I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a story that I was hard pressed to put down. It was refreshing to see older protagonists (at least for a historical romance). The characters and the plot were realistic. I adored the twins such charmers.

There were a few twists and turns for the couple in reaching their HEA. At times, I wanted to slap Mason upside the head! That says a great deal for a book to bring out emotions in a reader.

This is a sexy story with some scenes that may offend some. That being said, I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18.

Mason, the hero here, made a mistake ten l-o-n-g years ago. He fought as a courageous solider during that after Lily life, but he obviously faltered and didn’t fight for love when it counted. Lily and her family paid the price. No wonder she’s stacked bricks around her heart and cemented a resolve never to travel down that heart breaking road again. Sassy, resilient, and now a woman of her own means and making, the tables have been turned.

Mason has his work cut out for him, folks. He has to lay a new foundation of trust and honesty in order to convince Lily to start building together the life they should have had all along. Not surprisingly, secrets do start seeping out on both sides. Some I half expected, while others not so much.

I have pride of my own as an avid 100% romantic at heart, therefore, I must admit I would have loved to have seen Lily keeping him at a distance even longer. You got to give Mason credit for two things though that came to light that made a difference in how you might view his past actions. However, the gist of the overall breakup is head shaking and heart shattering considering the intimacy this couple had just shared for the first time.

Though rather too much like a dangerous, unsafe, hair brained TikTok idea challenge, Mason gets talked into a strange pay to play game where the odds seem in his favor. Little did he know destiny was at the wheel steering him right where he needed to be.

It was refreshing to see a heroine take matters into her own hands instead of being the helpless, damsel in distress, marriage mart victim, strange as the set up was, that is.

I found the couple of books in this lengthy series I’ve read an interesting premise to matching up reluctant to love but ultimately fated to be together lovebirds. It is a series written by various authors, btw.

Title: A Lyon’s Pride, Series: The Lyon’s Den, Author: Emily Royal, Pages: 126, stand-alone but part of a series, reunited after long separation, apologetic wants forgiveness and her hero, sassy resilient smart business minded heroine, hero not celibate during decade separation, some graphic steamy scenes.

Regrets and Second Chances

Mason is a man with too much pride, and lily is a woman with too many secrets. Mason’s pride lost him the woman he loves, leaving him an empty shell. Will Lily ever forgive him for abandoning her? Perhaps, if she knew the whole, sordid tale, she might forgive him.

Both Lily and Mason have challenges they must overcome. What happens when Mason discovers Lily’s secrets? This is such an emotional story; I found myself shedding tears throughout the book. I loved the story and would recommend it to those who like Regency, second-chance romance. There is heartbreak, but there is also redemption.

Mason Redstone returns to England to find his father has driven the estate to the brink of bankruptcy. He needs a rich wife without the pomp and fuss of the English ways. She needs a titled man to give her daughters respectability. Can they reignite an old flame squashed by pride? The Black Widow knows......
A wonderful read with undertones you will enjoy. A series written by a host of different authors all titles are standalone with the same theme.
I received a copy of this book free for my honest review.

A Lyon's Pride by Emily Royal is a second chance love story. Lily has approached her mother's old friend, Bessie Dove-Lyon with the same sort of proposition many women have. She needs a noble husband who needs her money in exchange for taking care of her daughters and raising them up in society. She wants nothing to do with love or demands in the bedroom. Mason, Lord Redstone has been brought to Mrs. Dove-Lyon's gambling den by his banker, Dexter Hart, who plans to help him make some money in one of three practical ways: marry it. There has been a challenged planned and Hart buys Mason's way in. Of course, he loses and so has to become betrothed to the lady Mrs. Dove-Lyon decrees. Lily. Lily who he had loved as a youth. Lily who his father had callously turned out of the house when his older brother was killed, and his betrothed needed a new fiancé: Mason. Lily who he had tried to find but reports of her death came back to him. Was this his second chance?

As is often the case, this story is riddled with either miscommunication or downright lies. Lily is a woman of business, a very successful one, but many men cannot believe this is possible, Mason among them. She is strong, intelligent, and has loyal friends and employees. There are several very well-written characters in this book. The plot is simple enough. They are still in love, but through a series of miscommunications, both have decided that it will not work for them. Strangely, it is Wilhelmina, his stepmother, his brother's fiancé to whom he did not become betrothed, that speaks sense to him. Just as Lily's mother, who made the biggest sacrifices, is talking sense to her. It is a fun read, with plenty of angst to go around. Try it.

Lily is amazing, strength, ambition to succeed to care for her mother and twin girls.
Mason is a weak character with hopes he can come up to snuff.
I enjoy this series. I really like the author weaving in another character like Dexter Hart to the story making it fun be be an avid reader and know their own stories.

Mason, Lord Redstone gets a second chance with the woman he's always loved, when Mrs.Dove-Lyon uses her manipulative matchmaking skills. Lily Diamond is not sure it's good to idea to marry Mason considering he abandoned her ten years ago, but she did pay Mrs. Dove-Lyon a lot of money for a husband. Mason's broke, Lily's rich. Mason has many regrets for the past. Now all they can do is go forward. I didn't care for Mason's over sweet demeanor he displayed once in a while and wondered about his logic. At least he eventually figured it out, well they both did.

Ten years ago, Mason Redstone was forced by his father to abandon his betrothal to marry his dead brother’s intended. Lily and her mother were forced from their home and left destitute. Left in London the two women do what they must to survive. Mason decides that he cannot fulfill his father’s wishes and leaves to find Lily. Told that she had died, Mason, his heart broken, joined the army and went to war. When his father dies, he returns to take up the title, and finds the coffers are almost empty. Mason needs to find a rich bride. He is not looking for love. That hope died when his foolish pride caused him to lose Lily. His friend, Dexter Hart, takes him to the Lyon’s Den, assuring him he can find a wife looking for a titled husband, but not love. At the same time, Lily, who is not only very much alive, but an independent, wealthy businesswoman comes to Bessie Dove-Lyon to find just that. The match is made. When they meet (again) it is clear that the happily ever after is not a sure thing. Mason will have to swallow that foolish pride and find a way to convince Lily that their match is a good idea.

This is an emotional second chance story. Neither Mason nor Lily want to risk another broken heart. I love Lily’s family. Her mother is a friend of Mrs. Dove-Lyon. There might be a touch of conspiracy here. She and Lily’s twin daughters, Belinda and Amelia are absolutely delightful. Mama has had a stroke, but is still spry enough to put Mason in his place. The girls are inquisitive, smart, and outspoken. Together these three bring a good bit of humor to the story. There are ups and downs, yesses and no’s, misunderstandings, secrets, and finally trust and forgiveness. It all makes you hold your breath waiting for a happy ending. An enjoyable story, engaging characters, and a fantastic surprise for Mason. An entertaining read.

A long ago romance that pulled them apart, has the chance to bring them back together. If only...

Mrs Dove Lyon is up to her matchmaking skills again in this story that pulls at the heartstrings, and has you only wanting the two to find the love they both need.

All Lily thinks she wants if a marriage of convenience to a gentleman of noble birth. Nothing more.

He is desperate to marry a rich lady and only wants a marry of convenience himself. After all he was left an estate that was bankrupt.

Can they find true love after all that has happened? Another fabulous addition to this intriguing series!

Bessie Dove-Lyon the Matchmaker of the Lyon’s Den and her friend the famous courtesan Le Flamme conspire to insure that her friends daughter is matched with her old love.
Lily Diamond is a independent and strong willed woman who was basically dumped for family honor. Lily became hardened and determined that her heart would never be affected again and she detested the man who did this to her and her family.
Mason Redstone realized his mistake and decided that he couldn’t go through with it and tried to find Lily, but eventually was told she died. He left for the war and was gone for ten years.
Things changed so much and the Author was able to retain the allure of the mystique of Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon the Black Widow of Lyon’s Den because this is a continuous series. The characters in this book are interesting, but not especially vibrant. I liked them, but they were boring and the book needed some kick start and that happened when Mason met his soon to be mother in law and the banter was fun and lively. I wish there was more with the Countess Wilihemhna.
However, I enjoyed the overall experience of the book.

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

On the death of his father, Mason Redstone returns from the militia to claim his title, only to discover his family estate is nearing bankruptcy. He needs money, and he needs it quickly. What better means to secure it than a rich wife, courtesy of Mrs Dove-Lyon? Having loved, and lost, in his youth, a marriage of convenience is the solution to his problems. Lily Diamond has known poverty and hardship but now runs a successful insurance enterprise. Having hardened her heart after her childhood sweetheart abandoned her a decade ago, she’s looking for a titled husband to give her twin daughters, who are charming the position in society, which was denied her. When Lily’s prospective suitors take part in one of Mrs Dove-Lyon’s games, the Black Widow of Whitehall weaves her spell once more, then presents Lily with her betrothed—the very last man on earth she thought she’d see again.
A delightful second chance romance. I liked both Mason & Lily, he thought she’d died & she thought he’d let his family pride rule his life. There were misunderstandings & secrets, which had to be resolved but made for an entertaining read which I read in a sitting
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Mason Redstone has come home from the war to take up his father's title. After nearly ten years away he finds most of the finances gone. He will have to find a rich bride. The love of his life, who he abandoned is long dead, so he's not looking for love.
Lily Diamond and her mother were ejected from their home and had to find a way to keep food on the table. Now years later she's a successful business woman with twin daughters. To give them the best chance in life she is looking for a titled husband. The Black Widow from Lyon's Den is known to help with matchmaking.
This is a very amusing and emotional story. Our hero gets a lesson in humility. Our heroine is a strong woman with a lot of responsibilities.
The Lyon's Den World is written by several authors but linked by the Gambling den where some very strange wagers are placed. All the books I have read so far have been good fun.

3.5 stars
This is a short story of re-united lovers. A woman goes to Mrs. Dove-Lyon in want of a titled husband and is matched with a man she has not seen in ten years. The man finds the woman is not dead as he was made to believe. The book focuses on Mason's pride getting in his way multiple times and him needing to beg Lily for forgiveness.

It is a quick story with likable characters. The story fits in nicely with the other Lyon's Den books. I received this book from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for an honest review.

❤️❤️❤️1/2
💋💋

Good read, fairly short novella, takes around a couple of hours to read.

Loved the storyline but not the main male character, he was weak and annoying, considering he’d been in the army for 10 years I expected him to be more of a tough cookie, I was disappointed.

However Lily was brilliant, and her mum a strong and fearless woman.
They were great, the twins were just as good, cheekily giving their opinion even when not asked for.

On the whole the book was good and fit in with the rest of the series wonderfully.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Both Lily and Mason are looking for a loveless match as they are still grieving over a long lost loves. This book was mostly about Mason apologizing and trying to get into Lily’s good graces. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

Regrets, lost love and a murky past make the trip to the Lyon's Den the only solution for the future. Lily Diamond has risen above the circumstances of her life and become a very successful businesswoman. Approaching Mrs. Dove-Lyon to find her a husband, results in her having to face her past in a way she never expected. Thinking Lily dead, Mason is shocked to find himself face to face with her in the Black Widow's parlor. However, before there is a chance of happiness and a future, Lily and Mason have to clear out the debris of the past. I found this novel sad in parts and it tugs at the heartstrings at the unfairness of the punishment meted out by the Late Lord Redstone. Mason and Lily have both paid the price for the man's pride, and it's time to reclaim the future. I loved the main characters in this novel and Lily's daughters are a delight. I am also so glad that this romance comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
