Lost angels is book three in the agent Nikki hunt series, if you haven’t read books one and two I highly recommend as a they are amazing and being it will really help you understand the premise of book three.

Nikki hunt and her team are called out to a crime scene of a dead lady. They have been called out because she has a the hallmarks of the serial killer she’s been Following. When she gets there she realises that she knows the victim not only does she know her the victim is her childhood best friend Emily.

I find this to be really exciting fast paced book as per usual the narrative was amazing and easy to follow but also leaving you on tender hooks as you go from one chapter to another. I found myself wanting to know why the killer had chosen her friend, and if this was done on purpose what was the message that was trying to be sent. It honestly was a roller coaster of a ride, more questions than answers and that is what I love in a crime thriller.

Nikki is a great special agent so reading a story again following this character really brought back memories of how good the first two books were as well. I find Nikki to be a very likeable lead protagonist and that continues to be shown throughout.
What adds to this book is we get to know more about Nikkis childhood as Emily was around for her after her parent’s murder so we get to read flashbacks also, which really adds to her character and help to provide a greater narrative around that event as it’s something we had prior knowledge about.

Honestly I had absolutely no idea who the killer was, I had my suspicions on why they were killing and my suspicion were correct but who it was I genuinely had zero I ideas. That is rare for me and that is what I love about crime books! You can see the motive often before you can see the criminals and that makes it epic. It really allows you to feel like you’re part of the investigation and also part of Nikki’s mindset.

As per usual it’s graphic it’s fun it's not a light read but it’s very easy one to get managed to do it in one sitting as I really did love this book.

If I say anymore about this book I will end up giving away spoilers by accident so all I will say is trust no one as per usual and enjoy it. If you haven’t read book 1 . The girl in the snow or 2. Her perfect grave do so first!!! 5 stars easy one today. Recommended to all like minded crime thriller lovers.

Thank you to netgalley, Donna Perry and the publishers for the digital advance copy of lost angels in exchange for my fair and honest opinions.

Another exciting and compelling police procedural from Stacy Green in her Nikki Hunt series. It is full of mystery, peril, twists, turns, red herrings and also features plenty of intrigue and drama. There's never a dull moment from first line to last. I highly recommend it if you enjoy well woven police procedurals with twists that take you by surprise and enough going to on to keep you thoroughly engaged throughout.

'Lost Angels' by Stacy Green is the third book in the Nikki hunt series and I re experienced the thrill of chasing the culprit.....much more than in the second book that I had read.

Nikki hunt is an FBI agent and she along with Liam her partner gets called to a frozen area where a dead body of a woman is found in a way very similar to how the serial killer named Frost would leave the bodies. On closer look she realises it's the body of her school friend Anne-Marie Mason. The search to find Frost leads her to uncover the mystery and mentally takes her back to the tragedy in her life? Who is Frost? How does Nikki catch him? To know more please read this thrilling book.

Although it's the third book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone but I so loved it that I could piece a part of Nikki's story through this story. The serial killer, intertwining of the her past with her present and the way in which secrets are revealed is very well written. Not easy to put down once I started reading it. Lacy is as usual her cute self, Lacey's dad is the ever understanding ex husband to Nikki and she is surrounded by amazing helpful colleagues like Liam and Courtney. The tragedies, the secrets, the twists all make this story worthwhile.

A strong minded FBI agent, a mystery to unravel mixed with personal history is what makes this book stand out.
Do pick this one up if you like any of these elements.
I thank Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for approving my request to read and review the book and the opinions expressed are all mine.

“I know her…”

Okay! So what if the penny began to drop about half way through the story? Would I have even had the remotest thoughts about side-lining the rest of the book?

Not on your life! Never in a million years would I have passed up the opportunity to see this journey through to the bitter end, because I know from past experience that any investigation Nikki Hunt is involved in, “ain’t over until the fat lady sings”, and that author Stacy Green wouldn’t have hesitated to keep throwing in those curved balls, right up until the finish line!

Besides which, my sleuthing powers aren’t always as good as I imagine them to be, so I might have been on completely the wrong track! Not that I had to wait too long to find out, as I powered my way through this addictive, need-to-know-now, storyline in less than 24 hours!

This story hit the ground running and the intensely relentless, grinding pace, never let up until The Frost Killer is at large no more. Oh! and just to make sure that my reading OCD tendencies weren’t forgotten, Nikki Hunt managed to live to fight another day, although more than a little battered and bruised by the experience and made fully aware that “revenge is a dish that is best served cold”

The first three episodes in the Nikki Hunt series, have featured this same fearless protagonist, who leaves his own unique ‘calling card’ as he despatches his victims. It has become clear with the passing of time, that he is calmly yet deliberately goading and baiting Nikki herself, which is beginning to make her professional life very difficult and leaves her very complicated personal life, becoming evermore disjointed and frayed around the edges. Not to worry if you haven’t managed to catch all three books, although of course they are all brilliant and deserve to be shared, as the ongoing backstory is fully fleshed out, as and when necessary, as the story unfolds, but without becoming repetitive or taking up valuable plot space in the book. This saga needed to be wrapped up for everyone concerned, in the hope that Nikki can now reconcile and weave together, the two things most important to her, career and family, as she moves forward, especially with the one final, devastating body blow inflicted on her and which I definitely never saw coming. What do I think her chances are of her ever having that stable, joined-up life? – A big fat zero!

Whilst trying to keep a lid on her overflowing emotions as The Frost Killer becomes more and more daring and dangerous, Nikki also has to battle the divisive and uncooperative nature of the many autocratic and autonomous local police and sheriff’s departments, who have become involved in the investigation. With her own team behind her 100% and able to air and discuss any divisions they may have between them, or between them and Nikki as their leader, the last thing that anyone needs are any obstructive and self serving law enforcement officers withholding vital information, in the hope of making a name for themselves. But Nikki proves she is more than able to handle herself and is quite prepared to crack heads together when necessary, although she is first to hold her hands up when she makes a mistake and she definitely takes it personally if she has inadvertently put anyone’s life in danger along the way.

This multi-layered, intensely textured story, is rich in atmosphere and skilfully structured, by an author totally at ease with her characters and confident in her storytelling, as she builds an immersive experience for her readers. There is some great visuality to the assured and observational narrative and conversational dialogue, which offers a real sense of time and place, although I was trying not to visualise myself alongside the frozen waters of this Minnesotan landscape too hard, as I couldn’t think of a more dark and forbidding place to have my remains left to be discovered by unsuspecting passers by.

Stacy has created and given life, to a well drawn and defined cast of characters, who are more than capable of forging their own journey and telling their story, in a voice which is loud and clear. They very much drive this investigation and are given an equal stake in how everything eventually pans out, as ultimately the decisions which can change lives in just the blink of an eye, are their and theirs alone. Yes, they are an emotionally complex bunch, but they are also authentic and genuine, which makes them totally believable and relatable, as they have established a synergy and code of ethics, which makes them easy to connect with, whether I wanted to or not in some cases!

All I know, is that I can’t wait for Nikki to have a new investigation to get her teeth into, and as Stacy did give away a teensy spoiler at the end of the book, I already know it is one not to be missed!

EXCERPT: 'There's something here.' Still crouched next to the truck, Miller snapped on a latex glove and reached behind the front driver's side tire. He held up a business card. 'Annmarie Mason, Network Engineer at VP-Cloud. Her cell and a PO Box are listed.' He turned the card over, and Nikki could tell by his shocked eyes that something important was on the back.

'What is it?' she asked.

'If found, call FBI Special Agent Nikki Hunt' - your office number is on here.'

Wordlessly, Nikki put on a glove, and Miller placed the card in her hand. She immediately recognized the neat cursive she'd always envied. 'Oh Annmarie,' Nikki whispered. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. 'What did you get yourself into?'

ABOUT 'LOST ANGELS': When Special Agent Nikki Hunt is called to the Boundary Waters near Stillwater, Minnesota, it’s not just the cold that shocks her to her core: the body of a young woman has been found frozen beside a remote lake. Nikki is devastated to see the victim is her childhood friend Annmarie, and she recognizes the velvet ribbon tied in her hair as the hallmark of a serial killer who she has been hunting for years.

Desperate for justice, Nikki throws herself into the case. But she is shaken by what she finds at Annmarie’s home: a dead-bolt on her front door and a map in the spare room, with the locations of murdered women circled in thick, red marker. Did Annmarie know she was next? Then Nikki finds out that the killer has left a clue in Annmarie’s bedroom: a photo of Nikki’s mother that no one has ever seen. Has the murderer at large been in Nikki’s life since she was a child?

Nikki soon realizes that the key to unlocking this case is in her own family, but digging up the past could put her own daughter in danger. She has spent her whole life protecting the ones she loves, but to find this killer Nikki might have to risk everything…

MY THOUGHTS: I loved Stacy Green's Lucy Kendall series, and although it has taken me a little longer to warm to Nikki Hunt, I really found my footing with this series in Lost Angels.

I had far more trouble liking Nikki than I did Lucy. I am still not sure that I actually like Nikki much. Not that that's necessary for me to like the book, obviously, but . . . just saying. She comes across as kind of 'cold', despite her obvious love for her daughter, Lacey, who is one cool kid, and absolutely my favourite character. This could be because Nikki is very good at compartmentalising her life. But she makes decisions that I simply do not understand, often just handing Lacey over to whomever is available. It's job first, everything else second for Nikki.

Now that I have had my rant . . . Nikki has been trying to catch this killer for 5 years, but now it's become personal. The killer is taunting her, killing first her high school best friend, then abducting the sister of one of his first victims.

This is high octane stuff. It's gripping, and tense. I had absolutely no idea where the story was headed, and was giving my 'little grey cells' plenty of exercise trying to figure out who the killer was.

My only criticism of the story was that, despite the strong personal connections, Nikki was allowed to remain on the case when, really, she should have been stood down, especially once it became obvious that her family was in danger.

A good, solid read. I do recommend that this series be read in order, otherwise a lot of character development, family relationships, and references to past incidents won't be completely understood.

Lost Angels by Stacy Green is the third book in the Agent Nikki Hunt series. I have read all the series so when I saw 'Lost Angels' I knew I wanted to be a part of the tour. Nikki is a FBI Profiler/Special Agent who, in the first book of the series returned to Stillwater after twenty years away.
In this instalment we see Nikki called to Boundary waters not far from Stillwater. She is shocked to the core to discover the frozen womans' body which she is called to is her childhood friend Annemarie. To make matters worse she has a velvet ribbon tied in her hair-the calling card of Frost, a serial killer that Nikki has been hunting for way too long. As Nikki investigates it becomes clear that maybe Frost has been around a lot longer than she has known.
This Is another action packed, fast paced and boy enough thrills to have my heart in my mouth at times. Nikki is an excellent detective who is smart, highly resourceful and determined. This woman has been through the mill and come out the other side so strong. The book is told from her perspective so the reader might as well be in her head as we go through the investigation with her. Stacy Green has perfectly developed Nikki over these three books and this book sees the almost finale of Nikki and Frost. It is almost like a crescendo. The twists, turns and tension in this story makes you feel like you need to catch a breath...but in a good way! From the start there is a reveal of some sort which made me feel like I was pulled into the book even more at each point. It made this story such an immersive one, I lost track of time and read it in two sittings.
As always with Stacy Greens' writing, you feel everything that Nikki is dealing with and even though all three books are fabulous this one seems to have the edge over the other two. Maybe it is the tying up of the loose ends from the previous events, but it is an exhilarating read
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my gifted copy of the book.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Lost Angels' by Stacy Green.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Stacy Green, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 27th August 2021.

This is the second book I have read by this author. It is also the third book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series but can be read as a standalone. I have previously read 'The Girls In The Snow' which is the first book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series and which I highly recommend.

I was originally drawn to this book by its beautiful eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that 'Fans of Karin Slaughter, Lisa Gardner and Robert Dugoni will be completely addicted to this heart-pounding thriller.' I am a huge fan of Karin Slaughter and Lisa Gardner so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Stacy Green and if this is half as good as 'The Girls In The Snow' it is sure to be a page turning read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue and 30 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is set in Minnesota, USA 🇺🇸.

This book is written in first person perspective with the main protagonist is Special Agent Nikki Hunt. The benefits of third person perspective are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.

Wow!!! Yet another absolutely unputdownable addictive book in this gripping series!!! Very well written with fantastic descriptions this book had the perfect settings and a great storyline! The cover and blog suited the book perfectly.

The storyline started straight into the action and sucked me straight in where it kept me until the last page. Filled with murder, lies, suspense, action and many a red herring I didn't have a clue who did what which is a huge bonus when it comes to crime novels for me. There's nothing worse than working it all out and your not even half way through the book. This book is absolutely addictive and I read it in one sitting. It kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with my heart absolutely pounding throughout especially at the end and OMG I WAS NOT expecting THAT BOMBSHELL!!! I really am looking forward to the next episode in what is definitely A gripping, all consuming addictive series.

Although this is the third book in the series there would be absolutely no problems reading it without the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.

I absolutely loved meeting Nikki, Liam, Rory, Caitlin and Courtney again. I love the fact that the females are such was a strong women who was not to be messed with. Although Nikki went through hell as a teenager and continued to do so in this book she was definitely not being dragged down. She had a massive personality and her team worked well together, each having their own individuality which is always great to see. All the characters were believable and worked really well with the story. The team dynamics are perfect and they all work well together, they can laugh together and bring each other comfort and it's lovely to see a team of friends work together in a book. I am looking forward to meeting them all again in the next novel.

Another fantastic bookouture author who hits my favourite author list and another book I would love to see made into a movie!!!

A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS ON YET ANOTHER FANTASTIC SUCCESS STACY AND HERE'S TO MANY MORE 🍻!!!!

Overall an absolute kick ass start to what promises to be a nail biting, action packed fantastic series!!

Genres covered in this novel include Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, Romance Novel, Police Procedural and Crime Fiction amongst others.

I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of Karin Slaughter, M. J. Arlidge, P. J. Tracy and anyone after an action packed crime book.

233 pages.

This book is just £1.99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5 /5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

Wow.... I've just finished Lost Angel's. I was so hooked on it I fell asleep reading it and had to pick it up as soon as I wrote up! A brilliant, thrilling crime novel with strong female characters. Nikki Hunt is an FBI special agent and single mum who shares the care of her daughter with ex husband who also works for the FBI. She had been searching for Frost for about 5 years ago. Will she succeed in apprehending a murderer?

The 3rd book in the series is a riveting read and steps up the pace from the previous stories.

When Nikki’s old friend is found murdered, the clues left seem to hint that Frost has returned and is intent on killing people close to her. Then a young woman is kidnapped and it appears that this is also the work of Frost. Nikki is left racing the clock to try and find the missing woman and Frost.

This had a shocking finale and I eagerly await book 4.

Can heartily recommend this book. This can be read as a standalone but would recommend reading the previous two to fully understand Nikki’s history.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my review.

Lost Angels is the third book in the police procedural series featuring Agent Nikki Hunt. Set in Stillwater, Minnesota, FBI Profiler/ Special Agent Nikki makes a very likeable agent. Nikki came back to Stillwater after twenty years of working away, and I first met her in book one, The Girls in the Snow.

In this instalment, Nikki Hunt pits her wits against a serial killer, nicknamed Frost. She gets a terrible shock when she realises his latest victim is well known to her; it's Annmarie, her childhood friend.

This compelling and engaging story hotted up with alacrity. The characters were very well portrayed and protagonist Nikki has been created and developed wonderfully. Nikki is resourceful, intelligent and complex and there is a lot going on in her personal life.

Lost Angels was extremely compulsive with plenty of action, reveals and crazy plot twists. Stacy Green's writing was a good fit for me and I believe she excels when it comes to character development. I was glued to the pages and I didn't want to put this book down as I was desperate to know the outcome of the story. As the tension snowballed in this edge-of-your-seat read, the story bounded towards the resolution, the suspense culminating in a heart-pounding finale. Going forward, I’m very keen to read more in this exciting series. A very highly recommended crime-thriller.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Bookouture via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

When Nikki Hunt is called to the Boundary Waters to see if this may be the latest victim of the Frost killer, she finds that it is her childhood friend, AnneMarie. While she starts to investigate the murder, the younger sister of the first victim of the Frost killer is missing. As she starts to uncover more clues, the killer seems to be killing people that have connections to her. Is she the real target? I have been reading Ms. Green's books from the start and she keeps getting better and better as an author. This is her best work yet! I look forward to the next book in this series.

Lost Angels by Stacy Green is the third book in the Special Agent Nikki Hunt series and It was an excellent book. I was gripped from the very first few pages, just like Stacy's other two books within this series.

"When Special Agent Nikki Hunt is called to the Boundary Waters near Stillwater, Minnesota, it’s not just the cold that shocks her to her core: the body of a young woman has been found frozen beside a remote lake. Nikki is devastated to see the victim is her childhood friend Annmarie, and she recognises the velvet ribbon tied in her hair as the hallmark of a serial killer who she has been hunting for years."

Desperate for justice, Nikki throws herself into the case especially as its her childhood friend. Will Special Agent Nikki Hunt catch the killer before they strike again?

Tick Tock the clock is clicking and every second counts!

WoW......What a brilliant and shocking start to Stacy's new book...............

I highly recommend these books. Another excellent book!

Big Thank you to Bookouture, Stacy Green and Netgalley for my free ARC which I reviewed voluntarily and honestly.

This is the 3rd book in the Nikki Hunt series by Stacy Green. This time, Nikki, can't escape the personal ties to a Minnesota murder investigation she been brought in to investigate. This crime will upend Nikki's world in ways she never thought possible when she became an FBI agent.

Book 3 gives the reader a greater glimpse into Nikki's youth, her friends and parents. We see her relationship with Rory deepen, and Nikki lets down the guard on her emotions. The perpetrator is caught in the end but tragically so many other things happen that you'll be heartbroken.

I look forward to furthering the story of this special agent and her relationship with Rory. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the complimentary copy.

A dead body is found frozen in a remote location and Nikki recognises her as a childhood friend. There is also a velvet ribbon in her hair and it seems that Frost is busy yet again. Frost is a methodical killer whom Nikki has been chasing for a long time but now it has turned very personal. It gets even more so though......

Great book, good, solid police procedural.

4.5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

Uffda, what a ride that was! (was that Minnesotan enough?) ❄️

Nikki Hunt is back…and so is the serial killer known as Frost (dun dun dun!).

While police procedurals sometimes tend to get a bit dialogue-heavy, Green’s ability to write natural and believable dialogue really kept me engaged! I was on the edge of seat by the end!

And these characters! Gah! I’m really growing to love all the characters in this series!

I already can’t wait for book 4! 👏 Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the gifted eARC!

This is my first Stacy Green book and the first one that I have read from the series. I don’t feel like I really missed out on anything except for some of the backstory but I will be reading the previous two books because I am intrigued to know how it all started. There were so many fantastic characters in this book and one of my favourite was definitely Rory because he my made heart swoon. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Nikki and her team. I was surprised at the identity of Frost and I think that it was a great twist. There was also another twist that I never saw coming whatsoever and it totally blew my mind. This was a brilliant book and I can’t wait to find out what happens to Nikki next.
