Unfortunately I was unable to make it through even the first chapter of this book. I hope it finds its audience, but that's certainly not me.

Exactly my type of book - archaeologists, a dig at Mount Sinai in Egypt plus quantum computing and a sci-fi twist. Lots of action and a quick read ...

Such a good book! I am very interested in the Ark of the Covenant and most things covered within the Bible from both a faith perspective and an archaeological perspective. This book as great characters, good story, keeps you interested even if this isn't normally your cup of tea.

I read "The Conspiracy" 1 and 2, so when I saw another book out by this wonderful author I had to dive in. This book took turns I wasn't expecting and thoroughly enjoyed. I will be eagerly waiting for the next one!

Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First off this is a book full of action from start to finish that will have you speeding to the end.
I have mixed feelings about this book, that for me felt like there were several storylines going on at the same time with very little connection till the end. I think that a sequel would definitely help tie the characters and events together as at times it can be a little confusing.
I came into this looking for a book heavy in Archaeology not expecting the Sci-Fi portion, so I guess it just threw me and I need more answers to what exactly is happening and why.
I will keep an eye out for a following book if and when it comes out.

A thriller in the time of coronavirus about high-tech technology and ancient Egyptian history. Two archaeology projects in Southern Sinai, Egypt, and Tara, Ireland. An Advanced Military project stationed at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado.
Rachel is an archaeologist in Southern Sinai, the wrong place, in earthquake time! She was buried alive and find some evidence, an ancient Jewish mine, poisoning source.
Devlin Lang is military engineering who searching for the Ark of the Covenant in Ireland. He needs Rachel to read Hebrew writing has found. On the other hand, something went wrong in his ex-project, the failure zone is growing.

Three stories in different places fast-paced through along. It seems like I find a new series to continue reading!
Thanks to BooksGoSocial and Netgalley, I have given an honest review of The Time Has Come by Laurence O'Bryan.

4 stars. A romp of an archaeological/modern tech thriller reminiscent of Clive Cussler. Good characters. I've never read this author's work before and this particular offering feels like the first in a series. If so, I hope I get to read the next ones too.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced copy to read and review. My opinions are my own and not influenced by anyone. Ever.

I finished this book last night and even this morning I'm still pondering it. It was a quick read set in four locations: Sinai; Ireland: Cheyenne Mountains and online.

It has left me somewhat baffled as to storyline. I understand the Sinai and Ireland scenes - am actually fascinated by theories of where the Lost Ark may be found. The Cheyenne Mountains scene is where it all went a bit over my head - I understood in a matter of speaking of how it was linked to Sinai and Ireland, but the technical jargon and theory of what was taking place there went way over my head. The online portions tie up nicely with the Cheyenne mountain scene and are, in my opinion, a true reflection of some online evangelists.

Overall I found the writing very good, it was fast paced - moving between all four locations easily. I think that this story as it stands is part of an introduction to more in a series as I felt ends were not wrapped up nor sorted out by the end. I think I would be intrigued by what would happen next.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me the chance to read this book.

This fascinating novel terrified me! Not only are there multiple daily natural disasters clearly triggered by tragically escalating climate change; here also are horrifying implacable dangers caused by,  yes, Science! Quantum Engineering experimentation--without sufficient oversight! The "Mouth of Hell," indeed,  as one outspoken television Evangelist terms it!

Combining Biblical Archaeology (in the Middle East's Sinai and at Tara in Ireland) with Quantum Engineering,  Algorithms which predict Disease Venues in advance,  and set in a time just ahead of contemporary, the events here are terrifyingly plausible.

Intense archeological thriller with an interesting mix of technology and history - Indiana Jones meets quantum physics! A fun romp - will be interesting to see how the stories continues.

I really don't like books that just stops in the middle. And this one stopped suddenly. So irritating. The story is interesting and I can see how the pieces will fit together. But to find out what happens does require buying the next book in the series. My rating is just okay due to the unfinished story.

The book felt like a combination of roughly unrelated short stories.
Every third chapter goes to a description of a video feed. I don't see what the purpose of that is.
The book feels like it's a collection of notes waiting to be developed.
I'm really underwhelmed by the execution. The premise is interesting, but that's about it.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

The rythme of suspens will make happy any reader and I just cannot wait for the second book of the series.
We feel in the hands of an experimented writer who knows how to lead the story, make the characters alive, and slowly build an incredibly interesting story.
A must read !
i received a copy from NetGalley, all opinions are mine.

This is an interesting book! While I didn’t feel the need to abandon it, I did find the plots disjointed. Three stories were going on, the announcement of an architectural discovery in Egypt, an architectural dig searching for the Ark of the Covenant in Ireland, and a military accident in America causing a world apocalyptic event. Neither story was adequately developed. Two of the three stories had a common character and another two had a different common character. The only commonality to the three stories is that they were all subject to the global environmental hazards caused by a US Military experiment gone wrong.

I see this book as the start of a series. But, while it kept me interested enough to keep reading, I don’t see myself picking up a sequel in the future.

O'Bryan's book will keep you at the end of your chair until you finish it. It's a well written thriller and my only regret was that the book was not longer.

This is an interesting novel about events today and those possible in the near future. It features two main characters, their lives intersecting in a suspenseful search for the Ark of the Covenant. There is an emphasis on the many volcanoes and earthquakes happening today and suspense from experiencing them. There is also a world destroying potential when an advanced science experiment goes wrong.

O'Bryan writes the adventures of Rachel and Devlin from their first person points of view. When neither one is present, it is from a narrator's point of view. I found that writing style a little confusing. O'Bryan does identify each chapter's location so readers know which character's experiences are being represented. I still found that writing style less satisfying than having the entire novel from a narrator's point of view. The Epilogue was written as from a narrator, when both Rachel and Devlin were together, showing the difficulty of the first person technique when two are present.

I like to learn something when I read a novel and in this case it included a legend about the biblical character Jeremiah. I had no idea there was a legend that Jeremiah took the Ark of the Covenant to Ireland after the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem. O'Bryan also includes links to explain the advanced physics mentioned, such as the Casimir force and time dilation.

The novel does have some plot defects, such as a sudden and unidentified fix to a potential disaster after repeated and suspenseful earlier attempts had failed. Also, O'Bryan took great liberty in emphasizing the volcanoes and earthquakes. He mentions the eruption of Mt. St. Helens as if it is a current event when it happened 40 years ago. I also felt the main issues in the novel were not resolved sufficiently, perhaps an indication of a sequel.

This is an entertaining novel about current events possibly marking the end times.

Devlin Lang, a brilliant app developer, is wanted by the US military to fix an quantum experiment in Colorado that has gone out of control, creating a time warp. At the same time, he’s funding an archeological dig in Ireland, looking for the Ark of the Covenant. At the same time,
Rachel Davis, a troubled archaeologist, is digging in Mount Sinai where the Ark may also lie. She’s buried alive during a earthquake at that dig. After her rescue, she’s whisked off to Ireland to translate an engraving in ancient Hebrew.

This is a fast-moving thriller with lots of research and nice references to quantum physics. The chapters rotate between three points of view, are short, and pull the read right along. However, it is written in present tense which I found irritating as I tend to associate that with young adult novels and chick lit. The Time Has Come was okay, but I doubt I’d read other books by this author.
