I have now repented, from my sin of declaring myself a cool mom while missing out on the laugh your bum off antics that have clearly been around since the first of Gelman's Class Mom novels. Despite being late to the party and missing some of the backstory surrounding the school and Jen in her previous books, Yoga Pant Nation was the sarcastic, witty, and relatable homage to parenthood struggles and the "if you can't laugh, you'll cry" obstacles of life that I so needed from this post-covid world. I may have to delve backwards through the series, but one thing is for sure, I want to channel my inner Jen when I grow up.

Loved this book! The 3rd in the Class Mom series. It still felt fresh ( which is tough to do as I’ve binged all 3 books in 2 weeks). I’m invested in these characters and hope there will be a fourth book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was absolutely hilarious. I enjoyed it as much as I did the two other books in the serious. A very accurate and funny portrayal of the modern family.

I get too much joy with Laurie Gelman’s Classmom series. She always gets me to laugh out loud with her snarky comments. Somehow again Jen is classmom but this time for fifth grade so you can expect her to keep being her. If you’re looking for a hilarious series that will make you laugh out loud, then you need to check this out.

Five things about Yoga Pant Nation by Laurie Gelman 5/5⭐️

1. Oh how I love these Class Mom books!
2. They are just delightful, hilarious, heartwarming reads.
3. This one releases next week.
4. If you have not read Class Mom or You’ve Been Volunteered, I strongly suggest you start there before picking up this one. Although they can be read as stand alones, you’ll miss so much of the humor and character development provided if you read them in order.
5. Thank you Laurie Gelman for all the laughter you’ve brought me over the years this community you brought to life.

Another delightful book in the Class Mom series. Jen Dixon is the fifth grade class mom who is trying to juggle aging parents, grown children, her beloved granddaughter, a ten-year-old, her husband, friends, and her new career as a Spin instructor. She does it all with her signature wit, and no-nonsense attitude. I hope this isn’t the last story Ms. Gelman has to tell about our favorite class mom!

Laurie Gelman has done it again! She does such a fantastic job with Jen Dixon, the main character of the Class Mom series. Her writing style is funny and relatable, especially as a mom that practically lives in yoga pants. The audio is well done, and I love that the author is the reader! I highly recommend this book to all my mom friends that are looking for a light-hearted (and hilarious) book!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book early! As with the others in the series, this book made me laugh and feel seen so many times. In this book, our main character's son is in 5th grade (the last year of elementary school) and she is once again the class mom. She's also taking care of her 2 year old granddaughter a few days a week and she is a new spin instructor. She and her husband own some yoga studios and I just thought all the facets of this woman's life were so fun to read about. There's a custody battle, a school fundraiser, and a constant thread of hilarious inner monologue. I would highly recommend this book for fans of the series, but even if you haven't read any others I think you could pick this up and still enjoy it.

Reviewing
Yoga Pant Nation
By Laurie Gelman

Laurie Gelman is back with a third and final installment in her Class Mom series. Like the first two books, Yoga Pant nation chronicles Jen’s adventures in motherhood and the relentless role she serves as her son’s 5th grade class mom. Jen is no newbie to the position, and this year she’s not takes no sh-crap from anyone!

While the first two books in the series read more like journal entries with a major focus on “Class Mom” life, Yoga pant nation shifts gears with the main focus being Jen’s personal life - her struggle to define her role in her aging parents lives, parenting grown children, becoming a spin instructor, being a grandma, and finding balance between all the roles she plays. While Jen finally shows a bit of growth, I still found her to be a little obnoxious and found myself longing to return to other characters instead of being drawn to over the protagonist.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 stars for this funny, somewhat unfocused series wrap up

She’s back, my friends. My very favorite fictional mom, Jen Dixon has her yoga pants on, glass of wine in hand, snarky comments primed, and ready to take on class mom duties for her son’s fifth grade class once again. Laurie Gelman’s previous novels, Class Mom and You’ve Been Volunteered are two of my very favorite novels about the #momlife, parenting, and life with kids in elementary school. I was so excited to hear that the author added a third installment to this hilarious series! In Yoga Pant Nation, Jen’s dealing with parenting a tween, puberty, aging parents, the PTA fundraiser, and trying to become a spin instructor. Oh, and she’s also a new grandmother! Say what? She’s constantly busy, but handles it like a true champ, and luckily has a great sense of humor to help her along the way. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - Jen Dixon is my hero! Definitely listen to this one if you get the chance because Laurie Gelman is the narrator! The author does a phenomenal job bringing Jen to life. I was cackling, snorting, and giggling away just like I always do from Jen’s amusing commentary. This woman is a hoot! Yoga Pant Nation releases on July 13th.

This was a highly entertaining audiobook that made me laugh out loud several times. I could really relate to the author with her class room experiences as a room mom although mine were no where near as fun. Now, I see I was just doing it all wrong!

Although, this is the third book in the series it did read like a stand alone. I have never heard of this author or series, so I am thoroughly impressed with how much fun this book is. So much so, that i have already started reading book one with the intention of finishing this series by summer’s end.

I was drawn to this book for a few reasons the first being I was looking for a lighthearted humorous fun read. Also, I really enjoy it when the author narrates their own work because there is no doubt for the listener what the tone is. The sarcasm was fantastic as it came across perfectly which made me laugh a good bit!

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Also, many thanks for introducing me to a fantastic author that I intend to follow.

Yoga Pant Nation Audiobook was read by the author. The main character, Jen Dixon is class mom for her son's fifth grade class. She sends out totally irreverent emails to the moms of the class. She is hilarious and keeps busy with teaching spin class, and watching her granddaughter. In, addition, she has also been appointed to head the fundraising committee for the school. In that role, she has numerous meeting and also follows up with irreverent emails to the committee. Although her approach to the fundraising is different from previous years, she leads her committee to come up with great ideas. This is a hilarious book that I enjoyed listening to. I recommend it

I adore the authors writing style. Just the right amount of snark, witticisms and humor in dealing with the insanity of being the class mom (for her 10 yr old sons class) when every mom thinks that their child and their life is perfect and that they could do a better job and are prolific at gossip and being obnoxiously judgmental, but never actually step up, you’re given unrealistic fund raising goals by the PTA, trying to get your dream job, dealing with a mother in law (that you didn’t know existed) who is trying to whisk your granddaughter away to the other side of the world and her daughter who makes it clear that she has never did a single thing right when she raised her and she can do so much better. So basically just another day in the life! Her emails are a riot and what gets her through the day without having her head explode. Its a fun listen if not slightly exaggerated take on some real moms life. The author narrate the book.

I was actually really excited to read this because I thought "a fun, light read about yoga? sign me up!" This definitely was a fun, light read but...that's all it was. This did not stick with me at all and I had a hard time connecting to any of the characters and really just found myself trying to get through this as quick as possible. It just felt like there was a lot of unneeded details and plot lines that went nowhere (maybe in preparation for a sequel?). I was expecting this to be quirky, charming, and fun but just found this to be a bit boring and repetitive. I would try another from this author but this one just wasn't for me. Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had a hard time getting into this audiobook because the narrator’s voice is very grating. Her intonation fits the glibness of the narrative, but it isn’t pleasant to listen to.

This was such a cute book. Chick lit is not my normal genre but I decided to pick this up and it was good. Jen Dixon is a mother to three kids (two of which are grown and one is in 5th grade) and a grandmother. The normal stressors of life were represented well here: working, trying to please everyone, being class mom, fundraising for the school, dealing with her husband’s ex-wife… the list goes on and on. What was interested was the custody battle that her daughter was going through. I loved the snarky, sarcastic responses throughout (perhaps I am like that too?). I did not read the first two books in the series, and yet I didn’t feel like I had to. Overall, it was an easy fun read and was just what I needed.

Not a fan of this book. I read the other two and this one just didn't keep my interest.

Thanks for this ARC NetGalley.

3.5 stars, rounded up
Cute addition to the series, listened to the audiobook narrated by the author and I love her sarcasm and tongue in cheek comments.
I think this is a series you should read in order so that you'll know who all of the people are, because she doesn't really explain it in the narrative. Plus you'll get more out of knowing Jen's progression as a class mom and a parent and grandparent.
There aren't any real surprises or anything groundbreaking here, but it's certainly a quick and entertaining read. For anyone who is offended by this series or this book in particular (and I've definitely seen it in the reviews I've read) I'll say that this is definitely meant to be a snarky parody, not a treatise on fabulous parenting. This is humor people, don't get so bent out of shape, she's not calling you out or showing off.
Keep writing them Ms. Gelman and I'm here for it. Thanks for a light, fun novel for the summer.

I haven't read the previous two books in this series, so it took me a while to warm up to Jen and her sense of humor. But once you get to know her, you can't help rooting for her and her quirky family. Having the writer take on the narrator's role was interesting as well. With Max graduating from elementary and no more "class mom" for Jen, would this be the last book in the series?

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

This was the kind of book that I didn't love, but didn't hate. I loved the cover, and I thought this would be a super fun, easy read. I found though, that I didn't love the characters. At times I laughed and enjoyed things they said, but at other times, I felt like one of those moms waiting to grab my kid at school and overhearing the rude conversations of the bitchy moms that are completely disconnected from reality. At those times in the book, I felt disappointed because wouldn't it be great if this character could lift people up just a bit more?

I jumped between the audio and physical book. I did enjoy the narrator from the audio. She did a great job bringing the book to life!

I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
