I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm so sad this series is over! I loved the characters and the story. Dabos weaves the magical into characters that seem ordinary, but truly aren't. I look forward to see what else Dabos writes.

This series will always have a place in my heart and my favourites list, however this was definitely one of the weaker books in the series but not for the reason most people would think. I know there was a lot of discussion on the ending and many didn't like it, yet I adore an open ending, it leaves me with the feeling of the story carrying on after the book is closed and I like that. I know that many people felt unsatisfied with Thorn and Ophelia's ending after all they go through in the series and all the growth they achieve together, and I can understand that, my little shipper heart also had that feeling but after reflecting on it for so long I wasn't unhappy with the ending. I still loved all the characters and the world and finally felt like we had answers. All my original questions were answered and the few I had left I don't feel needed to be address due to the open ending. However, I do feel like parts of the conclusion were overly ambitious and revealed in a way that was way too convoluted. My main gripe with this book was the pacing, the whole bit with Ophelia in the Asylum/research centre felt drawn out and parts of it could've been tightened up. One of the bright things about this book is it's colourful cast of characters and removing Ophelia from them took away some of the shine and suddenly the side plots of other characters felt unimportant; it almost left me with a question of "well why include their POVs and break up the narrative stream?" Overall I was happy with this ending, the characters the world and the writing were still amazing, but I wanted this ending to be tighter and yeah... I wanted more Ophelia and Thorn.

This series never gets old for me! Great conclusion, I am so glad I didn't have to wait forever for this translation.

This was a great wrap up to this series! I could not put this book down at all. this series is a phenomenally translated fantasy, that despite having some intense moments. it is super whimsical. I recommend the entire series for anyone looking for an amazing translated fantasy!

This might be my least favorite book of the series, but I am glad that I read it. This is a bit of an underrated series, but i still enjoyed it!

This series has been an amazing ride. Originally, I'd heard about it on TikTok and couldn't help but dive in! The worldbuilding and storytelling are immaculate!

This book was gifted to me as an Arc, though all opinions are my own

Coming back into the world of Ophelia and Thorn, I was expecting to be swept away into a fantasy adventure to uncover and resolve the great secrets that our characters need to solve. Unfortunately, that's where this final book fell short. Now, after growing closer, our married couple are on the hunt to find "God" and the Other to prevent further destruction of the Arks. To better summarize my thoughts, I listed them as pros and cons below:

Pros:
- Class struggles are highlighted throughout the series
- Addictive politic scheming
- Character growth (Ophelia is courageous and not afraid to speak up; Thorn shows a more caring side)
- Not your typical fantasy book; be prepared to be shocked!

Cons:
- Bittersweet ending
- This instalment was confusing to follow the chain of events
- More focus on philosophy than on plot
- Slow and jarring pacing

Overall, I had loved the first 3 instalments of this series, but I was disappointed by the ending. We receive answers of what the huge mystery was and how our characters determined how to save their world. But I guess I like to have endings that are more happily-ever-after than realistic in books. In this case, the writing seemed different to me and that made the reading experience difficult to follow the storylines. I still love Ophelia and Thorn, but wanted more from this one!

I devoured this whole series last year and this book was my most anticipated read!
I completely fell in love with this world and these characters.
Of course this book was everything I would have hoped for and more. Though it completely killed me.
One of my favourite fantasy series of all time!

I sell this series like crazy at my bookstore. A great ending to an amazing series! I’m sad to see it over! Ophelia and Thorn’s Journey will last with me forever. Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a review.

I loved the first two books in the series, was so-so on the third, and sadly felt disappointed in this one. I just couldn't connect to the story and the characters felt wildly different. A letdown for me but YMMV.

This was INSUFFERABLE. I have switched between physical reading and audiobook to get through this, but even at 2.5x speed on audio I am bored out of my mind.

Everything that I loved about the first two books is completely missing in this one. There is no solid plot and the confusion and monotony of the third book has carried over and multiplied. The magic, the whimsy, the immersion into a world that is full of fun and mystery and surprise is completely missing and in its place is the most authoritarian slog of a setting.

The only other redeeming quality, the promise of a payoff of the slowest slow-burn romance of all time, has been completely destroyed as well. What happened with that kiss on the bridge? The warming up of Thorne? Every interaction with him is marked by specifying that it’s ~so romantic~ when it is absolutely nothing of the sort. The book keeps trying to shove it down our throats that he’s changed and warmed up but in reality he is just a cold, insufferable, miserable, loveless human. If the things he did and said were romantic, it would not have to be stated as such and it feels like the narration is making excuses for his lack of character development.

I finished 70% of this and I just don’t believe that the final 30% is going to resolve any of these issues (especially after reading other reviews) and I'm just not invested anymore. This was an incredibly disappointing ending to this series.

What a shame that I didn't enjoy this final installment in the Mirror Visitor series, but for me, it just got far too confusing and was trying to be too philosophical in what is ostensibly, a YA adventure series. This was definitely a case of the book doing too much and not executing any of it very well, to the extent where I actively disliked the reading experience until the last 50 pages. So sad :(
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The Mirror Visitor series was one of the most complex fantasy series I’ve ever read. I’m usually a fast reader, but with these books I definitely had to learn to slow down and savor it. I was a little worried that the series wouldn’t be wrapped up well, given the complexity, but Dabos once again proved her brilliance and brought it all back together for a satisfying conclusion.

This series may have a romance subplot, but it should not be read for that reason. As much as I adored Ophelia and Thorn, their relationship is a little…odd feeling at times. Really, the main reason to read this series is for the intricate world building and plot.

Overall, really well done!

A wonderful and satisfying end to one of the best fantasy series on the market. I didn't think she would be able to tie up such a complex story, which only gets more complex and layered in this book, but the third act seriously delivers. I will miss Ophelia and Thorn very much!

This was a great ending to the mirror visitor series. I would love to see more of these characters in maybe a spinoff series in the future. Or maybe a little follow up novella.

Many thanks to Europa Editions and NetGalley for the ARC of the book in exchange for an honest review.

It was an interesting ending to the Mirror Visitor saga. It's always sad to finish a good series since one bonds with the characters and always craves some more action, and this was also true with this book. It was nice to finally get answers to the questions raised by the first three books. I'm planning to reread the whole series some time in 2022, to read all the books consecutively this time instead of waiting for them to be translated into English in long intervals, so I can enjoy following Ophelia through her adventures once again.

I am OBSESSED with this series. I absolutely adore Christelle Dabos and the magical world she has created. I cannot get enough of Ophelia and Thorn's love story. Each installment of this series was a genuine delight and The Storm of Echoes is no exception. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have read this prior to release!

This book was a hot mess. Absolutely everything I liked about the rest of the series was completely missing from this last installment. I know romance is not the center figure of the story up til now but Ophelia and Thorn felt so stilted especially even after everything they have been through at this point. The entire first half was borderline unintelligible. All of these leaps of intuition and investigation into the observatory was maddening to read. Without a doubt this book suffered from the lack of purpose or sufficient editing.

Thanks Netgalley for this ARC
