Witty, Feel Good Romp…
Witty, feel good romp with life swap theme which works well for enjoyable, entertaining and escapist reading. Nicely written with a fun storyline and a colourful cast of characters.

Sally Marshall is one in a hundred, Epiphanie is one of a kind.

Sally is just an ordinary woman, but Epiphanie is extraordinary.

Sally is a tribute artist, one of many - but Epiphane is the real thing.

But Sallys normality is shattered when Epiphanie magically appears at her kitchen table and asks her to trade places for a few weeks - just like in the movies. Overnight, Sally has become a global star and Epiphanie is playing in small pubs and drinking with the locals. Sally has spent so long pretending to be someone else and now she has the chance to really BE her will it be everthing she hoped? Or will she find they might not be that different after all...

I'm a sucker for a classic life-swap, but they are definitely starting to feel stale and overdone so I was a little dubious going into this - but Beth Miller has taken something standard and made it SPARKLE. She managed to take all the typical tropes of a genre and turn into something gloriously binge-worthy.

Sally was a hilarious narrator; scatter-brained and utterly bonkers at times but so easy to love almost instantly. Witty, silly, and full of compassion - she was a pleasure to read about. The whole cast of characters were stunning - from Sallys husband and band mate back home to Epiphanies eccentric entourage.

Super easy to read and addictively sassy, this was definitely more that it looks like on the very pretty cover - talking about real human connection, about hope, about family and about real self-reflection. Just like people, this isn't one you should judge by the cover.

I read this entire book in one sitting, and anyone looking for a laugh-out-loud adventure full of heart, this is for you.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I loved this look at the inside of stardom in this rock star wanna be fantasy. Beth Miller writes characters that are like people you know, so you can really feel sympathy for their situations, even while laughing out loud at their predicaments. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.

DNF at 6%
the protagonist is very annoying. it's like she's trying so hard to be sassy and sarcastic but she's actually failing. I probably should have read some more before DNFing it, but I'm not in the mood right now.

The biggest star in the world offers large sums of money to Sally, a tribute artist who has been impersonating her on stage for many years. All Sally has to do is swap places with her for two weeks.

The story is told with wit and compassion. The novel is a feel-good romp with well-developed characters and plenty of twists and turns.

Starstruck is a perfect 'lose yourself in its pages' holiday read.

Told from the point of view of an impersonator - Sally Marshall who impersonates Epiphanie (who is bigger than Beyonce.) Sally arrives home one day and finds the superstar in her kitchen with an offer that no one could turn down - swap places with each other. The story takes place over a few weeks and we find the life swap continuing for longer than Sally wishes.

It's fun, well written and at times it makes you laugh out loud.

For many years Sally has worshipped Epiphanie. A world class superstar, Epiphanie's life is a million miles away from Sally's life in England entertaining small crowds as a Epiphanie tribute act. One evening Sally comes home to find the worldwide celebrity in her kitchen and offering a life-changing sum of money to swap places for a short period of time. Ephiphanie can do the local pub gigs while Sally gets to perform at Madison Square Gardens. The whole concept of this novel is brilliantly ridiculous and makes for such a fun book. A delightfully light read and perfect escapism.

It is interesting to realize that when your career depends upon the impersonation of someone else, that you can lose whom you are and what you want. Sally hero worshipped Epiphanie and thought she had it all but once she stepped in her shoes, soon realized how lonely her life actually was. Those who surrounded her were on her payroll, she was distant from her children, her image was everything and she had refused to admit her true love for Dirnty. By stepping into Sally's shoes, she quickly realized how normal life could be as evidenced by the relationship between Paul and Sally. I was so glad that at the end, Sally was able to pursue her love of singing and songwriting as Sally.

I loved the Lizzie McGuire movie since I was little and was ecstatic to see something akin to that in the form of a book. I loved the story and the characters and felt that both were well rounded. The ending was satisfying and left me wanting more.
