My second book by Elle Kennedy. It follows the story of Mac and Cooper and although it did have a few tropes I was not a fan of, I did enjoy parts of it. The story was predictable and I do wish there was an epilogue to it, which I think could have helped the story, but alas it did not.

Thank you for a review copy of this title. This was a great read! I enjoyed the characters and fell in love with them very quickly. I had a vested interest in watching the two main characters fall in love. This book had a lot of heart poured into it. This book would be perfect for a book club. Overall, an amazing read and can't wait for her next book.

From the beginning I could tell it wasn’t going to be my favorite from this author. For this having tropes that I adore, I was pretty dissatisfied. It felt immature and obnoxious.

Classic cute love story with the perfect amount of witty banter and spice. I loved to coastal town atmosphere which would make it a perfect read for the beach.

The only book that didn't work for me was Good Girl Complex - I love Elle Kennedy because she typically writes wonderful, relatable female leads and this one missed the mark for me.

This was a quick, fun read. I've heard it compared to "After" by Anna Todd, but I haven't read that, so I can't compare. Therefor, it was an enjoyable read for me because I loved the premise.

Elle Kennedy has always been fun reads for me and this was somewhat a let down. This book was full of cheating, bullying, and all around just bad people and characters.

I enjoyed this book and the slow burn, story of opposites attract. I have found a good author whose books I've enjoyed and am reading more and more of as I come across them. The MC's, Mac and Cooper, were a really cute couple that I fell in love with. I always love a snarky character and bantering between two people, and they filled the bill where that's concerned. I am anxious to read the next book and see where their relationship goes. There was a lot of drama in the story, probably too much for my liking, but I still really enjoyed the book overall.

Honestly this book wasn't my favorite! But I did still enjoy it. I know a lot of people don't like the cheating trope but I personally don't mind it. I was getting major outer banks vibes and I love that show so much. This was a quick read!

"If your heart's telling you to follow something - go for it. Don't let anyone hold you back, because life is too damn short."

What a wonderful book for the summer weather we've been getting over here🌞 Mac Cabot has always been a people pleaser. She's spent her whole life doing what her loved ones have expected of her. These loved ones included her parents, her friends from prep school, and her picture-perfect boyfriend. These are all people who always expect her to be perfect all the time. Mac's been trying to get her college degree for her parents' happiness, when her heart really wants to focus on her internet business. But of course, she's a people pleaser, so she enters Garnet College. Now, what happens at Garnet College? In comes Cooper Hartley, everyone's favourite bad boy. Cooper hates people like Mac, who have trust funds and are known to be rich snobs. But under not so great circumstances, Mac and Cooper become friends. BUT WE ALL KNOW THEY'RE NOT REALLY GOING TO BE JUST FRIENDS. As Mac and Cooper put their opposite worlds aside and learn more about each other, they realize that there's more than what the casual eye sees. Mac isn't like those other rich kids who cause trouble using their trust funds, while Cooper isn't always a bad boy with bad intentions. The sparks between the two will make your heart swoon😭 A wonderful book about staying true to oneself and learning not to judge a book by its cover.

This was the perfect story for the summer to read, I love this author's writing because you need to just read in one sitting.

I love Elle Kennedy but unfortunately this one didn't do it for me. Maybe because I'm older than the characters, I felt annoyed at their immaturity...it's a cute book and a classic romance, would be a good quick and easy vacation book but not adding it to my permanent bookshelf.

Mackenzie “Mac” is successful, comes from money but also has her own successful internet business. Forced to go to college by her parents. Then comes along “bad boy” Cooper. Friends to lovers, opposites attract trope. Their chemistry was good and they were both stubborn. I liked seeing Mac get through her past break up and realizing what she does matters and she is very successful and should be proud of herself.
I enjoyed this.

Thank you Elle, Netgalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for my eARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions and words are my own.

Not for me but I'm sure its for someone. I kept finding myself making weird faces and thinking about how overly cheesy (in an unrealistic way) that everything in here was.

Thanks to NetGalley / Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for a review.

Is there anything more summer-y than a series set in a small beach town with all the rom-com feels? I’m so happy I waited till the summer to read Elle Kennedy’s Avalon Bay series!

I just finished Good Girl Complex and I’m halfway through the second book and I am just in love with this series! I haven’t read an Elle Kennedy book in ages and ages & I’d forgotten how much I love her writing and stories.

Cooper and Mackenzie checked all my favorite small town romance tropes and though I almost had a heart attack at that almost to the end break up.. I loved how it ended! I can’t wait to read more on Coop’s twin Evan!

I gave thisbook 3.5 Stars

Elle Kennedy is one of my absolute favourite authors, so I had really high hopes for this book. Unfortunately it fell a little short.
That's not to say it wasn't an enjoyable read, it's just that I really wanted to absolutely love this book. The plot the characters and they just didn't vibe. I am interested in continuing the series, but sadly this might be one I get from the library instead of purchase.

Because second chance romance isn’t my favorite trope, I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would! Elle had a fresh take on the trope, which gave this its push to 4 stars. Any other author writing this wouldn’t be able to do half of what she can!
