Interesting choice for a title. Since kitchen graters are in the story. At times the story is sad. Glad to see Abe and Robbie finally get married.

No Garter Crime is the ninth installment in the Country Store Mysteries series set in South Lick, Indiana and featuring Robbie Jordan, owner of Pans n' Pancakes. Robbie is looking forward to her upcoming wedding to Abe O'Neill, and just when she thinks she couldn't be happier a man dies from eating one of her delicious breakfasts.

Someone has mixed in poisonous mushrooms with Robbie's regular delivery order. Was it the new owners of the Antique Shop across the street who seem to have a grudge against Robbie's Aunt Adele? Perhaps the daughter of the couple who is trying to start a food truck and doesn't want competition, or was it Abe's ex-wife who is not happy the couple is getting married?

A fast paced plot delivers another home run for the series. Returning, well-developed characters and tons of mouthwatering dishes make for a great afternoon read. I must admit, this series always leaves me craving breakfast no matter what time of day.

I received an advanced copy of No Grater Crime from NetGalley via Kensington Publishing. While not required to write a review I am happy to offer my honest opinion.

I love this series. This book is the ninth in the series. I always like visiting South Lick, Indiana and Robbie and friends in particular. Ms. Day does not disappoint.

The characters are well-developed along with the plot. There are enough mis-directions to keep you guessing if you really know who the killer is.

I learned more about mushrooms, family trying to care for family, and Abe’s background.

No Grater Crime is the 9th book in the Country Store Mystery series by author Maddie Day and I can only wonder why I haven't read the other books in the series. No Grater Crime (totally love the wordplay) follows Robbie Jordan , owner of Pan's and Pancake who is preparing for her upcoming nuptials. NO GRATER CRIME is set after the real world pandemic and the restaurant is open for business but mayhem is never far away. Mayhem manifests when diners get sick and one person later dies which results in being shutdown .Robbie like any amateur sleuth doesn't wait for the police to catch the perpetrator by herself. If you want a cozy that will keep you entertained then this is the one for you . A huge thanks to Kensington Publishers for my e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Love this series, and I think this book was one of my favorites! Could not put it down.
Robbie Jordan is working hard to make her eatery and country store a success, while planning her wedding to Abe. Suddenly, everything comes to a halt when several people get sick, and one dies after eating her mushroom omelet. Robbie has. a feeling this is foul play and she suspects the family opening an antique store and food truck across the street from her establishment. Things get a little crazy for Robbie and her friends and family.
Great read with some laughs, mystery, family, and of course love.

This was super cute- what's not to love there's a murder, there's brunch/breakfast food and a wedding! I actually haven't read any of the other books in this series but it wasn't too hard to jump into the middle and figure out what was going on. I'm excited to go back and start the series from the beginning!

I have loved Maddie Day’s series, A Country Story Mystery, since I fell into the first book. The newest and ninth in the series, No Grater Crime. is my favorite since that wonderful first encounter with Robbie Jordan as she began her adventure with Pans ‘N Pancakes in South Lick, Indiana. Since that first book I have drooled over tons of meals, delighted in the new friends I made, and fallen not so slowly in love with Abe, the kind of guy that real life should put in front of every good woman so she has to trip over him to miss him.
A new competing business can’t seriously phase Robbie with her loyal base until something makes a whole group of clients ill and the health department closes her down. She knows that none of her staff were careless and is determine to track down how something dangerous got into her food. Once the source is revealed, she works to find out if an accidental mix up was behind the poisonings or if someone wants to destroy her business. Even wedding plans can’t compete with the idea that she and her restaurant could end up with a permanent black-eye.
Maddie Day has mentioned the wedding so it is no spoiler to share that the wedding was perfect for Abe and Robbie and capped off a rough month in the best possible way. I hope this is just a new beginning for Robbie and Abe, but if it is the end of the series, it is a glorious one.
I requested an ARC via NetGalley and was excited to have the request approved. I love the series and No Grate Crime is the best so far!

Another solid hit in the Country Store series! This was another fabulous and well-constructed story. What I love the most is that we’re seeing continual growth and development of the characters in the story as the series moves on - people change, grow, grow up, new phases of life, new friends. It keeps the series exciting and the wrap-up of the story has left me excited to see what the next installment will hold for Robbie and her crew.

Robbie Jordan is busy running her country store and café as she prepares for her upcoming marriage to Abe. An antiques store is set to open opposite her place, along with a food truck operated by the owners’ daughter of the new store. It turns pout that the couple, Francis and Hattie Sand, blame Robbie’s Aunt Adele for their son’s death. When patrons of the café become ill after eating Robbie’s daily special which contained mushrooms, she is forced to close down. Unfortunately, one of the diners dies and the investigation continues. It turns out that not only is the Sand’s son-in-law Robbie’s food supplier, he is also the brother of Abe’s ex-wife. Although the café is allowed to reopen and Robbie is cleared, the question remains as to who is responsible for the poisonous mushrooms.
Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC.

Robbie Jordan , owner of Pan's and Pancakes is preparing for her up coming wedding to Abe O'Neill. When several people get sick from eating her mushroom quiche special and someone even dies. She's shut down. Meanwhile a new shop opens across the road and a food truck appears. How convient. Turns out the owner of that food truck is married to Orlando Krueger who happens to be twin to Abe's ex Jan . Now Jan isn't happy that Abe and Robbie are getting married but would she go as far as switching mushrooms in Robbies food order? But then Jan tends up dying from the same mushrooms. Now what? Will Robbie even get to her wedding ceremony or is someone out to get her? Lots of good action.

Cozy mysteries are my favorite genre and Maddie Day is a great author! This is the ninth book in the series and I think they just keep getting better. I love reading about the restaurant and seeing the development of the characters that have been around from the beginning. This is a great series and I highly recommend it to anyone who also enjoys cozies!

Maddie Day's Country Store cozy series, set at a diner in southern Indiana, is a top cozy mystery series for me and this 9th installment in the series is among the very best.

A top notch plot, an interesting means of death, and characters I love like family all combine to make this a favorite mystery this year. More please!!

Highly recommended to anyone who likes cozy mysteries.

This was a great cozy mystery full of food and mayhem. Robbie Jordan owns Pans and Pancakes, a place that serves breakfast and lunch, and sells cookware. In this installment, someone steals her cookware and dies after eating poisonous mushrooms at her restaurant. Will Robbie find the truth before someone else dies?
Robbie is a very likeable character, and the side characters are quirky and fun. The plot was full of clues and red herrings. I thought I figured out the identity of the culprit, but I was surprised in the end. The romantic subplot of the wedding was sweet. I hope there is more to come. I received an advanced reader's copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely love this series by Maddie Day. I would love to go to Pans n Pancakes and have a delicious breakfast and browse in the store of antique kitchenware. This newest mystery does not disappoint! Robbie finds herself quite a pickle when a recent dinner dies after eating one of her omelets. Not to mention competition from a food truck who sets up right across the street! I highly recommend this series to cozy mystery lovers. Great characters and well written mysteries.

I have been a fan of this series since the beginning. It was great to see the same characters again. I was unfortunately disappointed with this book. I felt that the mystery was super obvious from the beginning and all the way through. In fact it was to the point that I thought that I couldn't imagine anyone not guessing early on. I had a few problems with mechanics. The timeline was weird. A lot happened and yet the days that passed did not match up. There were several instances in which the author seemed to forget what she had written. For instance, one day she wrote that Turner showed up on time. A few paragraphs later, she wrote that he wasn't there yet and was late. This kind of thing becomes frustrating to some of us who tend to visualize and follow along as we read.

We are back in South Lick Indiana at Pan's and Pancakes. Robbie and Adele are at a an antique fair when they run into a man who holds a 20 year grudge against Adele as he holds her responsible for the death of his son. I few days later disaster strikes at Pan and Pancakes as the crew is unknowingly delivered poisoned mushrooms that they serve to the dinners. As the store is shut down and Robbie is wondering if they will ever recover she is determined to find who committed the crime. With twist and turns and seeming to find no evidence that points at anyone will the culprit be found before some else is poisoned? This book is a great addition to the series and I am looking forward to the next book.

Robbie and her Aunt Adele are shopping at a flea market when they bump into FELIX and Hattie. Once they were friends of Adele's but F blames her for his son's suicide 20 years ago. Much to Robbie's surprise she discovers they're opening an Antique shop across the street from her restaurant. Though she sells antique kitchen ware, the bulk of her profit comes from the diner so she's not too concerned.
When several customers become sick and one dies after eating mushroom omelets at Robbie’s restaurant she gets closed down by the Health department. When she hears that she may be charged with negligent homicide for serving poison mushrooms she realizes she has to find out who put the mushrooms in her delivery order.
Cozy mysteries are not supposed to be super mysteries, sometimes the reader figures out quickly who the killer is. The reader reads the series because of the characters and the character development. I've heard it described as visiting old friends. And that's exactly what this book is, a visit to the town of South Lick, Indiana. I enjoy this type of book, but sometimes the lack of a good strong mystery is a bit disappointing.
