Post traumatic trauma is not something that people accept that is real. It wasn’t until i was an adult that i learned how to name and process my own trauma in therapy. This book had alot of very useful information. It gives the name and descriptions of various PTSD and their symptoms. You can learn more about how to help understand yourself and get any help you might need. Very important and informational read.

This book was a bit too in depth for an everyday reader like me. Though I think it would be great for someone with a background in psychology.

This is an excellent resource for those looking to better understand trauma and the havoc it can wreak on our minds and bodies. It’s written in an easily understood manner, without leaving out what is important. In the days of Covid, most of us have some degree of trauma, so this book couldn’t come at a better time.

This is a fine primer on trauma. It's a topic I'm quite familiar with and I generally enjoy reading about it, but I could not get into this book for some reason. I had to really push myself to keep reading so it's not one I'll be reviewing publicly.

This is a great book for anyone who wants to better understand trauma. If you don’t know what trauma is, how it effects people, or if there is any in your life you should read this book. The author shares beautiful stories of trauma and pain while explaining in an easy way to grasp how trauma changes people and impacts lives.

Dr. Conti is a psychiatrist who specializes in posttraumatic disorders. His work ''Trauma: The Invisible Epidemic'' is a highly informative and very engaging book that addresses both the importance and high prevalence of trauma under the general population. Dr. Conti addresses the variety of effects trauma can have on a human life. However, the book is much more than just a clinical description of the problem. It's highly philosophical yet at the same time provides excellent down-to-earth tips on how to deal with trauma and the aftermath.

As a physician specialising in posttraumatic symptoms, I would highly recommend this work to anyone that would want to be more informed on trauma and resilience.

I will absolutely be recommending this book to my clients. As a therapist specializing in trauma, it's hard to find easy to understand and relatable books to recommend for bibliotherapy. Trauma: The Invisible Epidemic is an easy to understand introduction to trauma, shame, and how to be resilient. Well written and engaging, Conti did a beautiful job bringing this to the public light.

Trauma: The Invisible Epidemic by Paul Conti, Lady Gaga review:
Living with trauma almost my entire life, leaving home at 14 years old, loosing my father four years ago, amongst other things.
The author describes trauma as: it's everywhere, flowing in and out of our bodies of our loved ones.
Quote from the book that really makes perfect sense
"As with Covid, you can't see trauma, itself, you just see it at work- silently but maliciously."

This book helps understanding trauma and shame, ability to recognize trauma, tools to help yourself and other people.

I really enjoyed how in-depth this book was with an idea I was familiar with, but didn’t fully understand. I think anybody can learn something of value from this book and would highly recommend to anybody, especially people looking to heal from their trauma.
