Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

To be honest I cannot put down this book. I really love the adventurous Cara when she decided to go to Ireland and being in love for a stranger who she barely know, yes it was Finn everyone. Presenting our word of affirmation guy the way he compliment Caraa, agghhhhhh.

If you enjoy romantic comedies, this book is for you. It's sweet and funny. The characters are fun and interesting with a good circle of friends. Plenty of chemistry for the main characters, even though all steamy scenes take place behind closed doors. A light, enjoyable read.

Sometimes you just need a light fluffy romance to end your day...or your night as in my case. I started reading this book and was close to finishing it but decided I needed to go to sleep since it was about midnight. Well, I couldn't fall asleep so thought it was best to just finish the book. And what do you know, I could go to sleep after that!

Cara ends up in Ireland despite a breakup with her boyfriend. She was supposed to go with him but decided that she had the ticket and why not go and get a stamp in her passport. Granted, there is always the chance that she will run into him since they are staying in the same hotel, but maybe not. Yeah, that is wishful thinking on Cara's part. Things don't go well on arrival as her luggage is still in London, but Cara is a trooper and makes the most of her moment including a hunky Uber driver, Finn, who kindly lends her his sweater since her previous ride splashed her. But this is a good thing because there is chemistry between the two and fate intervened to put them in the same car so they could meet. It doesn't hurt that Finn has a dog, Oscar Wilde, that decides he really likes Cara. Just another sign that something should happen between the two...and boy do things happen between these two!

This was just a fun read! It is fast-paced and so much happens for Cara and Finn once they arrive in the states. Everything is going along smoothly until some information arises that has Cara questioning Finn's motivation. I won't spoil it but had I been in Cara's shoes, I would have thought the same thing and wouldn't have known any differently. However, Finn knew and he chose not to disclose this tidbit of information. I understand his motivation, he fell for Cara right off the bat and didn't want to let her go.

I loved Cara's friends, Julia and Jonathan, they are quite a hoot and help to round out the storyline in various places. Plus they are good sounding boards for various issues that arise.

While the book is mostly happiness, there are also some growing moments for Cara and Finn which help balance the romance in the story.

I think Oscar (the dog) steals the show and I really enjoyed the epilogue told from his perspective. Something happens that I suspected might have happened from earlier in the book but we don't know until the epilogue.

This was one of my favorite lines from the book

"Besides, it's not like I married you because of your career." He winked, "I just needed a mother for Oscar."

A fun book and we give it 5 paws up.

Cara and Finn's story was a cute read, but not necessarily all I was expecting it to be. I liked the characters well enough and found that they complemented each other nicely. I enjoyed their banter and their camaraderie. However, I felt like the story would have benefited of a little bit more heat. Although Cara and Finn's chemistry and the tension between them was talked about on the page, I expected a little bit more of their encounters than just being told it had happened. This wasn't necessarily a deal-breaker for me, but it was one of the elements that was lacking in the story for me to believe the romance was viable. IDK, I guess I like what I like.

In the end, I enjoyed the premise and the overall story but I didn't become invested in the romance as much as I would have wanted.

All in all, an okay read.

Thank you NetGalley for an EARC in exchange for an honest review. I am going to be honest, I just don't think this authors writing style is for me. I didn't feel attached to any of the characters and the plot just fell flat for me. I felt the same about her first book, "Happy Singles Day" but decided to give this book a chance. It just wasn't for me. If you are looking for a quick and easy read then I would recommend this book.

If you’re looking for a light rom-com with a swoony love interest and fade-to-black sex scenes, this is the right fit for you!

There was so much about this book that I enjoyed. Unfortunately, the ending felt a little bit rushed and I absolutely hated the choice that was made for the epilogue. I don’t want to spoil anything, but you’ll know exactly what I mean when you get there.

This was a fun light read, that had me cracking up a few times, and realizing that sometimes one too many whiskeys doesn’t just lead to a bad hang over, it can lead to an accidental husband.

There is also a super cute doggo!

If you need something light, cute, that’ll make your heart warm; this is for you!

3.75/5 stars

Not going to lie, the first thing that pulled me into this book was the dog on the cover. After the intrigue from the cover I had to look at what the book was actually about and that's when it really got me. As the title suggests the plot of the story kicks off around leap day and its slightly reminiscent of the movie Leap Year which is still one of my favorites so I knew I had to give this one a shot.

It was slightly slow to get into but the second half of the book really picked up and I swooned. By the time the ending came around I had shed a few tears and a few chuckles and was glad for the journey this book brought me. Would I have loved more time over seas? Always. But also the way it all ended up playing out was great and understandable. The epilogue being told in a different pov was a little unusual and probably could've done without that pov as I found it rather odd but did enjoy the information given in it.

Overall it was a cute romcom but also had moments of finding yourself and enjoying all of life's moments. I will definitely be looking forward to more by this author and will be getting to the first book in this series hopefully soon.

Don’t look. Don’t question. Don’t second guess. Just take a leap…straight into LUCKY LEAP DAY by Ann Marie Walker. Buy the book, clear your schedule, and dive into this funny, endearing, utterly charming story that stole my heart and refuses to give it back. I laughed, cried, sighed, swooned, and cheered through the entire story. Everything about this book checked my happy reader boxes, from the beautifully developed cast of characters, to the vividly depicted settings, to Finn’s lopsided smile and Irish brogue (*melts*), to the sweetly sexy (yes, they can both exist side by side and while love scenes are all closed door I never felt like I was missing one bit of the emotion or chemistry between these two) romance, to Cara learning to embrace her spontaneous side and reach for her dreams, to Oscar the dog who never shares his thoughts (until the epilogue) but still manages to get his point across (as any dog owner will understand), unexpected twists and turns, and more. Finn and Cara danced their way across my mind as if I was sitting in a dark theater watching them bring their story to life on a big screen. Which, by the way, they absolutely should be doing! I want to sit in that theater, laughing out loud, swooning through heartfelt sighs, sobbing into tissues when everything goes sideways, and leaping to my feet, clapping until my hands sting, while cheering until my voice cracks as their HEA plays out across the screen. Kind of like I did last night while reading LUCKY LEAP DAY.

This book is the perfect in between book to use as a mood buster or to prevent a slump! It was such a fun romance and I wish I could hear Finn's voice with that Irish accent.
Highly recommend and so glad to have read this one.

This was a cute romance. I enjoyed Cara's character, and her narration. The romance was fun, and overall this was a good read. I did find some of the things in this to be a little too much. The fact that they would need to both move back to America and live together to make the divorce work was odd, and I was looking for something that made more sense. I think rom-com readers will enjoy this!

Lucky Leap Day by Ann Marie Walker is a contemporary romantic comedy that is sweet and humorous. A story that sweeps you into the romance with heart-felt moments and undeniable chemistry. Lucky Leap Day shows that whiskey can lead to many things like hangovers and husbands!

Quick Review!

LUCKY LEAP DAY by Ann Marie Walker
Thank you @sourcebookscasa and @netgalley for the egalley!

This was a sweet closed door rom com with a swoonworthy Irish love interest 😍 Cara goes to Ireland after a break up and meets Finn🥰 and after some spontaneous Whiskey fueled decisions on Leap Day, they wake up married!

This was a quick review so here’s some bullet points of what I liked…

🇮🇪 The settings! Ireland! And LA! The movie biz scene! I love books with travel where the characters find love far from home and have to decide how to make it work.

🥰Swoony male lead with an Irish accent! I read all his parts with an Irish accent in my head.

🐶 The dogs

🍀 Leap Day tradition

👵🏻 Pippa! I’ve said it before but I love when a hero or heroine has an older friend that meddles in their love life!

✍🏻 The Epilogue! An adorable spin on the traditional one year later chapter.

This book pairs well with the color green, whiskey, good luck and hot uber drivers.

❤️❤️ out of 5
This book had a really strong start and despite the overuse of the “waking up with a hangover and married” trope today, I personally LOVE this trope! This book was sweet and cute but a certain plot point at the 60% mark lost me a bit.

Our heroine is on holidays in Ireland recovering from being dumped when she wakes up one morning with a very bad whisky hangover. However, she doesn’t wake up alone…. Next to her is her new Irish husband she doesn’t remember marrying! She has to catch a flight back home to LA and she asks her new husband to come back with her to sort out an annulment. Although once she returns back to LA with her new husband and spends time with him she’s not all too sure she wants an annulment.

This book was very easy to read and I read it in one sitting. The characters themselves were engaging even though we only get the book from the heroine’s POV. However an unrealistic sub plot thrown in way too late felt like it came out of left field and changed the direction of the story and I couldn’t get behind it 🤷🏻‍♀️.

CW: fade to black (yes I feel the need to include this so others won’t be as disappointed as I was)

Lucky Leap Day was a cute and fluffy rom-com. The characters were fine, and their relationship was cute. My only issue with the book is that it lacks the character development and relationship development that make a romance great. I enjoyed this book, and I would read another book in this universe, but it's not one of my favorite rom coms.

Such a new story for me! I loved the storyline, it felt very unique and like nothing I had read before.

I also loved the fact that this book had a dog and the way that they had that dog travel. The relationships were very amusing and a great ending!

Cara and her boyfriend were supposed to go to Dublin for a three day weekend until he broke up with her shortly before the trip. Determined to make the best of things she packs her bags and sets off to see the sights. Only to arrive in Dublin with lost luggage and soaking wet in a rainstorm.

Luckily she lands in the back seat of Finn's Uber, the charming driver with a sexy accent lends her his sweater and ends up showing her around the city. Three days of blisteringly hot chemistry and a drunken pub night proposal on Leap Day, they find themselves married.

Cara and Finn settle into life in Malibu while they figure out what to do next. She is pursuing a career as a screenwriter, while he has dreams of acting. What they are reluctant to see is that their dreams can include each other.

Cara's landlord and friends were hilarious and great additions to round out the cast. There were a few minor details I wanted followed up regarding Finn's life in Ireland.

Lucky Leap Year will have you laughing out loud, this is a quick, lighthearted romcom guaranteed to put you in a good mood. Thank you so much to @netgalley and @sourcebookscasa for this ARC!

Why you should read:
