This was a super clean super sweet romance. I really enjoyed it and I think the issue the couple faces is handled pretty well in the end. I do wish it was a bit longer but otherwise it was a pretty great read.

No spoilers but the ring was super adorable! I also love the whole Leap Day - women propose concept. I think its fun and this book really did capture that kind of energy!

The epilogue POV was interesting and kinda cute— I definitely didn’t expect it!

Read for:
- Forced proximity
- Vacation romance
- A fun pet
- A supportive best friend

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read and review! All thoughts are my own!

I love an accidental marriage trope, mixed in with “oh no only one bed” situation, and a little Irish charm. The story starts of strong. I really liked the first third of the book. Cara’s trip to Dublin, connnecting with Finn, him being all charming and cute, and the following drunken escapades.

As it continues further I had trouble still believing in their connection. It was all very fast paced, and it stayed quite superficial.

I was missing more of those cute getting to know each other moments. Cara and Finn are both good characters, though it felt short getting to understand what they liked and loved about each other.

As he was an uber driver/tour guide/musician, I somehow also missed the part where Finn had any ambition to act. Where all the drama gets amped up, again I felt it went too fast, things got glossed over, terrible love confession, and there was not enough grovelling.

All in all a fun, fast paced romance, that unfortunately fell flat to me. Also the epilogue was written from the dog’s pov, which I found a bit weird for this story.

I love Ann Marie Walker’s writing! Her stories are so sweet and unique. I love that they take place on uncommon holidays and are filled with so much hope. I can fly through these books and find myself wanting more. I was rooting for Cara and Finn throughout the story. Bonus points for a fun cover!

“Glad you enjoy my accent, luv, but I can think of a lot better ways to use my mouth than talking.” 🥵

Cara Kennedy was supposed to vacation in Ireland with her boyfriend, except they break up right before the trip. So Cara goes it alone, thinking she’ll bring home a plethora of wool sweaters as souvenirs and drink way too much beer while she’s there. What she didn’t plan on was waking up with a tin foil wedding band and coming home with a husband…

Five star Finn (McGuire, and his Irish green eyes) may just be my new book boyfriend. This was such a fun, light hearted read and a wonderful escape from life’s current events. I have always wanted to visit Ireland, now even more so!

The audio was fantastic. The narrator did a great job with the accents and really giving these characters life. I really enjoyed listening to this story.

Thank you to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, Sourcebooks, and the author for the ARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review.

“There’s fifty-two weekends in a year. Multiply that by how many years we have on this earth, and that’s not nearly enough. If you want to live life to the fullest, you’re gonna have to dance on some Tuesday nights.”

This book was everything I wanted in a short and sweet romance story and I just could not get enough of it.

A short trip to Dublin brings Cara more than the post-break up trip she’d had in mind. Upon meeting Finn a roguishly handsome Irish man with the swooniest accent ever the minute she steps out of the airport a whirlwind romance that just so happens to end in marriage is more than she expected. A Leap Day tradition has Finn following Cara back to Malibu in order to try to annul their marriage all the whole Cara tries to move up in her career.

When a whirlwind marriage turns into so much more and Cara & Finn realize that there may just be something more to their relationship they decide to give themselves a chance at happiness.

With an adorable dog & so many humorous moments, Lucky Leap Day was just what I needed this week & I cannot recommend it enough!

Feb. 29, 2024. This is the next time Leap Day comes around and you can bet that I will be in Ireland. If Cara can go, get drunk and wake up with a husband as swoon-worthy as Finn then you can bet I'm doing the same thing! This was such a cute story! It's one of those where your mind just escapes and you just get lost in the lives of the characters. It's funny and adventurous and maybe a bit unbelievable at times, but overall thoroughly enjoyable. It's one of those that you just smile the whole way through. I would have loved to see this be dual POV with some open door romance scenes, but overall I'd still probably read this again, and of course recommend to my friends.

This one is an amazing feel-good romance that I could not put down.
It felt like a little holiday in times of quarantine and made me dream of Irish landscapes and the Malibu Coastline.

The characters are great, relatable and I just had to love them. The main characters´ chemistry felt genuine and I enjoyed reading their story. I not only loved the main characters but the side characters as well.

I enjoyed the writing style. It was easy to read and the pace of the story was great. Just very in tune with the rest of the novel, the characters and the general storyline. The writing style captured the essence of the places perfectly and it felt amazing exploring Dublin with the protagonist.

So all in all this book was an amazing lighthearted read that I am so thankful to have been able to read and see myself rereading again in the future.

Still taking the trip you were supposed to with your boyfriend when he suddenly dumps you, Check!
Running into said boyfriend on that trip with his new girlfriend on arm, check!
Meeting a handsome Irish man in different hilarious settings, check!
Getting blackout drunk and wake up married to said Irish man, check check check!

This book was a hilarious romp of rediscovery. Cara isn’t going to not go on the vacation she already paid for just because her boyfriend dumped her.. nope! There she meets Finn, first her Uber driver, than her tour guide, than the guy she drunkenly dives into bed with. Oh and who she wakes up to married. This story takes on the adventure of how she happened to fall into Finn and how as much as she might not want things to happen, you just need to take that leap… especially if it happens on Leap Day.

I was so excited when the publisher granted me this book. I loved the synopsis and knew I needed to read this immediately. I instantly thought of that movie Leap Year, which I absolutely love! And I loved how much Cara rambled when she talks because who doesn’t get tongue tied especially around a hot guy. I also loved Finn. He was charming and swoon-worthy. Now I want to take a trip to Ireland and find me a man with a deep brogue accent.. shh don’t tell my husband lol.

This book was adorably sweet and sexy and will have you melting for an Irishman yourself

Lucky Leap Day while far-fetched at times, was a fun read! It was full of adventure that led to a romance that swept both Cara and Finn off their feet. It was different and kept me engaged. This closed-door romance is a perfect getaway.

Lucky leap Day was a very heartwarming read! The writing is light and playful which makes it easier to digest for a simple minded reader like me. The Cara and Finn are both likeable characters although i did feel like the characters were a tad bit underdeveloped. Overall this was an easy read and would recommend for new beginners of the romance genre.

I loved this romance set in Dublin and Los Angeles. Cara is a would be screenwriter working at an agency as an assistant. She was supposed to accomplish her boyfriend to Ireland until he broke up with her, but she decides to go anyway.

Her Uber driver is Finn, a cute guy with a sexy accent, and he shows her around Dublin. On her last night, Cara goes to a pub where he’s performing in a band and takes part in an Irish tradition called Leap Day, where girls ask guys to marry them.

Cara wakes up with a tinfoil wedding ring and a brand new husband. They decide that Finn and his dog should go to LA with her so they ca figure it out. Of course, that means Cara has to confess that she’s not exactly a screenwriter yet, and that the beach house she lives in doesn’t belong to her.

They get more and more cozy as time goes by until Finn gets a part in a Hollywood blockbuster. Did he go to LA for Cara or for her contacts? The future of their relationship is at stake.

The writing was great and the supporting were funny and well described. I highly recommend reading this book, 4 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Cute, romance story. It was a fast paced book for me. Set in Ireland and Los Angeles. Cara goes to Ireland and flies back home with a cute dog and husband with an accent. It was a heart warming read for me as I wanted something I could dive into and makes me want to go to Ireland 🇮🇪.

Side-splittingly hilarious from the very first page. It has been quite awhile since I’ve read a rom-com that made me laugh almost the entire time reading it. Cara and Finn are so lovable and relatable. Ann Marie has a new follower for life. I will absolutely be choosing this for our book club to read after it is released. The other characters are so fun and effervescent. I can’t wait to read more from her. I really hope Julia gets her own book and HEA next!

I read this in one sitting. I devoured it!! I love when the guy falls first. I loved learning Irish vernacular and history. The banter had me giggling and smiling, I didn't want it to end. Would have loved if it was dual POV and we also had Finn's perspective but it was still an adorable romcom.

Cara and Finn have easy chemistry. It’s almost insta love but not quite. The book starts out with Cara waking up to discover she’s married but then the next few chapters recount the beginning of her trip. The pacing is still quick but the proposal doesn’t feel totally out of left field. I was assuming this book took place fully in Ireland but a fair amount of it takes place in LA, where Cara is from. There’s a Hollywood element to the storyline that seemed a little too good to be true to me. However, Finn and Cara’s relationship felt sincere. Cara’s coworkers and Finn’s dog provide some good comic relief. I wish there was more closure with Cara’s boss Samantha. The epilogue is written from the dog’s perspective and I still can’t decide how I feel about it. Overall it’s a cute read with some fun Irish themes.
