So enjoyed these first chapters! I just adored The Trouble With Hating You and I was so happy to see this preview pop up on Netgalley!

I loved this and can't wait to read the rest of Sajni Patel's "First Love, Take Two." Reminiscent of Sonali Dev's lovable Raje family stories, Patel delivers a witty forbidden lovers narrative. The writing is rich, the characters are immediately likeable, and it's clear that you're only going to fall more in love as the novel unfolds.

I really enjoyed The Trouble With Hating You. So I was, and still am, looking forward to First Love, Take Two.

The first four chapters were fabulous. The book started off strong and stayed strong all the way through chapter 4. It left me wanting to read the rest of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the opportunity to see what one of my next reads will be.

I was hooked after the first four chapters and would like to find out more about what’s going to happen to our couple. Can’t wait!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this ARC

This was such a fun read! I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Trouble With Hating You (TTWHY) and I adored the world that Sajni Patel put together so I was naturally very excited to read this. Preeti as a narrator feels very familiar, in the sense that she felt like me and the people I knew (or what I could imagine their internal dialogue is like, at least). I don't know how it will deal with the cultural issues presented by the premise yet - the start doesn't indicate that it will be bad or good. I think where this preview falters is similar to TTWHY: the wording can be slightly clunky or awkward. That being said, all of the characters, as usual seem so alive and I cannot wait to see what happens between Preeti and Danial - and see what happened.

I'm super excited to read the full book!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to preview First Love, Take Two. I enjoyed the first four chapters of the book, and plan to read the full story once it is published! I often seek out books that feature physicians, so I was so excited to discover that the heroine, Preeti, has almost completed her residency as chief resident (you go, girl!!!). While I didn't see much of Daniel within the first four chapters, the glimpses I saw of him, especially his sweet relationship with his grandparents, have me thinking he has great potential to be a new favorite of the book boyfriends. I am looking forward to September 21 and to reading Preeti and Daniel's second take on love!

I love getting a sneak peek into a book from a new-to-me author! This one starts off strong and continues throughout the first four chapters. I am officially hooked and can't wait to read more!

I really enjoyed this book. To me, it wasn't just another romance novel, but the issues talked about were very real and present today, which made the story even more interesting. Patel did a wonderful job getting into the layers of both characters, Preeti and Daniel, both romantically together and individually with their families and friendships. At times it was really heartbreaking, especially with Preeti's touch aversion, anxiety, and the racism with her cultural community, but I loved where we left these two. This was definitely one of those books where when I finished I just sat and smiled.

Thank you so much to @readforeverpub & @netgalley for this e-arc of First Love Take Two! 💕

The story about the second chances and how you can’t escape what’s meant to be! The story follows Dr. Preeti & hottie Daniel Thompson. The two fell in love and when things got messy Preeti didn’t want she thought was right and left and now it’s been some years since the two have spoken but when fate gets in the way the will have no choice but to discuss what really happened all those years ago. This story is sweet, sexy but also can get very serious when discussing topics like: interracial dating, xenophobia, depression, anxiety, assault & racism. The two is also about life allowing second chances and how we can learn from past mistakes. My final take away: sometimes some people are worth fighting for even if that person is yourself and your happiness.

If you like:
✅forced proximity
✅multicultural romance
✅badass main character
✅romance
✅redemption story

Definitely check this one out!

I read the first book in this series, The Trouble with Hating You, which I only thought was ok. I requested this title because I liked the sound of this novel's premise. While I liked what I read, it wasn't enough to convince me to read the whole thing.

This. This might just become one of my favorite romance novels of 2021 and I've only read 4 chapters of it. I love the writing style and the dynamic that the characters have going on. I love that it's OwnVoices, and I really can't wait to actually dive into this book soon!

I’m dying to get the rest of this book! I love second chance romances and I’m so excited to see what’s going to happen between Preeti and Daniel, and see how Daniel reacts when he finds out why Preeti ended things. I also think there’s going to be some forced proximity and i’m very much looking forward to it!

I love the premise of this story! The author's writing style is engaging and is setting up the mood of the story. I'm really excited to read this book.

I want to see how the tension slowly builds between these two.

Wow, those four chapters made me swoon and cry. I love Sajni's writing style. Sometimes I struggle with connecting with the story and characters, but she already described Preeti in details: her profession, friends and family, and why she broke up with Daniel.
I'm glad we could hear about Liya and Jay again. I already know this book will be as good as The Trouble with Hating You. I mean, who doesn't like a second chance romance with a strong female protagonist?

I really loved this preview!! I'm a sucker for the second chances trope in romances so I will definitely be reading this book in full when it's released. Chapter 1-2 was a bit on the slow side for me, but I was completely hooked by Chapter 4. Really excited to see the rest of this story unfold!

Pub date for First Love, Take Two is Sept 21!! Thank you so much to NetGalley and Sajni Patel for an eARC of chapters 1-4 in exchange for an honest review.

I love a second chance romance! Paired with the close proximity and clear tension between Preeti and Daniel makes me want to know how their story will unfold. This preview makes me so excited to read the rest of the book!

I only got to read the first 4 chapters of this book but so far I'm definitely interested in what happens next. I'm curious to see how Daniel will react to Preeti's reasoning for breaking up and I really hope that Preeti tells him sooner rather than later. I do like that Preeti has tried to move on and is confident in her career and respect that she had a good reason for breaking up with Daniel (to protect her parents and Daniel). However, the fact that she keeps running away from him isn't cool. I'm really excited about what'll happen once they move in together but they obviously still have feelings for each other!

I am so ready for this book release! I am such a sucker for second chance romances and this one seems to be hitting all the right notes. I'm already in love with Preeti and all her quirky awkwardness and don't get me started on the tightknit family dynamic going on between Daniel, Brandy, and their grandparents. From these first chapters, it seems that the book will touch on some serious subjects, including SA and racism, but they seem to be handled well and written with genuine care. I look forward to reading the whole thing soon!
