The minute I read the synopsis for this book I was hooked and I knew I could anticipate a heartwarming, emotional read full of love, laughter, and some bittersweet moments. And Sarah Echavarre did not disappoint me.

Three More Months was like rewinding the clock. I couldn't help but think of my own family members I'd lost and wish I'd had more time with. I related a lot to Chloe. A bit of a workaholic who doesn't really get to spend much time with family, not because they're not there but because I just don't make the time. Even though I could.

Going through this journey with Chloe of getting to have that time back with her mom was emotional and also really satisfying. It reminds you that life isn't forever. We all have to say goodbye someday and there's nothing we can do to avoid that inevitability. The only thing that we CAN do is make use of the time we do have. Appreciate the people in your life, tell them how much you love them.

The prose and storytelling style might come off as a bit long-winded to some, but I personally enjoyed that for this type of book. Sarah took the time to explain and drive home the emotions and thoughts Chloe was having while also taking the time to touch on the implications of Chloe's choices, all while still developing Chloe's changing personality and mindset.

This book gave me a lot of feelings I haven't finished processing yet but I think that comes with the territory of writing about death and loss. In many ways this book has shifted my outlook on life and relationships with the people around me and I'm very appreciative for that.

This was a great book. I don't think I'll ever forget reading it.

“I like to tell my clients that they should have three people they can call at any time, no matter the day, and they know that person will be there for them emotionally. A ‘no matter what’ person. Who are your three?”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Chloe is a typical workaholic. She works first, everything else comes second, including her family. One day she agrees to go home and see her mum for the weekend, but unfortunately she passes away before that weekend even comes around… She didn’t get to say goodbye… Two days before the funeral, Chloe wakes up and finds that time has gone backwards (or similar - maybe an alternate universe), and she begins counting down the clock, in a race against time to save her mum…

I have really conflicting views on this. I thought the idea behind the book was great, that Chloe had an extra 3 months with her mum to do the things she never got to do before… But I felt like there was too much of the book focusing on Chloe feeling guilty for this or that, or this again, or even trying to work out an explanation for what was happening.

Obviously we would never be in that situation ourselves. But if you were, would you try to save them from dying? Or, would you spend every single moment making fond memories? I guess I just didn’t click with Chloe as a character, because I just didn’t agree with how she went about her extra time.

But I think it’s a great, different read. I would say it would be really difficult to read if you’d had a big loss recently, but it’s also quite life-affirming.

This is a heart felt journey with Chloe Howard and her family.
Chloe is a pharmacist who is climbing the ladder of success in her job.
The sacrifice is that she has no spare time to spend with family or friends. She volunteers for extra shifts, more responsibility and covers for others.
It's going along just fine until--- Chloe's mom dies suddenly and there is no more time now or later. to get that last hug!
OR IS THERE?
What would any of us who miss loved ones give for another day or more to sit and chat, or go on adventure together?
This is just that! An unexplainable chance!
Is it real or a dream? Read this beautiful story and see for yourself!!
I had "goosebumps" at times and also was very emotional as I read this touching novel.
It is well done and I love all the characters in between these pages.
I truly believe that any reader will definitely enjoy this novel.

Workaholic Chloe finally plans a trip home but JUST misses her mom passing away. Days before the funeral though, Chloe finds her mom alive and they’ve gone back in time 3 months. Chloe sets off to do anything and everything to change the future and keep her mom with her and her brother. Through crazy water aerobics classes to healthy eating classes, Chloe is determined, even if it means getting in fights with her mom. Through chats with her therapist, she soon realizes that she’s been given extra time with her mom and to enjoy it. But there’s a nagging feeling that her extra time is running out.

With the holidays coming up, this story hit very close to home for me. The things I would do to have more time with loved ones. This story sort of reminded me too of Scotty McCreery’s song Five More Minutes which I absolutely love.

If you’re looking for a women’s fiction with a twist, be sure to check this out.

NetGalley ARC | Last night, I read an advanced NetGalley review copy of Sarah Echavarre's Three More Months. Sarah also writes under 'Sarah Smith.'

This will be an upcoming December 1, 2021 book release and also fits for the 2022 Uncorked Reading Challenge time travel theme – in an alternate universe kind of way.

Call your mom – which Chloe does, but she never spends enough time with her. Chloe places her career and financial stability above all else; it's what she has learned since childhood.

When Chloe's mother suddenly dies (that's not a spoiler), Chloe wishes she had more time… but what if she does? With three extra months, can Chloe change the future?

This family-themed novel set in Nebraska has content warnings for death and miscarriage.

It's well-written, poignant, and beautiful but also deeply intense.

Thank you to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for a free advanced copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
