This book sounded really cute but it didn't like up to my expectations for it. The first issue I had was how slow the book was. In some spots I could have easily just put the book down. The book also doesn't know what it wants to be. Overall it was pretty meh for me.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and the authors for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Let me just say that there is some romance in this book, but I would not classify it as a romance novel. The romance element is remarkably low-key for a book about what is supposed to be the most romantic day of someone's life, their wedding day.

This sort of reads like a compilation of high-end weddings, which, if it's your thing, could be pretty interesting. But the format of a romance novel doesn't quite fit - reading this book was like watching a reality tv series about wedding planners and the crazy things they have to do.

There were some funny moments (where does one obtain a gold spandex unitard please?) and I thought having the love interest friend zone the protagonist pretty early on was an interesting choice that made we want to read more and find out how it all ended. But (and this is a small but) I really didn't like the high octane, materialistic, shallow world these characters were living in.

That said, if Southern protagonists and light-hearted chick-lit are your things, then you may get more out of this book than I did.

I started this on my Kindle over Thanksgiving break, and I could not get into it. I picked it back up on audiobook when it came out. Lottie works in the world of high end weddings in Dallas, TX. She had her heart broken by her college sweetheart where she is forced to celebrate happily-ever-afters daily. I really enjoyed this, and it may be because I spent three years working weddings as a bartender/cater waiter. I think that Lottie’s struggles with her life not being what she thought was super relatable. I liked her growth throughout the book - even if it took her planning her ex’s (of nine years) wedding for her to finally get over him.

Thanks to @NetGalley and Harper Muse for my ARC!

A fun little read over a weekend. It made me laugh out loud like a good romantic comedy should. It also had parts that will tug your heart strings.
A sweet read, that is one you should put on your TBR or better yet skip the pile and read right away.

A fun and quick read, I enjoyed spending Dallas's wedding season with Lottie Jones and her sometimes ridiculous brides. In a fresh take, Lottie's love interests weren't quite as black and white as the usual rom com and I liked seeing her authentically figure out which man was for her. I will say one of her love interests still had some work to do to win me over but I felt very satisfied as I turned the final pages!

~3.5⭐Rating~

Lottie has spent the past many years planning the perfect wedding, her perfect wedding only to have her heart broken, now with absolutely no career prospects and definitely no wedding Lottie has to find a way to make ends meet. With her only real experience being planning this dream wedding why not make a job out of it? This is exactly how Lottie finds herself working under one of the most sought after wedding planners in town, but it would seem fighting for her place in the top tier is a lot hard than she had expected! Especially when Lottie is tasked with planning the dream wedding for her ex sweetheart!

••

I absolutely loved the sound of this book, with a strong sounding premise Without A Hitch held a lot of promise. I had hopes of it being something like Bridesmaids meets The Wedding Planner kind of read. However there were far to many details that made this a tiny but heavy, like we really didn’t need every single play by play. I think this book was written more to be seen as a movie rather than read as a book.

••

Lottie was such an interesting character, I really liked that she didn’t wilt under losing what she had planned and she found a way to make the best out of the situation. We really got a in-depth view of what goes into planning a wedding and all the crazy requests that brides throw their way. Note that weird chicken! I really liked the relationship that Lottie had with her college friends, this was rather cute.

••

The romance in this book was on the light side, even though we had to possible love interest, there was just something lacking. Personally I preferred Matt but Griff was such a dorky cutie that played of Lottie and all of her wedding drama so well. As for the ex, Brody’s wedding didn’t really play such a major role in the overall story, I was expecting more drama here.

••

Without A Hitch felt a tiny bit to long drawn out and lacked some of that romance that I had hoped for. Nevertheless I will say that it was interesting getting to see the ins and outs of wedding planning and getting to see Lottie find herself again.

I was excited to read this one, but it fell flat for me. It’s described as a romance, but there wasn’t even any romance. They were some dates, some kisses, but no romance.

I feel the book is more about Lottie and her finding herself. She wanted to be a lawyer and had hopes of marrying her college boyfriend, Brody. Instead, she got dumped and years later she is as a wedding planner. She’s learning to except her life and she’s learning that she’s doing exactly what she’s meant to be.

There are a lot of funny mishaps at all the weddings and there is some drama when she learns that one of the weddings is Brody’s. I almost feel like there was too much written about the weddings and the mishaps, and not about Lottie. In the middle I started to get bored because nothing was really happening (besides weddings), it picked up at the end but then the ending was rushed.

If you enjoy reading about weddings then this one is for you,

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I love all things weddings and wedding related so I was super excited to read this. Unfortunately, this didn't hit the mark for me. I lived in Dallas for 16 years so while I appreciated references to DFW landmarks (like Joe T. Garcia's), I don't know that so much name dropping was necessary. It felt a bit forced. Honestly, the whole story felt a bit forced. It's a mash up of wedding planning (some funny moments, but too many details), a slight love story (there was minimal chemistry between these two), and a bit of self-reflection as Lottie grapples with finding her place in life (career wise & romantically).

✨Sweet Home Alabama meets Emily in Paris in this hilarious romp through the world of extravagant southern weddings.

This was a fun look behind the scenes of wedding planning. I planned my own wedding and it was so much fun but jeez it was a lot of work. I would have loved to have million dollar budget also would rather spend it on the honeymoon, lol

Lottie Jones is an promising talent at a prestigious wedding planning company for the rich and famous. We get to follow her behind the scenes as she plans and helps put together some ridiculous and extravagant weddings.

She is also navigating the dating scene with one guy that is really interested in her and one guy that flirts but is complicated.  Then she has to plan her college ex boyfriends wedding who is now a NFL player. This forces her to reflect on all her life choices since college.

This story was definitely self discovery for Lottie but such a fun journey through so many weddings.

Thank you harpermusebooks and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

Without A Hitch is a cute romcom that is a quick and enjoyable read! Lotties wedding adventures were such a delight to read about. If something could go wrong, Lottie was there to witness it and fix it! I found Lottie to be a better sport than me in helping to plan her ex-boyfriend's wedding! Yeah...no...it would have been a hard pass for me!

If you loved the movie Sweet Home Alabama, you should pick up this book!

This is a cute and funny romcom about a wedding planner named Lottie who got into the business after she planned her own wedding to a college football star. She wasn’t sure where he’d be drafted, so she planned their wedding with options for any city. Unfortunately, she neglected to mention any of this to her boyfriend!

After their breakup, she started working for The Firm, who plan high end, extremely fancy weddings. Lottie starts hanging around with a talented photographer as friends, maybe more? She’s challenged when she has to plan her old boyfriend’s wedding to a famous woman, it forces her to examine her choices.

I liked the descriptions of the over-the-top weddings, some of them were outrageous! I thought the characters were well done, especially Lottie’s friends. It’s a quick read that wedding lovers will enjoy, 4 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was such a light fun read, yet was a little bit different from the average chick lit book that I have read in that there was more than one romantic possibility, and a little bit of mystery too.

After college graduation, Lottie becomes a wedding planner...straying from her original plans. I was not surprised when I read at the end that one of the authors is involved in event planning with all of the details and the events that happen to Lottie (I am wondering if some of them are inspired by true events). Lottie helps with some very entertaining events. This book shows how life is a series of choices, and paths that sometimes collide. I liked that towards the end of the story, there was a bit of mystery too which Lottie had to solve. If you are looking for a funny and easy read, and enjoy reading about weddings, I think that you will probably enjoy this book.

Thank you to Harper Muse, Mary Hollis Huddleston, Asher Fogle Paul and NetGalley for the opprotunity to read an advanced review copy.

Sadly, not the book for me.

I wanted more comedy, more romance, more *something* that this book was missing. I kinda knew I was going to have a hard time rooting for this particular protagonist when the book opened with her scheduling and planning a wedding immediately following her college graduation and having to cancel it because her and her boyfriend actually never talked about getting married (I mean, #yikes) and I wasn't seeing the strength or the growth I was hoping for with her character. A veryyyy slow start with several wedding snafus and just not enough personality from any of the characters.

Without a Hitch follows Lottie, who's lost in life. I thought that Lottie's friends were fun and enjoyed the scenes that they were in, as it added intrigue. I enjoyed the wedding hijinks, but I found that I got bogged down with details about the wedding. I would have loved to have more time with Lottie planning her ex-boyfriend's wedding.

While there is a romantic subplot, with different characters vying for Lottie's attention, I felt uninterested in the outcome. I wish that I had known this would be a story about self-discovery and figuring out your place in the world. I would have gone into it with a different mindset and would have enjoyed it more.

Without a Hitch was a cute romcom.

Lottie is a wedding planner and no amount of planning can save her from some laughable moments during weddings. Griffin, a wedding photographer is always open there to help save the day.

Everything seems to be going in Lottie’s favor…until she gets assigned to her college ex boyfriend’s secret wedding. Who happens to be a professional football player marrying a movie star. At the ex’s wedding Lottie finds herself in a love triangle between her ex, a guy she casually dated, and Griffin. And someone leaks pictures from the wedding which leads Lottie and Griffin being in hot water with their bosses.

I enjoyed this book and I looked forward to seeing what drama would result while Lottie was planning her ex’s wedding. The ending is not what I was hoping for BUT it didn’t ruin the book for me.

This was a well-written, entertaining book. It was fun, held my interest and I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Thanks to #harpermuse and #netgalley for an ARC of this delightful book. Lottie spent most of her college days planning her wedding instead of worrying about her law degree. When Brody said his goodbyes at graduation Lottie was heartbroken. How funny that she ended up becoming a wedding planner. The book was such a light fun read. I liked the parts about the expensive weddings and the bridezilla's but I also enjoyed seeing how Lottie grew up and found herself. Great read.

This book was a fun, entertaining story about Lottie Jones who, after a merger of companies, finds herself working for a top-tier event and wedding planning firm in Dallas, Texas. When the firm decides to expand to Atlanta, which opens up positions and Lottie sees a chance to make a place for herself. While Lottie is helping everyone else get their happily ever after, will she be able to get one of her own?

Oh man does this book include some fun and wild wedding scenes. Being a North Texas girl myself I loved all the Dallas-ism and the "everything's bigger in Texas" mentality that some of these weddings embraced. While all the wedding shenanigans were fun, the real intrigue in this story is Lottie's story and seeing her kind of rise from the ashes after a rough start. This book started really slow for me because there was a lot of focus on the weddings and Lottie's job. But as the story developed and we really got into the characters and saw Lottie's growth, I really enjoyed how it all unfolded.

Overall this is a fun read with a cute story. I wouldn't consider this a romance as much as a story about Lottie's personal growth and journey to find herself. I would give this one 3.5 stars.
