Who doesn't love a rags to riches story? Throughout the book it was hard to see how Cassandra and Crispin would get their HEA with so many social and economic obstacles to overcome, however their love for each other remained enduring and it was beautiful to see it blossom. I love the dual perspective and vivid imagery featured in the book, and would recommend it to all romance enthusiasts.

This story screams forbidden love and childhood friends to lovers. Not only does it have that, but it's set in the classic Victorian Era.

Cassandra and Crispin have grown up together, he's the stable boy she never should've befriended. They're forced apart after their friendship is discovered, but what happens when they've grown and he comes back no longer the stable boy? Their relationship is once again rekindled, but there are obstacles to face.

I've never been one fond of the rich girl, poor boy trope, and this book isn't an exception. However, I still enjoyed it and am pleased with how this book turned out.

A gorgeous story set in Victorian times, the novel got me interested straight away and held my interest. I really enjoyed the novel, and would recommend it highly. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for giving me an advance copy of this book, the characters are very well drawn and I always appreciate that.
