I read this book right after Wildland, which will also be released on September 14, and both books have some things in common. While Wildland does a better job of describing how we got here, Ross does a better job of positing a path forward. There was also a lot of new information that I had not read about in this detail before, particularly on the elaborate schemes corporations do to evade taxes. This book quotes Fareed Zakaria a lot and I also found similar themes in this book to Zakaria's writings, such as The Post-American World. The path forward that this book outlines is ambitious without being impractical and many of the proposed solutions seem achievable with the right amount of political will. I found Ross's perspectives unique and this to be a good read for anyone who is hopeful fo better days ahead for our country and world.
