After reading Roni Loren’s book, Yes & I Love You, I could not wait to read this one. It surely did not disappoint!

I apologize for the late review.

I gave this one a second shot and I'm glad I did!

I loved our characters, Andi and Hill, and their story. We watched both of them struggle with their own mental health issues and I really related to Andi. I loved reading this one. Roni Loren is becoming one of my favs!

A huge thank you to Net Galley and the author for providing me a copy the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was super cute! I didn't read the first one but that didn't matter. I will probably give it a chance since I Finally got this one over and done.

I have never read this author before and I really liked her writing style... and the steam! I can't get enough. I will be checking her out for new releases.

This was a sweet but predictable story. The characters were both struggling with their own insecurities and mental health struggles, which made it easily relatable. It was fun, but not quite as good as the first installment from Roni Loren in my opinion.

This is the follow-up to Yes & I Love You, which I read last year. Like other recent romance series, this one doesn't follow the same main characters from book to book. Rather, a side character from one book becomes the main focus of the next book. In this story, we meet Andi, who suffers from anxiety, which was mostly caused by a bad relationship with a man in her past. She's been feeling a lot better these days as she works hard on her career as a horror novelist. And then she meets her new neighbor, Hill. Hill is a former firefighter who had to leave his job after an injury and now he is trying to piece his life back together.

And guess what? the two form a connection and work through their issues together. This was a cute, sweet story with some hot moments. it was a little deeper than some romance stories since it deals with people overcoming mental and physical health issues.

I listened to the audiobook which was a fun listen.

I have not read Yes & I Love You so I can attest that it is not necessary to have read the first book in this series. I loved Andi and Hill's characters. It was so refreshing to see characters who have to deal with past traumas and a life-changing injury. My one complaint is how anti-climactic the climax was which kept this from being a higher rating. That being said, I still couldn't put it down and plan to read other books in the series.

Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-arc.

I really enjoy this series by Roni Loren so far - they are good love stories with characters who are dealing with real-life problems. Great characters, witty banter, well-written, and well done audiobook with a good narrator.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for my copy of the audiobook for What If You & Me in exchange for my honest review.

I really liked the first book in the series, but I LOVED this one! I couldn't get enough of Hill and Andi.

Here's a few of the things I loved about it:
- it felt so ORIGINAL!!!
- forced proximity
- the development from neighbors to friends to lovers had a perfect time frame/natural speed, it didn't feel rushed and I was in giddy anticipation in several scenes! It was a SLOW BURN done right.
- Roni Loren dealt with the characters Trauma in such a gentle and beautiful way.

The narration by Desiree Ketchum was phenomenal and I will look for more books read by her for future listening. The book is 9 hours and 17 minutes long and I was able to easily speed it up to 2x. I listened to it all in one day, once I started I just couldn't stop!

I’ve been impatiently waiting for this series to come out, as I do with any Roni Loren book. When we met Andi in the first book I knew she was going to be such an interesting character to know more about. I couldn’t wait to get to her backstory. WHAT IF YOU & ME delivered!

This is a neighbors to lovers story and as with the previous book, Ms. Loren tackles mental health and disability. Andi has anxiety and with good reason due to what’s happened in her past. Her sexy neighbor Hill is a former firefighter who lost part of this leg in a rescue and is now trying to figure out what to do with his life.

Andi and Hill have chemistry and some great banter that will keep you engaged. This book was funny and flirty while also having a lot of character development and depth. This is one of my favorite things about Roni Loren’s books and she delivers every time. Yes, this is a romance, but in this short amount of pages you get to fall completely in love with these characters and understand everything that makes them tick, everything that makes them hurt. And you just want to see them happy. Even grumpy Hill.

Getting to know both of them through the friendship that develops between them was just perfect. For two people that have gone through so much, I think this was the only way to give them the time needed to connect and allow someone else into their world. And in the end, the fact they were both able to deal with their issues individually as well as coming together as a couple really makes me feel they will be in it for the long haul.

Pick this up when you’re ready for a slow burn romance that gives you angst in the way that only Roni Loren can do. And get ready to fall in love with your next book boyfriend.

Roni Loren is quickly becoming an auto-buy author for me. I loved the characters and how the author discusses important topics in a story without it ever becoming the character's definition.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

I just couldn’t do it. Too much sex for me. I know that some people like that, but I am not one of those people. Thanks for the ALC though!

I loved this book so much! I knew I was going. To love it, as I loved the other book by this author. I was so excited for this one. Right from the start I was hooked and didn’t want to put it down. The audio was amazing. I highly recommend checking it out!

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5

I loved this book!

While I enjoyed the first book in this series, I loved this one.

Andi had something pretty traumatic happen to her when she was young and it’s kept her from forming any romantic relationships. Hill is a former firefighter who was injured on the job. He still has trouble sleeping because of the incident. He also feels like no woman will want him because of his disability.

I devoured this audiobook. Once again, Desiree Ketchum does a great job with her performance of the audiobook. Her voice is pleasant and easy to listen to. She has pretty distinctive voices for each of the characters.

This story is a bit more intense than the first book due to what happened to both MCs in the past. There’s also a bit of a mystery with what is going on in Andi’s life. I really felt the connection between Andi and Hill. Hill is so supportive of Andi and so patient with her. The sexy time between them is beautiful and intense at times.

You can definitely read this book as a standalone. Characters from book one do appear but you don’t really need to know their story to enjoy this one.

A review copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion or rating of the book.

Confession...I already knew I liked this story. I read it a couple months back! But I love to listen to stories I've already read, and this one delivered on the all the feels and all the entertainment.

Once again (as with the first audiobook in the series), the narrator takes a little time to settle into the part. The narrating part some a little stiff at the beginning but warms up as the story progresses. Her strength is the dialog, which makes the story come to life and the characters seem real.

I hope there are many more stories in this series. With so many people sharing the workspace at WorkAround, there's SO many more stories to be told!

I didn’t think it was possible, but I loved this book as much if not more than the first book in this series. Thank you @emmylovesbooks for singing its praises and convincing me I needed to listen to them. This feels like the perfect romance book for any of your friends who are obsessed with murder/mystery podcats/true crime etc. Andi is a ‘famous’ murder podcast gal, with some serious baggage from a previous assault, and Hill is a firefighter who lost his leg on the job. I adored both Hill and Andi. Hill gave me all of the Kelly Severide and Matt Casey Chicago Fire vibes, and was the perfect leading man. I wouldn’t exactly call it an enemies to lovers romance, but Hill and Andi very much get off on the wrong foot as neighbors. I really enjoyed watching their friendship develop and them trying to fight their obvious chemistry and work through all of their emotional issues. Much like the first book in this series, I was addicted as soon as I started, and couldn’t stop listening.

Title: What If You & Me
Author: Roni Loren
Read by: Desiree Ketchum
Publisher: Dreamscape Media, LLC
Length: Approximately 7 hours and 48 minutes
Source: Review Copy from Netgalley. Missing first two chapters so then purchased from Audible.

What if fear of the world can turn to trust and love?

Andi Lockley has a mysterious past traumatic event in her teenage years that has made her distrustful of the world and of relationships. She meets her new neighbor, Hill Dawson after he barges in thinking she is being assaulted when he hears the screams from the horror movie she is watching. They meet again when Andi runs over to his place after finding her back door open during another horror movie-a-thon. Andi is a horror novel writer and Hill is a retired firefighter. Hill has trauma in his own past as he lost first part of his leg while rescuing people from a fire, and then his fiancée when she cheated on him with his best friend. Will these two seemingly very different people find love and a way to move forward in life?

I LOVED this novel. I really loved how the two main characters had very different trauma in their life and were able to work through it to build a trusting relationship together. I also loved how this novel brough in elements of suspense as well. This novel does have open door romance in it, but it did not go overboard. I didn’t realize this was the second book in a series until I was well into it. It stands on its own, but I do want to go back and read the first book.

What If You & Me is the August selection of the Brenda Novak Book Group. I listened to the meeting a day later on Friday, and it was a great interview with author Roni Loren. My question was asked about whether Loren was a horror fan herself and what were her favorites. It turns out she read a lot of the same books that I read as a preteen / teen – RL Stine, Christopher Pike, etc. She then turned to a love of classic horror. I am not much of a horror movie fan myself, but I enjoyed Andi’s passion for them in this novel. This book group meeting is still up on Brenda Novak’s Facebook page if you would like to listen.

I downloaded this audiobook from Netgalley for review, but it was unfortunately missing the first two chapters, so I bought it from audible. Desiree Ketchum was a delightful narrator.

Overall, I loved this romance and want to read more from author Roni Loren.

What If You & Me is the second book in the Say Everything series by Roni Loren. I had not read the previous book (but I definitely will be!) and I found it to be easy to read as a standalone romance.

I absolutely loved this book! I think this was my favorite book that I read in August! The story was incredible! I loved the characters and found them to be fascinating! I loved the message of hope after trauma. This book really spoke to me in that way! I loved how the characters overcame their struggles! This really was an inspiring book!

The narration by Desiree Ketchum was amazing! I felt like I was part of the story because of her narration! She really brought the story to life!

I definitely recommend this book to romance and women's fiction fans! This is an incredible read!

This is the second book I’ve read by Roni Loren, and it’s nice she integrates the characters from her first book in parts. This is adult romance. She has a unique way of writing that isn’t the “same oh” as many. A new fresh twist to romance and life challenges. In this book, we have two broken people, Andi who has a blog on true crime and writes books that help describe the horror and what to learn from it. She has a past that led her to a life of anxiety and fear of relationships. She worries about her safety, but is getting better.. She enjoys horror movies and draws information from them. A story of two people learning how to get past what life has dealt them and learn to trust again.
Hill, is a former firefighter who is suffering from depression after a fire accident ended his career. He’s lost and paces the night away, next door to Andi who is bothered by his constant thumping at night.
When they clash but then try to help each other maybe just maybe they both can move on. The process of experimentation is steamy and a full description so be aware.
I enjoyed the book I just think it can be told with less steamy detail but that’s just my preference, others may appreciate romance with erotica. Thanks to the publishers, NetGalley and Roni Loren for allowing me to listen to the audio, it’s very well narrated by Desiree Ketchum. This is my opinion,

Prior to getting to my review, I think it’s important to mention this is my first adventure into audiobooks on NetGalley and I’ll be definitely requesting more! I love this “new” way to consume books that’s growing in popularity! I l think audiobooks are a fantastic way to keep reading even when life continues to happen. Trust me, I love curling up, reading a book, and pressing pause on life, but life can be busy and audiobooks allow me the ability to multi-task. My latest favorite pairing is an audiobook while I cook. I find it so soothing.

Listening to What If You & Me by Roni Loren was enjoyable. I enjoyed the narrator Desiree Ketchum and I feel the need to give listeners a heads up that they will likely want to use headphones! There are some rather descriptive sex scenes and I would hate for anyone to find themselves blushing listening aloud.

The plot is interesting and the characters are lots of fun. I like books that make me react and I found myself having reactions to this one.

I would recommend reading Roni Loren’s previous novel prior to delving into this one!
