I want to thank NetGalley for giving me this ARC and will give my honest opinion of this book.

I absolutely loved this book. It was a “chic” book and predictable but so well written. The characters were very believable and mostly likable. I lived in New England but this book makes me want to book a vacation on Nantucket, even in the winter. The descriptions brought Nantucket to life. A great beach read and very enjoyable. Looking forward to reading this author again.

A lovely book and a wonderful read. All the characters were written very well. The author did a great job with the storyline, she hooked you and kept you interested. I'd recommend this one to anyone looking for a good summer read. The narrator was excellent!

I listened to the audio version of The Hotel by Pamela M. Kelley and narrated by Leslie Howard. The story is about a family whose members work in a high end family owned hotel on Nantucket. It is about the family dynamics of those and that that goes into the behind the scenes workings of a luxury hotel. Several of them find love along the way. Overall, a very enjoyable summer read.

The narration by Leslie Howard was very good and made it a pleasure to listen to.

I was gifted a copy of this audiobook via Dreamscape Media and NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Here is my advice on reading this book – pour yourself a glass of Bread and Butter Chardonnay, grab a beach chair, and nestle yourself in the sand because you are going to love reading, The Hotel by Pamela Kelley!
The setting for this delightful book is the grand and iconic jewel of Nantucket, The Whitley Hotel that has been in the family for generations. The Matriarch of the family, Wynn Whitley orchestrates where family members are suited best in the organization. All staff members must maintain the high level of service, discretion (for the celebrities that stay with them), and culinary standard that the Whitley is known for. Wynne will not stand for any less of his staff even if they are family.
The story begins with Wynne needing to make a management change, a celebrity checking into the hotel, and a new hired consultant who is observing daily operations. Could it be that Wynne is preparing to sell the beloved hotel?
This is a wonderful story filled with family drama, romance, and characters that you will feel like you know. Pamela Kelley does a wonderful job with character development and telling a great story. The book is a quick read that I could not put down. I will highly recommend it to others.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator is Leslie Howard who expertly balances the voices of the various characters and kept me engaged throughout the book.
I am grateful to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Pamela Kelley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest and true review.

The Hotel by Pamela M. Kelley was such a fun audiobook! This one flew by at just under seven hours and could be listened to in a day though I had to stretch it out two unfortunately for me. It was so pleasant and fun to escape to Nantucket and the Whitley Hotel where The Hotel is set. Kelley sets up a family story with love interests, drama and career changes at this family run five star hotel. It was fun to take a peak behind the curtain of hotel management. Perfect for getting back into audiobooks if you haven't listened in a while!

This saga, set in Nantucket, focuses on a wealthy family that owns an upscale hotel. It involves family drama, business strategies and romance. I thought the romantic pairings were a bit too obvious and they really didn't provide much interest. Some of the secondary storylines (e.g., the President's visit) really didn't have much to do with the overall plot. In fact, I'm not sure what the overall theme was supposed to be, other than describing the lives of the people who run a hotel. And, even that was rather mundane. Could have been a lot more interesting.

I totally enjoyed this story. It leaves you feeling like a trip to Nantucket. The description made you feel like you were there. The characters all had their own struggles but they each followed their heart. Sometimes they found that what they think they want isn't what they need.

A heartwarming story about families and finding your place in the world. I liked how the story followed four cousins (three are siblings and their cousin) and instead of breaking it out into four different books, you get all the stories here (no cliffhangers). It was a quick read, perfect for the beach or to jus5 lose yourself in a story for awhile. The narration was well done but mispronunciation of one word kind of bothered me (it only happened twice).

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator was excellent and the narration never detracted from the story. The Hotel covered many different relationships, with the main characters being Paula,, Andrea and Nick. I would have enjoyed more of Paula's story, as Paula always seemed to be in the background. But all in all it was a great beach listen. Thank you to netgalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of the audiobook in return for a fair and honest review.

Thanks to the publisher for allowing me an advance reader review copy of the audiobook version of The Hotel through NetGalley.

From the beginning The Hotel is a beautiful book. I’ve never been to Nantucket, but I definitely want to get there after this book.
The Hotel
Isn’t one of those big plot books. This is my first book by this author, so that might be a signature of her stories. I loved that. I loved that the book was a deep exploration of characters in conflict.I loved the family ties and the search for more and the way the characters found what they were looking for, even those who didn’t know they were looking.
I will definitely be reading more of Kelley’s books. The Hotel was a great read!

I enjoyed this as an audiobook. Initially, keeping up with all the characters was a little confusing, but after listening a while I was able to keep them straight. I am also coming to love books about Nantucket.

The book follows Paula Whitley and her family who all work at the family-owned hotel, The Whitley. Paula is given the general manager role at the hotel. Her grandfather hires a consultant, David, to help guide her and assess how well she is doing with the job. Nick is Paula’s brother and a chef at The Whitley. The book explores many family relationships and dynamics.

“The Hotel” by Pamela M. Kelley
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Audiobook 🎧

Thank you Netgalley for giving me a copy of this book in Audio form. This is my second book by this author and both were really enjoyable beach reads. Who doesn’t love a book set in Nantucket?

Nantucket’s exclusive family owned-hotel The Whitley is in need of a tune up. Owner Wynn Whitley decides his granddaughter Andrea is no longer qualified to be the GM after numerous complaints and is better fit for a hotel concierge roll. He then offers the GM
Roll to his other granddaughter Paula and agrees to a trial run as he is bringing in a Hotel Consultant to gain new insight on improving the hotel. Paula isn’t sure she wants to move from her quiet office as the hotel accountant. When she discovers the hotel consultant is David Connolly she isn’t sure if she can handle his criticism and arrogant ways. Paula learns his mother is suffering from dementia and deserves a break. She quickly realizes the job is hard, but rewarding.
Nick is the hotels masterful chef and when he meets hotel guest Bella he instantly becomes smitten. The problem is she has secrets of her own. Would Nick really like her for who she is?

The Hotel is a nice breezy read. There’s just enough drama and suspense to keep you turning the pages, with a healthy dose of romance thrown in. If you read everything Nantucket related, then add this to your book stack.

This was expected but enjoyable--light read perfect for summer (and definitely makes me want to visit Nantucket ASAP). Fun read.

I stumbled on Pamela Kelley books randomly as I was looking for a filler in between Elin Hilderbrand's! When I saw the Hotel on NetGalley, I knew I had to try this one. I liked this one more than her others - the idea of a hotel on the island, family drama, celebrities and more. It was a great summer beach read.

Thanks to Netgalley for The Hotel by Pamela Kelley. I am a big fan of the Beach Plum Cove B & B series and some of the main characters from that series have cameos in this book. This author is very entertaining and her books seem to guarantee family relationships, food and wine (lots of both), a little intrigue and a little romance.
It won’t tax your brain except for the number of characters but is a fun read set on Nantucket.
This one appears to be a stand-alone and it was good but I prefer the series books because you get to find out what happens next.

This was a quick listen and one I found myself looking forward to tuning into each time I listened. I loved the setting of the story and the familial component that went along with the Whitney Hotel. Books set in Nantucket are always intriguing and because there are so many, readers become familiar with Nantucket landmarks and hotspots. I also think this book could be turned into a series focusing more on each individual character.

Reviewing
The Hotel
By Pamela Kelley

What a lovely, light summer read in beautiful Nantucket. Kelley’s vivid writing will have readers who love the island and those who have never been alike, googling Nantucket VRBOs. Who wouldn’t want to see first hand the ocean views, mouthwatering seafood, and rejuvenating environment?!?

Intriguing characters juggle their own personal affairs while navigating the future of the hotel among their unique family dynamics. A bit of drama, a few simmering romances, and a big event to make or break the family business all come together to create the perfect beach read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫4.5 stars for this highly recommendable read with a PG rating for all readers

A perfectly good beach or poolside book. I did not like the "dumps" of background information on people. Otherwise, it was fine.
