Beth and Tom seem to have it all ... a solid marriage, a young daughter, a beautiful home.

But maybe their marriage isn't as perfect as it seems. Beth fears the worst when police show up at her door .. her husband hasn't come home from work ... has something happened to him?

It was even worse than she thought. Tom has been arrested and accused of murdering an old girlfriend .. before he met and married Beth. Katie has supposedly been traveling for years, and it's just come to the light that she actually has been missing .. assumed dead.

Beth doesn't quite believe her husband capable of murder, but there are hints along the way that maybe ... just maybe ... she has known more than she's saying. Is it a case .. she's known and ignored it... she's kept quite fearing for her own life and that of her daughter.

The story is told from two timelines... now and 8 years ago. Voices that speak are Beth, Tom, Katie, and one unknown person. Lies and secrets are slowly are slowly revealed ... leading to a shocking and unexpected conclusion.

This is the author's debut novel and she's done a bang-up job is keeping it suspenseful from start to finish. She, herself, has a psychology degree, so I would expect at least a modicum of credibility ... I was not disappointed.

Many thanks to the author / Avon Books UK / Netgalley for the digital copy of this psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
