First, a huge thank you to NetGalley for providing me a preview of this book. Second, gosh darn you NetGalley for only providing me a glimpse of this book. As soon as I saw Sajni Patel’s next book available on NetGalley, I swooped in to request a copy. I was lucky enough to get a preview of chapters 1-4 and Let. Me. Tell. You. - This book is good.

I flew through the pages instantly captivated by Preeti and her touch aversion. As someone who truly values her personal space, I gotta tell you, finding a kindred spirit is everything. What I love most about Sajni Patel’s writing is her willingness to connect her previous book with this one. We get updates on the whole friend group and of course about Liya and Jay. Somehow the fact that the stories are interconnected works perfectly. Readers of The Trouble with Hating You connected deeply to Jay and Liya. Continuing to provided snippets of their story only seems right.

Preeti is at a crossroads in her profession. Her residency is finishing up and she’s interviewing for jobs. Her research is a bit behind and the stress is mounting. The last thing she needs is added stress with Daniel, her ex-boyfriend reappearing. These two lovers to enemies are bound to lock horns. Neither is willing to let the other off the hook for what happened six years before.

I can’t wait to keep reading this one! September is just too far! I need to know now what happens to these two!

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for the chance to read a preview!

The preview did its job and I am so intrigued to read more of this book! Usually second chance is not my catnip, but here it seems like instead of the protagonists having been bad for each other, it was more that there was a messy swirl of society and family issues (like....racism) getting in the way. I'm mindful of the content notes the author mentions at the top of the book but hopeful that it will all be dealt with in a way that gets us a well-deserved HEA. Plus, Preeti's opening paragraph of narration is so quirky I can't resist seeing where this character goes.

First of all, thank you for the preview!

The first four chapters are really really good and I can't wait for the whole book! Preeti and Daniel *sighs* they have angst, chemistry and honestly? I'm already in love. I also really likes the relashionship between Daniel and his family. And Preeti is an amazing character, I'm excited to see more of her. She is a real human and it's nice when we find books with human characters and with a good development.! I'll definitely read on release day!

Just finished the first four chapters and I need more! I'm already invested in Preeti and Daniel, I love how quickly their chemistry and tension is developed. I can't wait to find out what ensues under their new living arrangement. Grandma and Grandpa Thompson and Daniel's sister all seem like awesome supporting characters. I'm really excited about that because such strong supporting characters really take a good book to the next level. The descriptions of Daniel's grandparents' cooking had me drooling. I also connected with Preeti and her touch aversion, it is comforting to see a bit of yourself in a main character. I'm curious to find out more about what happened with Liya and hopeful that we will see Preeti's family come around and Daniel stand up to his parents.

This was my first time reading Patel's work. I will definitely be reading the remainder of this book as well as checking out Patel's backlist!
