I enjoy all of Debbie Macomber's books, but the Christmas books are my ultimate favorites, & this one didn't disappoint! I am a fan of the hometown return, enemy to love & taking a chance on love, stories and this book has all 3 in 1!
Lindy goes home for the holidays to "get over" a rough patch in her life. Once there, her Mom gives her the old letters to Santa that she had written. In a moment of nostalgia, Lindy decides to write a letter to Santa, asking for things that may change her life, for the better. As the days go by, Lindy is forced to change her opinion on some things and given a difficult decision to make in regards to her future.
This book was heartwarming, fun to read and made me "believe" again. 5 stars

This story centers around Lindy. Her mother gives her the letters that Lindy wrote to Santa when she was younger and how each thing that Lindy asked for she got. So Lindy as an adult decides to write a letter to Santa. I love how the story unfolds after she writes the letter to Santa !!
I would love to see this book made into a movie !!

Dear Santa by Debbie Macomber is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season, even if if is still August! Maybe that's the real magic here- that the warmth and feel good sentiments need not be limited to December. Christmas is year round!
Debbie Macomber writes books with real people, facing real situations. In this case, Lindy must contend with job stressors as well as the break up of her relationship and the betrayal of her best friend. As the story unfolds we ponder whether it truly is possible to go home again. And we consider the big question- does Santa really read our letters?

Debbie Macomber just gets better and better, doesn't she? Dear Santa is just the right kind of light, airy, sweet and Christmas magical book that I think we're all looking for. It has all of the Hallmark movie elements, from going home to a sweet town, being with family and replenishing your soul, to healing, and of course the handsome small business guy from town...with whom the main character has some history. It has everything, and belongs with you under a warm blanket on a cool night with hours left free of stress and worries for your reading pleasure. When it's a Debbie Macomber book, you never have to worry if your time will be well-spent. You'll absorb this story. You'll cast the actors in your mind for the TV movie. It's just perfect for reading delight and a bit of an escape. This one is a great choice for book club exchanges and neighbor presents.

Love this book! I'm a huge fan of Debbie's Christmas books but this may be my favorite! Light hearted, Christmas cheer, with such a good ending. I really liked the letters to Santa and the Santa in the book when he's interacting with Lindy. Really makes you believe in the season.

Another wonderful Christmas tale from Debbie Macomber. She can always be counted on to put me in the holiday spirit and this book is no different. This book focuses on Lindy, a young woman home for Christmas who is at a crossroads in her life. It has romance and a bit of holiday magic with Macomber's classic, wholesome style. If you are looking to jumpstart your Christmas spirit this book will get you there!

This is the perfect Christmas story that will make you believe in Santa again. Lindy comes home for the holidays having been betrayed by her boyfriend and her best friend. She's not really in the holiday spirit until she reads some of the old "Dear Santa" letters her mother kept from when Lindy was a little girl. Realizing that Santa did answer them, she starts to write to him again. Reconnecting with her best friend and Will, the boy who tormented her in grade school, gives her a new perspective on the season and what is really important in life. Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved this book. Loved the characters in this wonderful heartwarming holiday romance. I could not put the book down. I’ve read quite of few of Debbie MacCombers books, but this is my favorite. Would love to see it as a Hallmark movie!!!

Lindy is returning home for Christmas with a broken heart, questioning her trust and no creativity. She feels empty inside. Her mother is waiting with open arms and a box of letters. A letter to Santa and a cup of coffee change start her healing process and lights a spark in her life.
There is nothing like a Debbie Macomber story to lighten your soul. “Dear Santa” is the perfect novel to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee. I loved that Lindy’s mother saved her letters to Santa and the creative way that Macomber answered the requests. It is too late for me to save by children’s letters but I will have boxes ready for Christmas for my children to save their children’s letters.

Dear Santa by Debbie Macomber is a sweet, holiday romance that is both heartwarming and delightful. This book could easily turn into a Hallmark movie as it’s everything you’d expect on the Hallmark Channel for a holiday movie. There are enough cute Christmassy events, but not too much to make it saccharine.

Lindy Carmichael returns to her parent’s home in Wenatchee, Washington, for Christmas. She has two weeks to spend with her parents and spend time with her friends. Leaving her home in Seattle is just the break she needs now as she recently caught her boyfriend and best friend together and she’s feeling down about the job that is not giving her the creative outlet she needs. At home, she finds an old box of letters she wrote to Santa as a child. Reading the letters, she realized that most of them have come true.

While in her hometown, she runs into her childhood nemesis, Billy, who owns and manages The Wine Press, a local restaurant. She realized that Billy was a bully to her during school because he liked her. And she also feels bad that she asked Santa to put a lump of coal in Billy’s stocking when they were little, and then shortly after that, Billy and his family left town.

Debbie Macomber can write a sweet, lovely Christmas story like nobody else. She balances some tough issues, inside a sweet small town, with just a bit of Christmas magic that is perfect for the holiday season. I could feel the conflict that Lindy was going through and couldn’t wait for her to find her way to happiness. As usual, this Debbie Macomber Christmas story does not disappoint.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet holiday romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Her mother also insisted that she write a letter to Santa as Santa has made her requests come true thus far. Will Lindy find comfort in the letters like her mother is insisting they will bring? Will Lindy take her mother’s advice and write the Santa letter or will she think it’s so ridiculous that she will refuse to write it? This heartwarming book about self discovery, love and second chances will have you turning the pages to find out.

I loved how Debbie Macomber got her inspiration for this book from an aspiring author, age 12, who knew she wanted to become an author when she started writing letters to Santa.

A fun light read to kick off your holiday reading! A great pick for book clubs as well!

Ahhhh, another quaint little Christmas romance from the amazing DM! Much better than last year's Christmas novel set during the summer on the Amazon.

For those seeking a traditional HEA Debbie Macomber book with all the extra romance that a snowy Christmas setting gives you, this is it. It's a bit cliche in parts but I feel that's to be expected so it doesn't bother me as much as it may bother some.

All in all, it's a great book to cuddle up on the couch with as Fall sets in.

I have always wanted to try reading a novel by Debbie Macomber and I found her heartwarming Christmas themed story to be just the great feel good escape that I was hoping for. It was definitely filled with a bit of magical realism but it worked out well in this novel. I really enjoyed this and will be seeking out more of this Author's work which is vast. I really appreciate a well told story that warms the heart with lovable characters so I got exactly what I had expected in this tale of Christmas wishes.

Lindy and her mother are close and when Lindy who comes home for the Christmas holidays reeling from the discovery of her boyfriend who has picked her best friend to cheat on her with, who wouldn't feel down trodden? Lindy is just reaching the pinnacle of achieving recognition at Media Blast where she is a website designer.

Her mother reminds her of her childhood Christmas's when she wrote a letter to Santa Clause. She remembers and decides to write another letter to Santa. There are sleigh rides and sledding where snow fall is welcomed reminding me fondly of my own childhood when the cold of Winter's didn't bother me as much as it does now. What's not to love about being transported back in fond memories of the Christmas magic of our youth?

This was much shorter than I anticipated and can be easily be read in just a couple of hours. I enjoyed every minute of it and will seek out more of Debbie Macomber's Christmas novels probably waiting to savor them closer to the Christmas holiday as a treat to myself. Her novel "Dear Santa," is balm for the soul and if you are looking for a journey into your own memory bank of the glorious Christmas's that enraptured you while you still believed in Christmas miracles then look no further than this narrative which was as delightful as a cup of hot chocolate and your favorite Christmas cookies.

Lindy comes home to Washington for the holidays to lick her wounds and maybe start the new year in a much better place. The man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with had other ideas with her best friend. She doesn't think there will be much joy at Christmas this year. Her mother finds a box of her old letters to Santa from her childhood. She reads through them and realizes that Santa answered her request each year. He brought her her best friend, the class bully that was bothering her disappeared. With her mother's encouragement she tried it again this year. Will her Christmas wishes come true and will she have her happily ever after? This is the perfect story for those that still believe in Santa.

Lindy Carmichael is leaving Seattle where she now lives and works to Wenatchee for a very welcomed two weeks off work to celebrate Christmas and New Year's with her family. She has the job of her dreams with Media Blast which designs and markets web content. She had just submitted a campaign for Ferguson Group, one of her company's biggest clients, which if accepted, will bring her the recognition she desires. She is also very unhappy. Her best friend and roommate in Seattle and Lindy's boyfriend had left…together. Once home her mother gives her a box containing all her letters to Santa Claus. She begins reading them as her mother hands them to her and sees all her wishes were granted. Her first letter in kindergarten was asking Santa to bring her a daddy. Her own had left her mother when he found out she was pregnant. That Christmas day, Phillip had entered their life, married her mother, and adopted Lindy. Next year she asked Santa for a sister, but while he sent a brother, Lindy was happy. She continues to read her letter to Santa. Another year she wished Santa to give Billy Kincade, her nemesis in second grade, coal for Christmas. He disappeared from school. Her mom tells her to write a new letter to Santa. She does, asking Santa for a man like he brought her mother, and if he could clone a friend like her childhood best friend Peggy, and that Ferguson Group would accept her proposal.

The next day she stops at a Starbucks. The woman waiting in line in front of her turns out to be her childhood best friend Peggy. Peggy suggests they have a girls' night out at the new restaurant The Wine Press. There she meets the restaurant's owner, Billy, now Will, Kincade. It seems her Christmas wish for him became true, too. However, a new attraction grows between Lindy and Billy. He helps her over the hurt her former boyfriend gave her. While their mutual attraction is exciting, she is only in Wenatchee for a short time, so how can it continue when she leaves for Seattle? Will Santa help her again?

DEAR SANTA is a relatively short novel, but a very entertaining read, especially with Santa showing up to help Lindy through her many dilemmas.

Sensing Lindy's unhappiness, her mother gives her a box of letters to Santa that Lindy had written over the years. Reading them, with the benefit of hindsight, Lindy decides Santa did all right by her. When her mother suggests she write another letter to Santa she does and the story begins.
This is a sweet, warm Christmas story, with a bit of romance and good descriptions of food.
