Robert Bryndza is definitely near the top of my favourite authors and Darkness Falls is just another example of why. Kate and Tristan are still a great team working together and the story will seriously keep you hooked from page one.

Ok so I was ridiculously excited to read this through netgalley. I have this book on preorder as I’d devoured the first two books in the Kate Marshall series and was eager to read the next instalment and it’s blown me away. From the very beginning you are drawn into the newest investigation and just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, bam, a spanner’s thrown into the works and your left unsure and quickly turning the page to see what’s next.

I’m thinking this is going to be one of my top books of the year, it was great and I can’t wait to read more in future following Kate and Tristan. A big 5 stars from me!

Robert Bryndza is a best selling author for a reason … his books are fantastic. The Kate Marshall series just gets better and better. Great characters, the right amount of tension, gruesomeness and twists. If you like a good crime thriller you are in for a treat. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Amazing read which i really enjoyed, the author has a way of keeping you engaged and wanting to turn the page, i really love this type of writing and the author really shone with it. The storyline was captivating, i really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend to book readers, friends and/or family.

A book that is well written, full of suspense with true to life characters. The story flowed at a good pace, held my interest and was hard to put down. I highly recommend it as a must read.

This is the 3rd book in Kate Marshall series, I have listened to the previous two novels in this series in Dutch. (# 1 Schaduwland; & 2 Zonder Gezicht) via audiobooks.

In this 3rd book of the series - which can be read as a stand alone, we meet Kate Marshall again. She is trying to set up a small detective agency, with her business partner Tristan - a research assistant at university. They are having a hard time building a clientele, luckily they are asked to look into the disappearance of a young journalist years ago.

I had a hard time getting into the story, and found some of the details mentioned odd, like the comparison and occurrence of Dutch surnames with Jean -Claude Van Damme (he is Belgian), and became rather annoyed with the abundant use of abusive language. (Bloody H** and F*** in all kinds of variations), it made it all a bit vulgar.

And maybe I am a bit of a whiner, but most people don’t recall they are dreaming when they sleep, it’s only when they wake up they sometimes remember bits and fragments - , at least that is how my brain works. I’d skip the ‘I see dead people’ dream in the second part of the book, - a rather strange addition to the story. And I got the feeling that at times things were penned down for the sake of convesation, like the reference to Miss Marple.

The story really picked up in the second half of the book, and that is what kept me reading in the end. No real twists or spectacular endings there and my first guess was right :) , but a solid detective story, nothing fancy though.

This is the first book of Robert Bryndza's I have read and it did not disappoint. An intriguing plot with plenty of twists and turns which I absolutely devoured over the course of an afternoon! I have since purchased the first two books in the Kate Marshall series to read as I find Kate to be a fantastic and compelling character.

This is a solid crime fiction novel, both extremely well written and nicely paced and I would recommend it to fans of cozy mysteries and thrillers alike.

A solid crime fiction novel - it was well-written and nicely paced. And while it definitely can be read as a standalone (I did), you’ll be kind of in the dark about the relationships between characters if you do so. Even though I figured out who the ‘bad guy’ was really early on in the book, I still enjoyed the journey I was taken on in order to find the ‘why’

Another winner from this very talented author. Kate is one of my favourite characters amongst the many mysteries I read and she engaged me as much as she has in every other book I the series. I love the way this author brings the reader along for the ride, giving them the insider perspective and guiding them through twists and turns until the truth is revealed! Tristan makes an amazing side kick and seeing Kate’s relationship with her son grow is really satisfying.

I loved Shadow Sands so much, I head to buy Nine Elms (book one) as soon as I finished it. I ended up loving Nine Elms just as much. When I saw Darkness Fall was available I was really excited. Then, when I was approved I was even more excited and it went to the top of my list! The writing was stellar as always so I couldn't stop reading. The characters (other than Kate and Tristan) were nothing special to me and the story was not as good as the other books. It's a 3.75 star book rounded up to 4 stars, because the writing was so good.

I'm still enjoying this series, but I don't know, I didn't like this one as much as the last. I can't really pinpoint why, but something about this one just didn't connect with me like book 2.

This is not my usual favourite type of book, but having visited these areas I was interested to see where the story took them. But from the start I was hooked. I loved the characters, the way they are dealing with their own demons that all raise their ugly heads through the investigation, and I enjoyed their pain (I am bad I know.) The only thing that I was disappointed with was that I guessed who the killer was in the first few chapters, though not the entire reason why. But it did not distract from a good story, and I can not wait to read the next one.

In this mystery, Kate Marshall and Tristan Harper, two private investigators at Kate’s new agency work together to find out what happened to Joanna Duncan, a journalist who went missing 12 years prior.

After gaining access to the old case files, Kate uncovers a connection between Joanna and two missing men.

This was a pretty standard mystery involving a journalist, a politician, and sex scandals. The author includes enough plot twists to keep it unpredictable. I really wanted to find out what happened and how the cases were connected. The book does perpetuate some stereotypes about homosexuality and I found the ending to be a little chaotic.

I would be interested in reading other books in this series and by this author.

So I’ve not done a review for a very long time as I’ve not read a book for a very long time… but who better than to help get me back into reading than one of my absolute #favouriteauthors #robertbryndza! 👏

I saw this book in our netg account and I knew I had to read it and did just that in two days! Am I back? We shall see.

So Darkness Falls is book 3 in the #katemarshall series and is a classic Bryndaz. It was easy to read, presented in a straight forward way, the characters are familiar, likeable and easy to relate too and the story follows a recognisable format for any thriller / Bryndaz reader.

I found the story light, entertaining and complete. The chapters were short and snappy, moving the plot along at a nice pace. I was often left desperate to pick my kindle back up to find out the next clue or where the story would twist next.

Saying this, I did work out who the baddy was pretty early on and all credit to Bryndaz, he managed to keep my interest throughout and planted a few little twists that made me doubt myself. Overall a really excellent read!

Although, I am series in order kinda person, I do feel that you would be able to read this as a stand-alone! Definitely recommend that you pick this one up as soon as it’s released.

Brilliant, I loved it. This really was a great book from start to finish. Ward Larsen has once again done a splendid job with the assassin David Slaton. He’s definitely one man you don’t want coming after you. I love the way there is always something happening in the story to keep you interested, it really was entertaining.
David Slaton was Mossad’s most lethal assassin. His focus and commitment couldn’t be faulted, every waking moment he was on alert. Deep sadness and revenge drove Slaton to be the very best at what he did. One day someone was going to pay for what they had done to him, and he wasn’t going to stop until that man was in the ground. The latest assignment in Luxemburg seemed easy enough, breaking into a hotel room and secure some intelligence. What could possibly go wrong with that? If you enjoy Action Thrillers, then you will love this book. Well worth the 5/5 Star Rating.

Author Robert Bryndza is a truly masterful mystery writer. I could not put down Darkness Falls until I had followed the events in the book to their conclusion. It was an absolute page turner! The way the narrative weaves all of the characters together is something that really impressed me. Each character really felt like their own unique person, and Robert somehow managed to flesh out so many personalities without it feeling like a lot of extra exposition. As someone who reads a ton of new books every year, I haven't been this impressed and excited in quite some time. I look forward to more stories from Robert that detail the adventures of Kate and Tristan.

Robert Bryndza never fails to deliever. Here also the expectations far exceeded the actual book. Its a cosy mystery with loads of twists and turns. And you won’t see the end coming at all.,,.I am giving 4 stars to thus one
