No no no! This story doesn’t let you take a breath before the next twist. Nikki is so guilt ridden, she’s not thinking clear. The end had me in tears. I don’t know how Nikki is going to get on with her life/ work after this case. Highly recommended series!

I received a free electronic ARC of this novel from Netgalley, Stacy Green, and Bookouture. Thank you all for sharing your hard work with me. I have read Lost Angels of my own volition, and this review reflects my honest opinion of this work. I can gladly add Stacy green to my authors being followed, and recommend her work to friends and family.

"Lost Angels" is the third of a series (Nikki Hunt #3) but it is completely stand-alone. I want to read the previous works because I like Stacy Green's style and enjoyed the location of these stories. Seated around the massive national parks on the borderland between Canada and the US, I fell in love with the idea of this place while reading a Nevada Barr novel years ago, and added it to my bucket list to be explored one nice hot summertime.

Unfortunately for our warm, compassionate protagonists, this tale takes place in the very early spring, just as the ice begins to think about breaking up on all that lovely water. Added to the challenge Mother Nature offers, Nikki and her family are subject to the whims of a serial killer, one from way back in the day. Add in the unstable weather and very hidden family secrets and you have a perfect storm.

A serial killer strikes close to home for Special Agent Nikki Hunt in Lost Angels (Nikki Hunt Book 3) by Stacy Green. Not only is this case tied to a childhood friend who has been killed but also to Nikki’s own family’s past. How this character can stay so focused on the case is a testimony to the many who work in real law enforcement.

While not overly graphic still not for the faint of heart, Stacy Green’s books are always realistic which makes them that much more scary. The support team gives both comfort and belief that this case will be solved especially when a second woman goes missing while they are there. With a deeply complex plat and caring, capable characters this is one book that is hard to put down.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"In three words I can sum up everything I learned about life: it goes on." - Robert Frost

The Nikki Hunt series is still going on and if you haven't started it yet - get to it! Stacy Green hooked me from page one of The Girls in the Snow and I am still hooked!

Special Agent Nikki Hunt is called out to the Boundary Waters near Stillwater, Minnesota, where a woman's body has been found. All the bells and whistles go off for Nikki. The frozen body has a velvet ribbon tied in her hair - the hallmark of a serial killer (Frost) she has been hunting for years. What is even more shocking is that the victim is her childhood friend, Annmarie.

She knows she is too close to this, but she can't step down. Nikki has been hunting Frost for years. She is getting closer - she can feel it. As she further investigates Annmarie's killer, she is shocked at what she finds in Annmarie's apartment. Did Annmarie know her killer? Did she get too close? Then there is the photo Frost leaves in Annmarie's apartment which leaves Nikki reeling. Does she know Frost? Has the killer been in her life all along? Who is this sinister killer and why does he have that photo? What ties does he have to Nikki's family?

Hang on to your hats folks because this one is a doozy. Nikki has been hunting this killer for a long time, things are heating up, and as she gets closer so does the killer! This one kept me on my toes on the edge of my seat, desperately wanting more!!!!

Can this be read as a stand-alone? Yes, but don't - just don't! Go back to the beginning, get to know the characters, because this one is where things get real, and they get real fast. There is a lot at stake and emotions will be all over the place. Mine certainly were! Whew!

Another fast-paced. Heart pounding, gripping page turner by Green! She delivered and I can't wait to read the next book in the series! Seriously, this series is incredible and quickly became a favorite!

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lost Angels is an action-packed, adrenaline-fueled, roller coaster ride that will have you holding fast to your seat until the very last page. Once again our heroine Special Agent Nikki Hunt comes up against the diabolical serial killer nicknamed Frost. Except now he seems to be moving in closer to her home and family. His latest victim is her childhood best friend Ann Marie. And while she is investigating, the clues suggest that Frost knows something about her family's secret past. Is Nikki his ultimate target or does he simply like playing cat and mouse with her? What is his connection to Nikki and Stillwater? Will Nikki find Frost before he adds to his body count? Who is next on his list?

Although Lost Angels is the third book in the Nikki Hunt series I feel that new readers will get sucked right into the plot. There is an advantage to reading the other books though in that you have a better understanding of the dynamics between the characters that will allow you to see why Nikki was hesitant to react under different circumstances. Yes, her pride did get in the way but so did her regret over past errors. Don't get me wrong - Nikki Hunt is tough as steel. But Stacy Green reminds us that she is human too. Love her character and her team. I've gotten to the point where I jump as soon as I see books in this series. Looking forward to the next installment.

Nikki has been on a six year hunt for the serial killer Frost. There’s been a new murder, someone she knows, and her mind is spinning. She’s balancing her daughter, boyfriend, work and sanity; something needs to cut her some slack. I loved how quick this book reads, the clues are subtle until you get the near the end and they seem clear. Her circle of friends and colleagues is a tight group and really assist in her case. This is the third book in the series and I highly recommend reading them in order. There is an over arching storyline that’s personal to Nikki, although there are enough reminders throughout the story a new reader would not be confused. I was thrilled to receive an early copy and I’ve written this review voluntarily.

I usually rotate between historical fiction and some good twisty crime thrillers. Lost Angels is the third book in this series, and I would recommend all of them! If you like Law and Order, Women’s Murder Club, or just a badass single mom FBI agent tracking down serial killers, this series is for you 😃 They are fun, easy reads with suspense galore. I can’t wait until #4 comes out! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for gifting me a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Book 3 in the series and it's absolutely the best one yet.

So many twists to keep you reading late into the night (or early morning).

I guessed one part because of a conversation but there were still a few omg moments that totally caught me out.

A brilliant page turner that I didn't want to put down.

I'm so looking forward to the next one to find out what Nikki is challenged with next.

Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. This is the third book in the Nikki Hunt series but all 3 can be read as standalones.

This book follows the case of Frost. Nikki has been hunting Frost for 5 years. The previous two books did have little hints of the Frost case but if you haven’t read them everything you need to know is in this book.

Nikki is an excellent detective. She is smart and determined. No one give’s Nikki a harder time than herself. She has been through a hell of a lot in her life and she is one strong individual!

This case is action-packed. The pace rarely lets up from start to finish. I felt on edge for the whole book. I did guess some things but not everything and Stacey did a great job of drip-feeding information throughout the story.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one had something special about it. I’m not sure if its the more personal aspects of the case or that it was the crescendo to the Frost case that Nikki has been working on for so long but I enjoyed every single page of this book. I can’t wait for more from Nikki and her team.

As I pick up this book I’m wondering why I chose another crime novel, but as soon as I start reading, I remember why. I love this series and was excited to see this outing focuses on Frost and that he keeps inching closer to Nikki. And while I’ve enjoyed each of the books, this is my favorite of the bunch.

This was so fast paced. There was never a moment I wanted to put the book down. I like that Nikki is so strong but also vulnerable in this outing. She’s torn between her duty as an agent and protecting her family. We get to learn more about her childhood and what made her what she is today.

As with all good crime novels, this one has a great cast of characters. I like Tyler, her ex, and how well they work together for the good of their daughter, Rory, her current boyfriend, and how he tangles in with her past, her team and most of all her daughter. And without any spoilers, there were a few moments in the book that made me a little emotional.

Seriously, if you like crime novels, you need to pick up this book. While you can read this as a stand alone as the author does a good job of filling in any important details, this is a fantastic series. I can’t wait for the next book.

Mortal Danger Has Nikki In Its Sights

Ominously, the novel opens six years in the past when someone is watching Nikki, an FBI profiler, and her husband leaving their home in Quantico to move to Minnesota she will start a behavioral analysis unit. The timeline shifts to present day as Nikki is called to a murder scene in northern Minnesota where a woman’s body was found. Nikki and Liam, her partner, find the trifecta of evidence that indicates the young woman was killed by a serial killer, called Frost. Nikki has been trying to catch him for some time. Also, there are indications that uncharacteristically Frost may have been in a hurry. Then, Nikki recognizes the victim; she was her best friend in her youth. The novel proceeds from here.

The main storyline becomes more and more troubling for Nikki. Frost now seems to be playing with Nikki and her team. He stole an ATV equipped for snow and ice from the parents of his first victim for this murder. Nikki becomes more uneasy as an increasing number of connections directly to her keep being discovered. As each layer of the main storyline onion is revealed, the tension increases. My interest was captured, and my need to continue to read kept increasing.

The B-storyline in this novel centers mostly on Nikki. A significant portion of the background material is tied inextricably with the main storyline. The more traditional B-storyline methods as Nikki as a wife and as a mother are present. All major characters were fleshed out, and none were just one or two dimensional. The B-storyline contributed significantly to my reading enjoyment.

For aspect of a novel that can cause readers to stop reading, there are not any intimate scenes, and there is some rude language, but nothing vulgar. Violence is described after the fact, but the possible violence kept some tension all the way to the end. I believe that almost all readers will not find a problem reading this novel based upon these three aspects.

The largest plus for this novel was that I could not stop reading it even late into the night and had to read more when I woke up in the morning. This is the major criteria for a high star rating. Another positive was that I only had read the first book in the series and did not feel at all that I had missed anything, but I would suggest not reading this third in the series first. All the questions I had will reading were answered by the end of the novel. Lastly, to be honest, I did not find any aspect of this novel that I did not like. Based upon above, I rate this novel with five stars.

If you enjoying reading this author as and this series as I do, make sure that you read her short paragraph after the end of the novel. I can’t wait, but I guess that I will have to wait.

I received a free e-book version of this novel through NetGalley from Bookouture. My review is based only by my own reading experience of this book. I wish to thank Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this novel early.

New author for me but it seems that the Nikki Hunt series will be on my list to read. Got this one from #Netgalley and in fact it gets released tomorrow (August 27, 2021) and I will be purchasing the first two of the series.

I love detective stories and this one follow Nikki Hunt and although I didnt read the first two, I did follow it anyway. Hunt is called to a crime scene and finds it is her childhood friend, Annmarie. With the way she is murdered it showed that this was done by a serial killer Nikki has been hunting for. And so we follow her on her quest to catch this one.

Quick moving and a page turner. Make sure its on your TBR list today! #fourstars #Netgalley

Lost Angels by Stacy Green is the 3rd book in the Nikki Hunt mystery series, and another great addition. Nikki Hunt is a special agent with the FBI who has returned to her home town of Stillwater Minnesota. Nikki left Stillwater twenty years ago after her family was murdered. When a body is found next to a lake, Nikki is upset, the victim is her childhood friend Annmarie. After checking out Annmarie home, they discovered she has been looking into women who have been murdered locally. Nikki is determined to find this serial killer, but she is concerned about her daughters' safety. Wow, I really enjoyed this book! There are so many twists and turns that kept me reading. I can't wait for the next book. I highly recommend this book and book one, if you enjoy a thrilling mystery.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another exciting, fast paced mystery in an engaging series. Nikki is back and it's time to put an end to Frost's reign of terror. I don't want to spoil anything so I am going to say this one will leave you with your jaw dropped. Full of twists and revelations. Action packed and the suspense is high. The way it ended was something I didn't see coming. There are pieces of Nikki and Rory which I loved. Fans will really enjoy this one. And the small what's next at the end had me wanting the next story now!

4.5 stars

Lost Angels by Stacy Green is the third in the FBI Agent Nikki Hunt series.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Series Background: (Warning – May contain spoilers from previous books)
Nikki Hunt is an FBI Agent whose parents were murdered when she was young. She helped put away Mark Todd for their murder, but 20 years later, discovered he was innocent, and fought for his release. She is now dating Rory, Mark's younger brother. Family dynamics are awkward. She has a young daughter (Lacey), and an ex-husband (Tyler) who still loves her. Nikki heads the BAU unit based out of St. Paul Minnesota. Her team consists of Crime Scene Analyst Courtney Hart and Agent Liam Wilson.

Synopsis: (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
Nikki has been tracking a serial killer that they call "Frost" for over 5 years. There have been 5 dead bodies. Now, a 6th body has been found that appears to be Frost's handiwork. Unfortunately, Nikki knows the victim. Annmarie had been a childhood friend.

Nikki pores her heart into the case, while her team-members try to make sure she doesn't jeopardize their hopes of nailing this killer. As Nikki continues to investigate, she finds a photo of her own mother in Annmarie's home, one that had not been there the day before when the team searched it. Nikki starts to realize that this killer is part of her own past. She will have to look into her own family history to find Frost, before he finds her, or those she loves.

My Opinions:
WOW. Okay, I was impressed with the first two books, but this one topped those.

This book showed Nikki that perhaps her pride was holding her back, which I think makes her character more endearing, more life-like.

The characters in these books have depth. Their actions make me care about them. I simply love the relationships between Nikki and her daughter, Nikki and Rory, Nikki and her team. I really like Caitlin, who has become one of the team. Now, I'm not usually a fan of children in books, but Lacey is wonderful.

The plot was compelling, and although I had an idea about the motive (which proved correct), it was a great journey.

I only found one problem, and that was with reference to former Sheriff Hardin. First it read that he fell and broke his hip, but when Nikki visited, his knee was bandaged, and that's what she asked about. Hopefully the editors will correct that before it is published.

This book was another fast and easy read in the series, and I didn't want to put it down.

Looking forward to the next book in this series!

Lost Angels, the third in the Nikki Hunt series is quite simply, edge of your seat superb!

In my opinion, it's always the mark of a good book when your kindle hits you on the face as you fall asleep reading! I didn't want to put this book down.

As you might expect from a crime thriller, there are lots of plot twists for Nikki and her team to unravel.

In this book, I saw a more sensitive side to Nikki albeit she was still relentless in her bid to catch Frost.

Her relationship with her team and other secondary characters were more developed and she showed her ability to compartmentalise the things going on in her life and job.

I love the relationship she has with Lacey and her ex-husband, who both have their daughter's happiness at the centre of their world.

I can't wait to see what the next Nikki Hunt book serves up.
