A good book getting you into the mind set of just getting rid of the items you don't really need anymore. Gives you motivation to get the ball rolling and how to not get discouraged.

Are you overwhelmed with all of your stuff? Do you feel like you are constantly cleaning up your stuff instead of spending time with your family or truly relaxing after a busy day? If you answered yes to these questions then this book is for you. I devoured this quick but useful book and now I feel equipped with the knowledge and motivation to declutter my home. Allie addresses how and where to get started in your home, some of the tough questions or situations that might arise during the process, as well as how to keep your home decluttered after you have done it the first time. Not only is this book a great reference but there are so many additional resources on her website that I will be utilizing as well.

I really liked this. I’m needing to do some decluttering too and this helped me a bunch with all that goes through your head when needing to do that. It’s a great book to help you minimize and declutter your home Thank you #NetGalley , the author, and publishers for the opportunity to read and review #DeclutterLikeAMother with my honest thoughts and opinions.

A little about me before I go on with this review. For the first 12+ years of my life, I grew up in an attic apartment with barely 60m²… with a sharply sloping roof that stole at least 10m² from our living space but a garden that was more than 160m².

The other side of the coin is clutter! What is the use of a 100 or 300m² home if you fill it with stuff that no one needs?
Something I have been wary after we moved out of that tiny apartment, so books like this are always welcome.

Allie takes our hand and guides us through our cluttered/messy homes. The book tries to stay matter-of-fact with the topic, yet friendly and with an unpretentious language to help you through the process of decluttering.

My favourite chapters, for example, were…
CHAPTERS 2, 3, 6, 7 & 9.

Now for the ugly part… the part where I tell you what I DIDN’T like. What I missed in this book and what wasn’t for me.

There were no photographs, no floor plans, no lists, no images at all. I wasn’t happy about that; I wanted at least a few nice before/after photos, you know?
I was also a bit disappointed that this book didn’t have that many new ideas or takes on the topic of decluttering.

All in all, it’s a 3.8 🌟 rating.

I didn't like this book. I've not heard of the author, so her way of writing was to me more of a stream of conscious chatter with fans than a book for people looking for help with de-cluttering. I picked up the book on my NetGalley account as I thought the new year would be a good time for a quick clear out. Nah, this wasn't going to help me. I found the advice pretty standard for this type of book and because it was written in such a long-form and repetitive way, it was difficult to find the actual information within the chatter. It is in need of a MASSIVE edit.

I'm fairly sure after (eventually) getting through it, that this was written for her fans. "Hey Girl!" and "You Got This!" aren't really the types of help I was looking for... I'm not 12...

Thank you to NetGalley and Nelson Books for access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

Short and to the point. I like Allie's style of writing and that she kept things very simple.
I enjoyed that she went through different rooms of the house.
I think her tips were something that would be easy to follow and not make things too complicated.
Definitely had me checking out all her socials and what further she had to offer.
I think just based off the book I feel encouraged to tackle some problem areas in my own house.

Thank you NetGalley and Nelson Books, Thomas Nelson for the arc.

An average book written by a blogger/podcaster about decluttering. Nothing really earth-shattering noted here between these pages, as expected from a blogger who tries to influence the masses by being their online "friend" and pal. Her writing is average, book does have profanity in it, which I don't object to, just not sure it was necessary and didn't really strengthen any of her points. And when used as lame attempts at mom-humor, felt pushed and tended to fall flat. Her writing also tended to be seem a bit juvenile and along the line of conversational and chatty, which may work for a blog or podcast, but generally doesn't work well for books where the reader is looking for more mature thoughts and ideas and clean, crispy, adult writing. That's not what you'll find with this one at all. Maybe that's why this one struck out for me.

I'm always trying, unsuccessfully, to declutter, so when I had the opportunity to review this book, you'd better bet I jumped on it. The author shares great tips and strategies to take you from cluttered to clutter free.

I read this a few years ago but this book read so easily and we'll. I literally felt like I could hear Allie talking to me in her voice. The way she outlined the approaches made decluttering so much easier. I used to struggle really bad with decluttering and I still use her techniques to this day. I also ended up purchasing the audiobook and have listened to it multiple times for reminders and a mental refresh when I tackle new decluttering projects because decluttering is an always moving cycle.

"Declutter Like a Mother: A Guilt-Free, No-Stress Way to Transform Your Home and Your Life" by Allie Casazza offers a practical and encouraging guide to decluttering, emphasizing a guilt-free and stress-free approach. The book stands out for its empowering message and hands-on strategies for transforming both living spaces and lifestyles.

One of the book's notable strengths is Casazza's emphasis on removing the emotional weight often associated with decluttering. The author's encouraging tone and practical tips make the process accessible for readers at various stages of their organizational journey. Casazza's personal anecdotes add a relatable touch, fostering a sense of camaraderie with those seeking to declutter.

The book's structure is well-organized, allowing readers to navigate through the decluttering process efficiently. Casazza provides actionable steps and real-life examples, making it easy for readers to implement changes in their own homes. The emphasis on creating a guilt-free and stress-free environment distinguishes this book, making it especially appealing for those who may feel overwhelmed by the clutter in their lives.

However, some readers may find the book lacking in a more in-depth exploration of the psychological aspects of clutter and attachment to belongings. While the book offers practical strategies, a deeper examination of the emotional connection to possessions could enhance the understanding of decluttering as a transformative process.

In conclusion, "Declutter Like a Mother" offers an empowering and practical approach to decluttering, making it a valuable resource for those seeking a more organized and simplified lifestyle. Allie Casazza's emphasis on a guilt-free process sets the book apart, providing motivation for readers to embark on their decluttering journey with confidence. While a deeper dive into the emotional aspects could enhance the book's depth, its overall message and actionable advice make it a recommended read for anyone looking to transform their home and life.

This book is mostly suitable for young mothers, but it is also helpful for others who just want some decluttering tips. Allie Casazza's suggestion that readers look at each room, and decide what their intent is, is useful. I also liked her tip of starting with the bathroom first. She has a chapter on decluttering your wardrobe, which is excellent. However, I am not sure that this book will assist book and magazine-lovers as much as those with toys and family 'stuff'. Ultimately, you just have to work at it, and she does have good suggestions for that, such as spending thirty minutes a day decluttering.

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Thank you very much to the author, publisher and NetGalley for allowing me the privilege of reviewing this book. I loved this book the author is extremely relatable, and encouraging. There is a little run on for the beginning portions of the book that did feel a little bit like a lot to get through. But once I did I'm glad that I did! I loved looking at things in the concept of time and there were a bunch of times this book made me really reassess my thinking around my home that I need and I loved it so much!

This was so hard to get through. It was full of fluff. I couldn’t find any real or concrete steps or advice in here. It was just Allie rambling to fill a book. I really wanted to like this one!

What a fun and inspiring read! And I felt like the author had perhaps spied on me during all of my decluttering mishaps. I did lots of laughing and twice as much cringing. It’s great to know I’m not alone in this journey that felt so overwhelming.
