This was a dose of reality for me. I struggle with staying organized and that leads me to feeling shame. Allie really helped put things into perspective and one of the big take aways for me was to start small and stay motivated. I will recommend this to my mom friends.

I received this a free ARC from NetGalley. It basically helps you find your level of minimalism. This would not be my first choice of book recommendation for decluttering or organizing. It did not bring out any new information and felt like a rehashing of her blog. The book just felt blah.

As someone who has struggled with “things” accumulating this was a wonderful read. I’ve read many “decluttering” books and this one just feels real and raw.

Thanks to Netgalley for the copy for my honest review.

In a crowded market, DECLUTTER LIKE A MOTHER stands out due to its lack of judgment of the reader. It feels human and humane.

Free copy from #Netgalley=honest review. I have read A LOT of decluttering books. It has been a while and I thought I would give this one a try. I like the seemingly snarky title (even though it's much more innocent than I thought) and needed a refresher on all the things I already know and should be doing. It started out a bit on the religious side and it definitely spent a great deal of time nurturing the mother angle (cleaning out kids' things, helping them part ways with their favorite stuffies, etc), but I actually got a lot out of this book. It really centered around making your space YOURS and not following scripted and arbitrary rules laid out by other gurus. Setting your intent for the space and building around that will be much more effective than doing it like the Jones'. This book gave me a lot of confidence to do it my way and I found Allie Casazza very relatable and authentic. Would recommend!

Declutter Like A Mother really helped me break through my house clutter crutch!

As a wife and mom, and growing up with mild hoarding tendencies, it's easy to get bogged down until one day you almost feel like you are swimming in all the frivolous crud we live and move around daily. It's so easy to let those dollar meal toys and all the papers the kids bring home pile up until you feel almost paralyzed at where to start.

Allie gives some great tips and tricks to just get started. Then she pulls you through working mental processes on how to continue. She breaks up the journey in just 30 minutes at a time type decluttering until you finish 1 room. Allie also gives some tips on how not to get bogged down until an entire room looks like it exploded and you have no idea what goes where and you're crying over a toy your kids touched maybe a 6 years ago but you have memories. (sigh) I know, it gets emotional sometimes.

I enjoyed reading this. I have some new strategies and new ideas on how to handle going more minimal in my own household. I've started a few things but I am really looking forward to employing all of them throughout the house.

I definitely recommend it for those looking to start on a path to workable minimalism.

*I had the absolute privilege of getting an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley and I could not be more grateful. All thoughts and comments are my own.*

Allie Casazza hit a homerun with her tips and tricks to help us feel like we don't have to live in a perfectly organized, clean home at all times. With words of wisdom throughout, this book is one for anyone who feels they have a certain standard they must meet in order to feel like they are perfectly kept. Physical clutter is mental clutter and this book shows you ways to eliminate the clutter. Great job and highly recommend reading this book!

Declutter Like a Mother by Allie Casazza is an amazing book for mothers and everyone really. This is not just another decluttering book. I really enjoyed the author's approach to editing our lives to make room for what we value most. This is a book to read and absorb and read again. Great book overall. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

This is a fantastic book if you are looking to declutter and minimize your home. While none of it was earthshattering or new, it was a wonderful refresher on the importance of pairing down your home. Allie walks you through the steps of decluttering your home and making your home work for you. I would have loved more concrete examples of ways to simplify routines and household management in general. However, if you have too much stuff and are looking for mays to minimalize, this is a great start.

This book is PERFECT for the minimalist lifestyle! I have de-cluttered my house and feel much "freer" and "light." This book teaches you how to make any space less stressful and more "zen."

I have been following Allie for years, and this book was a long time coming! Even if you are very familiar with Allie's work and her ideas about decluttering, this book will not feel redundant or repetitive. Plus, it's nice to have her ideas distilled into one book that you can keep on your shelf.

Book received for free through Netgalley

I follow Allie Casazza on social media and, for a bit, podcasts for a while so when I saw she wrote a book I hopped on it. I didn't read it through but I'm glad I came across it as it's a great informational source. I could see this being a great book to see at the library or something to see if her style works for you and then buying if you want it as a reference. Overall a great informative book.

I really need this book. After a lifetime of collecting stuff, I just feel overwhelmed. This is taking me on a journey to a lighter life.

This book really spoke to me with the title and the cover. As a mom of two young kids, I am drowning in "stuff". It seems nearly impossible to find the drive and energy and time to declutter along with everything else that's necessary with running a life and home on a daily basis. I think this book could have been viewed in a different way that could have been more helpful to people in a similar place. Yes it's beneficial to start in an area that has low sentimental attachment, but how do I find even 5 minutes to declutter when the baby is coloring on the walls? How will this help me in my day to day overwhelm? I think there are a lot of books and resources on decluttering but I was looking for something more mom-centric.
