What It’s About: Cammie Parker needs a new start when her engagement is busted by her ex’s cheating. She moves home and starts a new job as an event coordinator at a mountain resort working on other weddings. Then her ex and his new fiancée (the girl he cheated on her with), have decided this is the place to have their wedding and Cammie is hiding, when she runs into Cade, the gardener, and he figures out what she’s doing, he decides to help her and so begins a v sexy game of hide and seek.

What I Loved: This book does perfectly what it is meant to do. It is a cute little escapist reading and perhaps a bit cheesy. It’s an easy read and the plot moves and there are definitely people to cheer for and people to hate. Taking place in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, we get to enjoy a perfectly enjoyable tale about a girl falling for her former crush while escaping her ex-fiancee. The narration was pretty good.

What I Didn’t Like: This book isn’t ground breaking it’s meant to be light and fluffy. There’s no complex characters, but that’s okay. Still this kind of keeps it in the just find category.

Who Should Read It: People who love cute little stories where the stakes are minimal and you can escape to a beautiful locale.

Summary: Hiding from an ex-fiancee sparks new love.

his was a relatively short book that was filled with fun. You have an event planner who is forced to start running and finding places to hide on the property when her ex-fiance and his new soon to be bride decide to have their wedding there. They keep showing up and Cammie keeps dashing in places to hide...and the groundskeeper keeps following her. Cade is a hunk from her past and has a thing for the current Cammie. Sweet romance!

The audio version of this was narrated by Kathryn Lynhurst. I'll admit that I had to speed it up in order to listen to it.

I was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Bride and Seek is a romantic comedy. This almost, but not quite, falls into the slapstick.

Cammie was expecting a proposal when she was unexpectedly dumped by her boyfriend. Deciding that she needs a complete change, she accepts a position as an event planner at a gorgeous mountain resort. During her first workday, she hears her ex-boyfriend and his new fiancee in the hall. She does the logical thing; running away and hiding. Unfortunately, her hiding place is the gardener's shed, and he picks that time to return.

Cade is the absolutely hot gardener. He knows he's in a rut, and he's happy to help Cammie avoid her ex-boyfriend. There's no end of hiding places and Cade and Cammie take advantage of them all. Will they overcome their apprehension and reach for true love?

I would recommend this title to chicken lit fans and anyone seeking a romantic comedy.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free digital copy of this book from Net Galley.

This was a fun, fast read. Seeing that it was a 4 hour audiobook I knew going in that it wasn't going to be too deep. It was refreshing to be able to predict where the conflict would come from and not have to stress out too much about it. There wasn't too much character development in this but I came into this book looking for the equivalent of a hallmark movie, lots of fluff and little to no angst. Predictable but comforting.
The audiobook narrator did a great job distinguishing characters.

3.5 stars - funny, sweet, lighthearted novella with an interesting setting. Good audiobook narrator. Makes me curious to read the rest of the series.

Bride and Seek, by Samantha Chase, is a comical tale of the most unusual hide and seek game. Cammie Parker has recently taken a job at a mountain resort with the event planning department. This would be a dream job were it not for one of the first weddings that comes along, that of her ex fiancé and the boss’s daughter who he cheated on her with. Her new supervisors are quite sensitive to Cammie’s plight and tell her to disappear when this couple is on its way. However, her escapes keep her running into head groundskeeper Cade Taylor. When she explains her problem, Cade becomes a very willing participant in her game. And when the only thing Cade can think of to keep Cammie unseen is to grab her and kiss her, the door is opened for a brand new game.

This is a delightful novella with a happy spirit and fun plot. I did enjoy this audiobook and commend narrator Kathryn Lynhurst for a job well done!

After catching her fiance cheating on her, Cammie Parker moves back to the town she grew up in, taking a job as an event coordinator at a mountain resort. It is just the fresh start she needs, except for one problem – her ex-fiance and the woman he cheated with are now engaged and planning a wedding at Cammie's resort. Not ready to see them, Cammie dashes off and hides in an equipment shed. Cade Taylor is drawn to the gorgeous woman who comes crashing into his equipment shed. Soon, Cammie hiding is as much about seeing Cade as it is hiding from her ex. Maybe Cammie and Cade can find their own happily ever after together.

Kathryn Lynhurst did an excellent job narrating this audiobook. This is the fifth book in Samantha Chase's Enchanted Bridal series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a quick, fun read where the good guys are all good and the bad guys are all bad. I do wish the book had been a little longer so we could get to know the characters better. The resort Cammie and Cade work at sounds so beautiful; I wish it were real so I could visit!

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

Charming, romantic love story filled with angst and humor. Cammie begins a new job as an event coordinator at a premiere destination only to find her cheating ex has booked his wedding there. What's worse, she can't seem to avoid him or his new bride-to-be. It's almost as if they are looking for her. Cade, the grounds keeper, is more than happy to help her find creative ways to avoid any contact with the ex. But sooner or later, there is bound to be a confrontation and you can't help hoping karma pays a visit to the cheaters. Cammie and Cade deserve a love story of their own - after all, they are really good at hiding out together. This is a quick read and the narrator does an excellent job of keeping you entertained.

A love story about second chances and being true to yourself. I enjoyed Cammie’s dedication to doing her job well, no matter the challenges that she faces. Her coworkers seem like a fun bunch to work around. Cade is determined to see things work out for Cammie and perhaps get his own happy ending as well. A steamy romance that reads quickly. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given. The narrator does a good job of conveying the different voices and personalities.

I am definitely in the minority here, but this one was a big "NO" for me. Generally, I enjoy reading Samantha Chase but I should have declined on this one.
The story was just too silly to come close to being believable. There was no character development. We don't get to know these people. The dialogue was juvenile. Take out the sex scene and it was like reading a teen novel. And where is the romance? You get kissed by someone you used to know from high school and boom, you're in love?
Sorry, but I could not find anything to recommend this book.
