeling, but overall it was a nice read for the summer. Maybe I'll even put Lake Tahoe on my travel to-do list.

I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, but would have written the same opinion if I had come across this author on my own.

To see my Amazon review, it is under CC-enjoyable

Old-school cottagecore romance with very stereotypical butch/femme coding. I found the characters uninspired and the super-domestic setting (with lots of extraneous detail about what type of wood a cabin's made out of and what kind of food is being prepared or consumed) eye-glazingly tedious. The writing's also pretty clunky, with tenses chosen seemingly at random, and the sex scenes were actively terrible (if I never have to read about wetness pooling in someone's "lower region" or see a cunt referred to as a sex or a center, it'll still be too soon). There's a third act break-up based entirely on avoidable misunderstandings, which is a massive pet peeve for me, and of course both characters have to have horrible psycho and/or cheating exes, because there can only ever be one twue wuv pairing, apparently. Hard pass.
