I thought this book was slow. I had trouble getting into it. The characters are all right. I was surprised by who the killer was. #AnEggnogtoDieFor #NetGalley

A really good cosy mystery series that I am really enjoying. Looking forward to the next book and more from Sam (Miss Marple) 📖📖

Samantha Barnes has no time to get involved in a murder investigation, but with a title like An Eggnog to Die For, we all know what's going to happen.
Holiday festivities and being a food critic are keeping Samantha busy, and of course everyone has to give her their own Eggnog secrets.
I love Christmas mysteries and this one is really good.

I think I liked the second book in this series even more than the first! Samantha is a clever heroine, and the author has given her a nice, casual tone as the narrator. I have a quibble with the way the librarian and her staff member reveal information, but that will probably not bother non-librarian readers. The descriptions of food in this one will make you hungry, and the author has made it seem accessible. A good community rounds this out well.

This is hands down one of the best cozy mysteries I have ever read.
Amy Pershing delivers not only a well written book but also an engaging one that is definitely a page turner. Her characters ring true and are multi-faceted, the mystery is complex and fascinating, and the detail with which she describes her settings make the book come alive.
I haven't read the first book in the series - and look forward to doing so - but this one doesn't leave you feeling that you're missing something that went before. It easily stands alone while making you want to go back and read the first book.
I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to read and review this through NetGalley.

Samantha Barnes has recently moved back to Fair Harbor, Massachusetts after inheriting her aunt Ida's house. She is critiquing restaurants for the Cape Cod Clarion and recording the occasional Cape Cod Foodie program. Sam is also reconnecting with friends, has met a possible romantic partner, and fixing up the house. Her recently retired to Florida parents are visiting for the Christmas and New Years holidays when "Santa" is found murdered on the holiday Santa Seashore Selebration, Sam discovers the body and becomes involved in the case. There is humor in this series, which makes up for when she does something reckless. The characters are interesting, and the location and food are vividly described. A relaxing seasonal read. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
