First of all, we love a good South Asian rep and Sajni Patel does a great job at showcasing in her books the diversity found within the South Asian community. Second, the romance! There was a lot of history to work with between the two characters and that history really informed the present day interactions between the characters. This created a very believable connection and a strong foundation for a romance to blossom!

I didn’t really get into the book until the last chapter (chapter 4), it was a little slow for me, with that being said, I am giving it 3 stars. Not a bad book! Might add it to my shelf to finish later.

I enjoyed Sajni Patel's previous book, The Trouble with Hating You, so I'm excited for this new one.

Both Preeti and Daniel are characters introduced in the author's previous book, and it's nice to read about their story finally. The first four chapters give us a glimpse of their personalities and family background, which are a focal point of their characters and their relationship. It also provides us with a glimpse of their banter and how their friends view them individually and as a couple, and it shows that they are rooting for them both.

It seems like a lovely book that I'm going to pick up soon. Thank you for the opportunity to read the preview!

If the first four chapters are anything to go on this book is going to be a hit with contemporary romance lovers! Preeti and Daniel's chemistry is amazing and I am so looking forward to reading the rest of their story.

The first few chapters didn’t really hook me, but i do love a good forced proximity story and a second chance romance, so may come back to this one down the line!

**Honest review for a free copy. Thank you to Sajni Patel, Netgalley, and the publisher.** This review only covers a sneak peek of chapters 1 through 4, not the entire book. This just didn't work for me. It started out in a humorous way, with some pretty racey lines in regards to Preeti's medical field of work, but the writing feels underdeveloped and missing a lot of information; what I read sounds like I should already know more about what the author was referring to. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of this friend group, but it wasn't done well enough to keep me interested. Preeti needs to move out of her apartment because her roommate and new husband will be taking it over. Her friend has offered up her apartment for the next 2 months, but the catch is, she will have to share it with her former flame. Although Preeti is engaged to marry someone, she has made it clear that it's not a good match and she's worried about being in close quarters with her ex. The premise sounds fun and spicy, but I wish the writing did more justice to the plot. I hope the finished copy read differently than this snippet.

I was given an advanced reading copy of chapter 1-4 of First Love, Take two through Net Galley. The first 3-4 pages were a bit slow to start but this book is going to be amazing. A second chance romance, proximity living in one apartment (set up), and doctor/billionaire romance sign me up! Can not wait to see where their love story will take them.

The main characters have a bit to work through and I am looking forward to Preetia disclosing why she broke up with Daniel, and the response Daniel will have.

I think I would like it better if the beginning of the story had just started with Preeti and Daniel “accidentally” ending up at the party together and without the intro, since I think a lot of those elements could have been introduced either during that scene, if it were extended, or after the fact! That would have been more of a hook to get me into the story, personally.

I enjoyed Sajni Patel's The Trouble with Hating You last year and was so excited to read this book featuring on of TTWHY's side characters, Preeti. The four chapter preview completely sucked me in to the world of the first book of Indian friends and families. I love the voice I'm hearing from Preeti so far. After reading the preview, I hunted down the rest of the book - successful preview!

Well, now I need to go buy this book. I'm a sucker for second chance romance, so I just need to know what happens next! And to top it off they're going to be roommates?? The beginning of this book absolutely hooked me and I cannot wait to read the rest!

I really enjoyed this preview! I've been considering picking this one up for awhile and these four chapters make me want to do so even more! I recommend this based on the beginning as it seems super fun and cute. Thank you for allowing me to read this sneak peek.

These first four chapters are a great introduction to a story that I didn't want to put down. It covers the basics of how these two main characters ended up in the situation they're in, separated but pining for each other and not sure how to get back together - enter friends and sisters who come up a great scheme to see what happens. I didn't want to put this one down after those first four chapters, and highly encourage you to pick up the book to find out how it all unfolds. There's two tropes here that I loved that made up for a trope that's not my favorite - one bed and interfering relatives. Plus this book discusses tough topics like mental health and racism in a really interesting and well-done way.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

I was apprehensive going into it because when we meet Preeti in the Trouble with Hating You, I didn’t connect with her character. But when she became the narrator in this book, she won me over completely. Preeti is in the final months of her residency (every brown parents dream) and is in an arranged engagement. But what she isn’t able to admit even to herself is that she is in love with her first boyfriend, Daniel. Well fate (and meddling friends) bring the two back together when they have to share an apartment. Yes we get all the forced proximity & one bed trope moments of our dreams in this book.

As the two reconnect, they finally begin to unpack their history. Without spoiling too much, I will say this is one of the best second chance stories I have read and it made me want to believe in soulmates.

Along with the love story, this book touches on 2 of the most ‘taboo’/ignored topics in South Asian communities: mental health and racism. Preeti is quite literally the epitome of the brown parent dream chid and still deals with acute anxiety. And she is a medical professional who acknowledges the deep set stigma that holds her back from seeking help to treat it. And this is an interracial romance story. Her relationship with Daniel, a Black man, faces many obstacles from Preeti’s family and community. I really appreciate how Sajni Patel handled both of these issues. There are candid conversations between characters and it isn’t over dramatized. Overall, it felt very relatable, reminding of situations I have seen and experienced in the South Asian community.

I will definitely be recommending this book for a long time to come. It is a very easy read, filled with love, humor, and sentiment. Also, I’m just gonna throw out that Daniel is top notch Book Boyfriend material and I might be obsessed.

I loved Sajni Patel's previous book so this preview basically made me purchase the full book. Racism, Colorism, this book had it all. Second chance love stories are often hard to do but this one was so well done

If this preview doesn't get your heart pumping and give you all the feels, then you're dead inside...just kidding, but really...the dynamics between the characters are instant fire, and I love a good second chance romance, especially one where they're more like enemies!

The preview did just enough to get me too excited to finish this sequel. I can’t wait to finish what is ultimately going to be a delicious sequel.

The book wasn't for me. We barely know anything about the guy or their past relationship, he is just this perfect guy. We just know know their relationship was good and it was a lot of tell instead of show. Most of the problems of this book would've been solved if Preeti had just opened her mouth and communicated with people. Her parents were good so I fail to understand why she never try to have a conversation with them.

Preeti Patel’s best friend and roommate has just gotten married, which means she needs to find new accommodations before the couple returns from their honeymoon. After missing the deadline to sign a lease for an apartment, she is left with no choice but to find herself sharing accommodations with her ex-boyfriend Daniel Thompson. She has been actively avoiding him for the past 6 years after breaking things off with him. How will living with her ex for a few weeks work out?

This was a preview of the first 4 chapters and I was left wanting more. The chemistry in Preeti and Daniel’s reactions clearly show that they have feelings for each other, but there is obviously hurt and misunderstanding on both sides, as well as new love interests for both of them. The look into Preeti’s mind from the first person narration, show the fact that both families did not support the match. Knowing they still have a spark for each other despite objections from their families makes me want to root for both Preeti and Daniel to get a second chance.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever for this preview.

I absolutely loved reading the first few chapters. I love that there is whit and humor to this story and that Preeti feels very familiar as a narrator to the story. I don't know how it will deal with the class/racial issues bought up in the first few chapters but it looks like it's heading in a promising direction.

Some of the wording is slightly awkward so I'm hoping that's improved with the book's official release.

Also, I'm already really loving Daniel's relationship with his grandparents. It's so sweet and wholesome.

I'll definitely be wanting to read the rest of it!
