Loved reading this book and author. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend her and her books. Happy reading

It seems like Charlotte should advertise herself as a scapegoat for hire. Everyone who hires her tends to abuse her verbally when they suddenly find themselves in hot water. I thought such treatment appalling, but Charlotte’s character, being the busybody she was, couldn’t help herself from solving the mystery behind their strange behavior.

This is the third book in the Charlotte Adams Organizer series by Mary Jane Maffini.

This was a great book. I felt like Mary Jane was my writing twin. I could totally see myself saying so many of the things Charlotte said in this book. I would love to be as organized as she is and i love all the tips to get your clutter under control.

They bring Charlotte into an office office and before she can even get there she is run of road and the gal she is supposed to be organizing for is fleeing from the space. A lot is going on behind the scenes here. I am still flummoxed as so why Jack was so out of touch with Charlotte during most of the book. I know Mary Jane explains it but dang, I needed some Jack love in this book. Give a girl a mercy call once in awhile Jack.

Overall this mystery really kept my attention and I loved how it kept surprising me over and over. So much love for this series. A definitely new favorite for sure.

If you love a cozy mystery, definitely check this one out.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title. Opinions are completely my own.

Once again, my jaw was on the floor by the end. Maffini writes absolutely delicious plot twists.

The cleverness of the author is what makes the series worth reading.

This book was cute and fun to read. The characters are so likeable and the story was well written. The clues were fun to follow in this intriguing cozy. It was very entertaining. I recommend this book.

I like the premise for this series. My issues start with Charlotte. She is overly opinionated. She wants her dogs to be therapy dogs but they are definitely not therapy dog material. Second is Nick the cop who is the most clueless person in the world, but he keeps his job. Third is the entire office where the messy desk resides. No group of people can be so messed up. I wanted to like the book, but the problems kept piling up. This book is simply not for me.

Once again, I love the organizational tips at the start of the chapters. Mystery kept me guessing and I like how the misfits are there for each other. MC does seem to enjoy the things many of us wouldn't. I find the characters interesting.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in the Charlotte Adams Professional Organizer Mystery Series.

I had read this series years ago and I enjoyed reading this series again. The characters are interesting and have great relationships. The mystery has twists and turns and was easy to read.

This was my favorite in the series so far. I liked the office setting (as opposed to a client's home) but I was a little upset Jack wasn't in this one as much. In the beginning, he does finally stand up to Charlotte and tell her she's bossy, which she needed to hear, but then he was gone. Still, it gave Margaret and Sally more time to shine and enjoyed learning more about them. All in all, this was a good mystery with a little more "meat", a little darker than usual cozies, but definitely worth reading.

I like the main character and the clever humor, but this plot is just way too convoluted and over the top for me. Everything from the ridiculous desk pile to Robbie's annoying personality was just too much. It was kind of exhausting to read--for me.

Charlotte Adams has been hired to help clean up the desk of a new employee without letting hewr know that she has been targeted as the messiest desk in town, but what Charlotte isn't prepared for is the office politics that lead not only to the murder of the office b**** but also threats to her own life.

For someone who is supremely organized, Charlotte needs to be a bit more under control. I finds it hard to believe that she can get so involved with a company/person with so little contact as in this book. I think it needed to be thought through a bit more.

Charlotte Adams is at it again in this 3rd book. She takes a new client, Quovadicon, who wants Charlene to help organize the messy work area of one of their employees, Barb, When Barb goes missing, Charlotte starts to investigate and finds that they are more issues at the company than a messy desk. After one of the employees is murdered Charlotte realizes that she has a big case on her hands. With danger following her around, she finally solves the mystery.

These are super fun cozy mysteries and I love the whole series.

Another wonderful story in this series!

There is trouble in Woodbridge for Charlotte Adams. Some people believe that she brings it on herself. (And at times I would have to agree.) But this time it's more than solving or preventing a crime. This time it would seem that Charlotte has to do this all on her own with little or no help from friends.

Charlotte is asked to come work at a company that is having a personel problem. One valued employee has a desk that looks like a pig sty! Charlotte needs to find a way to help this person without hurting her feelings. But on the way to her first meeting, she is almost killed by a crazed woman driver. And so it begins.....

Charlotte has to work on relationships within the company as well as in her own personal life.

As for bringing problems on herself, after being framed for one murder, she willfully, knowing full well what she is doing, repeats her previous actions instead of just letting the police take care of it. Have you ever noticed that this is a recurring theme in cozy mysteries? The protagonist is told over and over again, "stay out of this, let the police do their job" and yet she never does? Charlotte is just as bad and that does have me screaming at the book sometimes, but let's face it, I love every minute of the book.

Lookifn forward to number 4 in the series "Closet Confidential"

Charlotte Adams is a fun character, and her knack for decluttering messy spaces always surprises me.
When Charlotte is hired to help clean up a cluttered office, she has no idea of the mess she's about to find herself in.
Mean coworkers and nefarious deeds will keep you guessing until the end.

An amusing story if a little contrived in places and I was left wondering how the central character managed to make a living when she was forever running off at tangents. The final denouement was worth reading the rest for!

This book was originally published in 2009 and then updated in 2021. Death Loves A Messy Desk ended up being a really good cozy mystery although it started slowly. Charlotte runs a business that helps people get organized and declutter. She meets Fredelle who needs help with a coworker's messy desk. An odd request but Charlotte had a cancelation and needs the money so she agrees. Honestly, the suggestions about how to handle it are interesting. The company Fredelle works for is Quovadicon and there are some personnel problems as well as the messy desk and some secrets. The mystery moves along quickly after a bunch of chapters.. The only negative really is the focus on Charlotte 'and her friend Jack, who is busy with a cycling race and a new girlfriend. This was an enjoyable cozy mystery and the ending was great!. #NetGalley #BerkleyPrimeCrime

This is the third Charlotte Adams mystery by cozy author Mary Jane Maffini. I enjoy this series for its charming charcters and fun sleuthing . Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity.

Charlotte Adams is a professional organizer. She has a popular business and is pushy enough to do well and book her clients months ahead. She has a new client that has hired her to clean a co workers messy work area. When the co worker disappears Charlotte investigates . With the media on her case following her in their love hate relationship Charlotte is determined to push her way through the clues and people she needs to question to get to the truth.

Charlotte is a different protagnist. She is pushy, rude and very vain. A lot of people do not like her for her abrasive personality. She knows how to solve a mystery and is good at getting people to talk. Its a fun series that I enjoy reading . The organizing tips are fun and are in each book in the series.

This is a super cute, cozy mystery. An easy read, with fairly good characters. It definitely kept me in my toes, I could not figure out who the bad guys were. The main character was a little over powering to me, too many thoughts in too many directions. All in all, a cute book though.

I felt sorry for Charlotte in 'Death Loves a Messy Desk'. It seemed as if everyone she had come to count on was deserting her in times of need. The mystery is edgy and tense and I didn't see how it was going to end positively. I was completely surprised by many aspects of the ending and I think it was a growing experience for Charlotte. I look forward to the next in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Charlotte Adams is hired to help a clean up and organize a woman’s desk. When Charlotte arrives for her appointment an SUV almost runs her down and the driver turns out to be the owner of the messy desk. It turns out the woman has disappeared and no one can find her. Charlotte seems to think there’s a link between the woman and the recently found body of man found in a car. As soon as Charlotte starts to organize her thoughts, she finds herself a target for violence once again. Will she figure it out and stop the killer from striking again, or will the killer figure out a way to stop Charlotte once and for all?

This is the third book I have read in the series and I have to say it has gotten better with each new book I read. A solid mystery and a cast of characters that have known each other most of their lives…you can’t ask for more when there are long standing histories with the characters. I’m going to have to read the others in the series and catch up while I wait for the next one to drop.
