Dani Porter moved to the Seattle area to be with her fiancé, only to discover shortly before the wedding that he's cheating on her with their realtor. Understandably full of rage, she uses the savings that were intended to go towards the house they were buying together, to instead buy the vacant lot next door and build a vacation rental that will wreck his view and his peace of mind. Unfortunately that means working with Wyatt Montego, the stuffy, non-nonsense architect at the firm where she works as an interior designer.

Overall I enjoyed this story. The banter between Dani & Wyatt is great, and I enjoyed the process of them getting to know each other better, learning to trust each other and navigating a relationship while working together. The side characters were also fabulous and not afraid to call Dani out when she's being unreasonable. I almost wish there was another story about Mia and Matt because I wouldn't have minded seeing more of their relationship as it developed too.

Things that slightly bothered me were that I felt there were things mentioned and then dropped that might could have been explored further, like Dani's wool creations (and the fact that Wyatt's father has an alpaca farm!), the real reason behind why Wyatt seems to ignore people when they talk to him or talks over them in meetings, Dani & Wyatt learning to work together better as she learns that he's not trying to take decisions away from her and he learns to listen to other ideas. It was like there was just enough detail to get me interested in learning more about that aspect of either Dani or Wyatt or their families, but then it was never picked up again.

I recommend this one for fans of jilted fiancées getting sweet revenge on cheating fiancés. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for access to a digital review copy.

While moving on is always the recommended course of action after a breakup, sometimes it's hard not to linger. Especially when you're trying to move on from a man who was caught cheating with your relator right before your wedding. In this case, Dani Porter thinks revenge might be the best course of action to help her move on. Thus the Spite House is born from the minds of Dani, her friend Mia, and her new landlord Iris. Together they will pull money to build a vacation rental house on the property next to her Ex (Sam) that will mess with his view and give Dani the last word. The one thing they need to get things rolling on the Spite House is an architect, enter Wyatt Montego, the handsome yet aloof architect at the firm where Dani is an interior designer. In a surprise move of compassion, Wyatt agrees to work on their project if Dani will help his grandmother with an interior design project. However, as things get rolling on the project, Dani begins to see a new side to Wyatt and sparks begin to fly. But both Wyatt and Dani "aren't the dating type" and have some serious trust issues. Will the boundaries they put on their relationship protect their heart?

A fun humorous read for contemporary romance fans. The strongest point of this novel for me however was not the romance between Dani and Wyatt, but the development of the friendship between Dani, Mia, and Iris the landlord. I absolutely loved this trio and thought their relationship dynamic trumped everything else. The banter was fun though and there was a little sizzle between Dani and Wyatt. I will say Wyatt annoyed me a bit in terms of his ability communicate (or not). Things moved pretty quickly between the two and when you know you know, however, I still feel like Wyatt may have been more of a rebound man. Would recommend for fans of the enemies to lovers and a (mostly responsible) workplace romance.
