Is it ever wrong to love someone? Noah's loved Kate since long before she married his best friend. Now a widow, she hasn't seen Noah for years--and she still blames him for her husband's death. This is a sweet, clean romance. I thoroughly enjoyed Kate and Noah's story, the ranch life, and the struggles. The plot and characters were well-developed and the storyworld was realistically portrayed. I'll definitely look for more by this author.

Nice friendship story that becomes a romance for several couples in the small farming community. The main story centers on Noah. He had escaped ranching to own a company in New York. Home for a visit he is pushed back into running the ranch while his siblings vacation. His old love is still living on the ranch next door. She and her son become main characters in this escape read. A good story I enjoyed.

A Cowboy's Homecoming is a sweet, heartwarming love story which deals with family and relationship dynamics, grief, raising a gifted child, finding a balance between family expectations and one's own desires and many others.

When we first meet Noah Bodine, he is coming back home after having missed his sister Willow's wedding, while Kate is anxious to get home to her four year old son Teddie. An unexpected blizzard blocks roads and there isn't anyone to meet Kate. Noah offers to give Kate a lift knowing that Kate holds him indirectly responsible for her husband's death. If you love enemies-to-lovers trope, you are going to enjoy the way these two characters manage to find their way to open up to each other. Kate is still grieving and cannot imagine ever leaving her family ranch, something Noah did many years ago after a particularly heated argument with his strong-willed father. He has built a successful business from scratch and doesn't see himself as a cowboy any more. Yet, when he has to step in and take care of the ranch until his siblings come back, Noah doesn't hesitate-he'll whatever is necessary to help his family. Kate is his neighbour, so it is clear that these two are going to run into each other sooner or later. Teddie, Kate's adorable little boy, and Noah immediately take to each other, although Kate is much more guarded. Will Noah stay for a longer time or will his presence in Kate and Teddie's lives be a transient moment?

I got drawn into the story straightaway and was very involved, especially in the first half (the second half was a bit too long and repetitive). There were interesting secondary characters and plotlines e.g. the story of Meg, Kate's aunt. Some characters from the previous books make their appearance adding to the atmosphere of a small town. Noah, Kate, Meg are all well-written and we learn not ony their backstory, but also what dilemmas they grapple with and what decisions they have to make, e.g. Kate knowsthat sooner or later she will have to decide whether to homeschool her gifted son or enter him into a special program, which would mean spending a lot of time driving him to the school in a different town.

This was my first book from Leigh Riker's Kansas Cowboys series, but I enjoyed it so much that I would love to go back and read the previous story Mistletoe Cowboy, which is about Noah's sister Willow.

An enjoyable book, recommended to any reader who appreciates clean, wholesome romance, enemies-to-lovers and single mother/father finds a new life partner tropes.

A Cowboy’s Homecoming is the ninth story in the Kansas Cowboys series, and I’ll confess that I have not read all of the previous books in this series… and the reason for that declaration is the fact that I wasn’t the least bit lost with a story so far into the series. That said a lot (to me) about the author’s ability to draw the reader into her world and have them want to stay. And now I believe I need to go back and slowly get caught up on this series because my curiosity to know what came before Noah’s and Kate’s romance is now fully engaged.

I enjoy an enemies-to-lovers romance, especially when there is such intense passion beneath the surface. Noah and Kate have history but they’ll also begin a healing process that they both badly need in order to move forward… to their own happy ending, well, at least if Kate’s son has his way. I adored little Teddie, and he ended up being quite the scene-stealer for me during A Cowboy’s Homecoming.

Noah’s reluctant return home from the familiar corporate world will eventually heal wounds that have long held a tight grip on Noah. This cowboy needs to remember his roots, and being home and tending to the ranch is exactly what he needs – even if he doesn’t see that at first. As his neighbor, Kate will reluctantly help him with the ranch but it comes at an emotional cost as she does still harbor anger in her belief that Noah caused her husband’s death. Watching this couple, and one adorable little tyke, heal the past, embrace the present, and become a family was an enjoyable, emotional journey from start to finish. A Cowboy’s Homecoming turned out to be just what I needed – an emotional story, believable characters, and a new-to-me author to get caught up with her backlist. If you simply love a really good love story from the heart, then Kate and Noah deliver that and so much more.
