Chloe Liese is a mother-effing gift to romance. Her Bergman Brothers series is hands down one of my all time favorites, and each new book feels like Christmas morning.

With You Forever is the fourth book. Axel, the eldest brother and talented yet isolated artist, has been in lust with Rooney since he first saw her. Rooney has been crushing hard on the brooding artist. In order to secure his inheritance and save his family’s cabin, she agrees to marry him—in name only. But what happens when you’re falling for your pseudo-spouse?!

Forced proximity. Marriage of convenience. Sunshine & the Grump. Liese checks all my favorite boxes.

I love the diversity represented throughout the Bergman Brothers series. With You Forever features an autistic hero and a heroine with IBD. Liese has a knack for breathing life into beautiful, complex, completely relatable characters. I will never not love the Bergman Brothers. And Axel and Rooney’s story may just be my favorite.

Chloe Liese always manages to write emotional romantic romances that make you feel as safe and loved as her characters do.

In this grumpy/sunshine arranged marriage romance we follow Axel and Rooney as they get married to claim an Inheritance money to help fix the well loved family cabin and how they have to learn to be around each other while being at their all time lows and dealing with their feelings for each other. This is a story about 2 people to whom romantic relationships never held any appeal and who nedd therapy and who are just so afraid of opening up but can't help themselves around each other.

I truly enjoyed their romance and those sweet and thoughtful moments that they shared. Seeing how safe thet felt with each other to be their true selves was such a sweet experience and it had me swooning. I loved how you could feel their amazement and confusion at finding someone who understood them and didn't demand they be different. From cooking lessons to just being near each other and communicating how they felt and what they wanted was very enjoyable.

I also liked them as characters. They both have their flaws and while completely different, they still manage to be there for each other and understand the other person. Them finding out they loved each other was so... Them, it was quiet and like it had been there all along.

As always, I love how chloe liese chooses to have main characters that are neurodivergent and or have physical disabilities. Highly recommend this book!

I LITERALLY CAN'T DEAL.

I read all 4 Bergman books this weekend and don't you dare make me pick one.
But this one. I have two people in my life with colitis/stomach problems so Rooney's life felt so spot on to what my loved one's experience.
Axel. You swoon worthy man.

If you don't pick these up YOU ARE WRONG.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 stars

Chloe Liese never fails to make me laugh, cry, and swoon. With You Forever is the fourth book in the Bergman Brothers series and is about two of my favorite characters - Axel and Rooney. There is the grumpxsunshine trope AND the marriage of convenience trope AND FALL VIBES. It is the dream.

When Chloe Liese referenced my all-time Lisa Kleypas hero, Tom Severin, as an inspiration for Axel, I knew he would be my favorite. I loved him. I. Loved. Him. His and Rooney’s romance was a perfectly paced slow-burn that Liese managed to make very realistic for a relationship that starts with a marriage. Both characters were well-written and the autism and chronic IBD representation was very well-done. I could not put the book down and, as with the previous three, immediately missed the amazing cast of characters when I sadly reached the story’s end.

With You Forever is a tender, cozy, and heartwarming love story between two extremely lovable characters.

(I am very excited for Oliver’s story, but Viggo…Viggo’s is going to own my heart.)

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review!

I will start by saying that I love Chloe Liese books. I love the simple but piercing affectivity of her writing. I love the depth and nuance of her characters. I love that she tells you what you need to know about people's different experiences without having it be an exposition dump. I love the Bergman family and the people who join it. This book did not disappoint.

The love story of Axel and Rooney is so gentle and beautiful. It will shatter you and make your heart literally ache with feelings and then put you back together and tuck you safely into bed with the utmost care. The awkwardness, the intimacy, the angst, the care, the (mis)communication, the slow burn, the joy of watching two people figure out how to love each other and be loved….this book is the very reason why I read romance. After the first read I already knew that it would jump to the top of my cozy comfort reads list, honestly, the PNW fall aesthetic is swoon-worthy in itself, and I so look forward to being able to curl up on a rainy day and lose myself in this love story again and again...siggghhhhhh :')

Lastly, I need to briefly talk about Viggo for a second because I love him so much (lover of romance books, a thoughtful and caring sibling, scattered/passionate about new tasks— this reads to me as potentially having adhd like me!) and I cannot wait for his book whenever it comes.

Anyway, PREORDER. THIS. BOOK. IMMEDIATELY. and then....buy a pine-scented candle and a plaid throw blanket, find a youtube channel that plays a log fire, and then prepare to have your heart warmed this September.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Between Frankie's rheumatoid arthritis and Rooney's IBD, Liese does an incredible job representing chronic illness. Axel and Rooney's love story is tender, hilarious, and oh so sweet. I loved the rural woodsy setting, the animals, and the mutual understanding and friendship our main characters develop over the course of the novel. I can't wait for Oliver's book next!

"Tomorrow I'll be brave. Tonight I need to be safe."

Sigh. Swoon. Sob...Chloe Liese has outdone herself this time. I didn't think I played favorites when it came to the Bergman fam, but I lied. Axel is my favorite.

I appreciate that Chloe always shows us that EVERYONE deserves to be loved and cherished. The neurodiverse, those who are chronically ill, those who are disabled and those who struggle...every single one of us.

And this love is so incredibly patient and kind and tender and warm and safe. It's quiet and sacrificial and abiding. The kind of love you just want to burrow into and absorb. It's delicious and respectful and it's everything.

5 stars.

I don’t think I can ever do justice to Chloe’s books. The stories she writes are so real and packed with nuanced characters and emotions. The Bergman Brother series has been so consistently AMAZING. The stories seem to be in a league of their own, and leave me chasing a feeling that 99% of books just cannot achieve.

Axel and Rooney carried the Bergman Brothers story forward beautifully. Axel is so sweet and kind. He’s showing his family love in the only way he knows how: by doing major repairs (in secret) to their beloved cabin. His uncle has left him a large inheritance, which he needs for the repairs, but can only access after he’s married. Happy-go-lucky Rooney just needs a break. With a chronic illness that makes life difficult and, at times, embarrassing, she just needs a safe place to rest and heal and maybe let her happy face drop once in a while. She needs time and space to figure out what she wants in life. Axel and Rooney’s marriage of convenience makes perfect sense. It’s an easy solution. Avoiding all of the life-altering feelings that start flying around is anything but easy!

Axel, being shy and autistic, has carved out a comfortable and solitary life for himself in rural Washington, and doesn’t believe there’s anything more a person could feasibly offer him without forsaking their own happiness. Especially not vibrant, chatty, social-butterfly Rooney. She needs people and interactions and adventure…things Axel feels unable to provide.

I absolutely loved watching these two sweet, awkward people learn to coexist and open up to each other. To be vulnerable and ease in to friendship. To pretend they haven’t always been hopelessly in love. It was a joy to watch Axel grow more comfortable in his own skin and enjoy life with Rooney. To watch Rooney realize she doesn’t have to earn the love of those around her by being perfect. My very favorite scene in the entire book was when Ryder and Willa came to visit Axel and Rooney. The hijinks and LAUGHTER were EVERYTHING. It was such a simple scene, but I felt like I was standing in the corner watching all the secret giggles pass back and forth between Axel and Rooney and it was so heartwarming. I couldn’t stop smiling.

Thank you SO MUCH to @Netgalley for the early copy to read and review. Not to be dramatic, but I was pretty sure I would have died if I hadn’t been approved. 😉 If you’ve never read a book by Chloe Liese, DON’T WAIT! Start today! This book, the 4th in the series, releases this September so you have plenty of time to catch up!

Chloe has done it again! With You Forever (Bergman Brothers Book 4) is a new favorite for me! It’s out September 14th, and I am endlessly grateful for the chance to review an early copy. I highly suggest that you listen to the playlist (shared on Spotify BB#4) if you can. Not only is the music just exceptional, but it makes the emotional connection to the story so much deeper. I have just been listening on repeat since I finished yesterday and I am a pile of emotions.

I have been eagerly awaiting Rooney’s story since book 1. I was a little bit in love with her before I read this book and now I’m head over heals for her. Chloe has been teasing the relationship between Rooney and Axel in the previous books and I was so excited to find out this would be a marriage of convenience with a grump and a sunshine in forced proximity with only one bed. This was SUCH a slow slow burn with so much angst and pinning. It had the meddling from the Bergman siblings that we’ve come to love and expect as well as the emergency meeting of the brothers. It made me want to pack up and move to a cabin in the woods in the PNW. Everything about this book is so cozy and gentle. It’s thick socks by the fire with a warm cup of tea and your favorite book while it’s raining outside cozy.

Rooney finds herself on the way to everyone’s favorite a-frame after taking a leave of absence from law school. She has dealt with a chronic illness (ulcerative colitis) her whole life and is currently suffering from a flare up that has made her current schedule untenable. Despite knowing that it’s Axel’s scheduled time at the a-frame, Willa invites Rooney to come stay and rest for a few weeks. Little does she know that Axel is trying to figure out how to pay for extremely expensive and vital repairs to the house without his family finding out. Normally, he would just sell some paintings, but he hasn’t been able to paint anything but Rooney since she kissed him during charades and he certainly cannot sell those. This leads him to consider the stipulation of his uncle’s will for the first time ever—get a boat load of money as soon as he gets married.

Rooney agrees to the arrangement as soon as she finds out (thanks to more meddling from Axel’s well meaning friends), despite the immense crush on Axel she’s been hiding from everyone since they met. She knows Axel has no romantic interest in her, so what could possibly go wrong? Because of all of the damage at the a-frame, the only option is for Rooney to stay at Axel’s very small house on the same property where he’s used to living alone. Rooney, the stray dog that is definitely not his but one he takes care of and clearly cares for, and a sweet found kitten soon fill Axel’s life with love and noise and the kind of existence he never thought would be possible for himself. The only problem is that this is only temporary and neither of them were ever supposed to fall in love.

I love this book so much. This book that’s about loving someone for exactly who they are and learning how to love them best based on what they need. There is so much wonderful communication between the two of them in every aspect of their relationship. The conflict came to a head in the most perfect way and it hit so so hard. In that moment of uncertainty and anxiety about where they stood and what comes next, Rooney needed Axel’s physical and verbal confirmation and Axel needed space and the time to process how he felt and what he needed to say. It showed that even when we’re bringing all we have to the table, we still get it wrong sometimes. I cannot recommend this one enough and I am nursing a serious book hangover.

I’ve been expecting this book for so long and it totally met all my expectations and more.

I don’t know why but since Rooney first appeared in book 1, I always felt some kind of connection with her. She’s an strong main character who is dealing with stress and a chronic illness. But, since she doesn’t want anyone worrying about her, she’s dealing with it alone until Axel appears.

Axel is the perfect grumpy male character who thinks he doesn’t know how to love someone. He’s on the spectrum and his personality is so well-written.
Axel’s been taking care of a dog for a long time but he always keep denying he’s the owner. He deserves the world!!

Axel and Rooney’s relationship is one of the most real relationship I’ve ever read about. The way they look after each other and comfort one another had me smiling all the time.
Their development was slow and beautiful.

“With You Forever” has become one of my all time favorite contemporary novels.

I have been dying to get my hands on Axel and Rooney's story, and let me tell you, it was beyond worth the wait. Chloe has a way of making every single one of her characters relatable. I got swept up in these two from page one and felt like I was wrapped up in a snuggly blanket, and hugged by them through the whole book!

First, Axel. Sweet, grumpy Axel. I loved everything about him. Too often I read grumps in books and have a hard time loving them at first--not here. Trust Chloe to write the best grump in all the land. I adored the way he pined for Rooney. (THE ART...IYKYK) And gahhhh the way he took such sweet care of her physically and emotionally with her ulcerative colitis. And the way he loves his brothers in his own unique way. I could go on and on all day. You'll love him.

Second, Rooney. Darling, adorable, sunshiny Rooney. I deeply related to her and felt like she could be my best friend in real life. I loved the way Chloe portrayed Rooney's tummy troubles. It was honest, and real, and something more romance needs! Also, she's just fun, and witty, and truly easy to love.

You'll adore this book if you love romances with:
-Deeply romantic open-door steam!
- Excellent communication between characters
- Slow burn + Mutual Pining
- Real world elements
- A memorable cast (Parker and Bennett and Skyler, I loveeeee you)
- A soft story that makes you weak in the knees

Thank you Chloe Liese and Netgalley for this ARC copy! My opinions are entirely my own!

Was this book what I expected? No, it wasn’t. It was more, it was everything and beyond whatever I thought it could be.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. It captured everything we believe Romance is about, everything we have been preaching about love, not unrealistic expectations about it, but the most important aspect about it we all atrive as human beings: 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭.

I’m writing this review with tears in my eyes because that’s the most romantic thing about this book: Axel and Rooney LEARNED how to love each other. They found in each other such a perfect safe place and sense of belonging, that they wanted to treasure it and care for it.

I knew Axel was going to be kind and caring behind that tough facade, but I wasn’t expecting this tender, passionate and so selfless and understanding man. He felt so hard, so much and his inner dialogue was so vivid and descriptive that I was able to feel everything he was feeling.

Rooney was the most amazing ray of sunshine. She was so empathetic, sweet and thoughtful. She cared so much about everyone. I loved her joyful heart and how quickly she figured out Axel’s code and how easy it was for her to read his needs and love him how he deserved.

I swear their relationship was so beautiful and made me swoon so freaking hard, that I had to stop, gasp, re read, let the words sink in and then look at the ceiling trying to grasp the beauty and powerful meaning in so many passages. I don’t think I will ever be able to get over the sweetness and true loving connection amd understanding coming out of the pages. In every sincle scene, they were always exchanging pieces of each other. That made the slow burn build up to perfection.

The slow burn? Sexy and beautifully satisfying! 😍 I don’t know if anyone will ever be able to write slow burns like Chloe does. She builds them up along with the emotional intensity the characters are going through. It was impossible not to get excited. I fet every single possible feeling with Axel and Rooney!

Special shout out to the Bergman family, who has brought so much joy to my life since book 1! As always, I loved how they were all part of the couple’s journey and how tight their bond is.

I have no idea how she does it, but Chloe writes masterpieces people will talk about for generations of Romance lovers.

𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 comes out on September 14th. Trust me on this one: pre-order it!

Forever grateful to Chloe Liese and NetGalley for gifting me this ARC in exchange for a review.

the ultimate queen of slow burn romance is back with, what is in my humble opinion, her best work yet.

chloe writes with such passion and care that it physically hurts. at multiple occasions i felt myself tearing up at the overwhelming emotions that i was feeling. not because the book was sad, but because it was so beautiful.
chloes books remind me why i love romance so much. they are real, and raw and breathtakingly beautiful. the diversity of her main characters and the care with which she writes them is spectacular. to quote myself from when i slid into her dms the other day: you’re magical. chloe has woven actual magic through her words, of this i am convinced.

with each Bergman book, I said “i can’t possibly love this couple more than the last one” but i have. With Axel and Rooney however, i already know that their story will be my favourite. their love story is so soft and tender; the mutual pining, the a-frame, the animals!

when it was announced that With You Forever was going to be a marriage of connivence trope, i couldn’t begin to fathom how that was going to play out. but it worked and it is perfect. i can’t wait to gush about this book with you all when it comes out in september, but trust me, if you didn’t already preorder it, just do it right now. this story was so beautiful i’m still overwhelmed.

i would be remiss to not speak to the representation of a hero with autism and a heroine with a chronic illness; inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis. Chloe is an #OwnVoices representation in the autism community. as someone who is neurodivergent, i felt so comfortable and understood in Axels POV. Chloe was able to vocalize feelings about relationships while neurodivergent that i couldn’t put into words.

my most sincere and heartfelt thanks to netgalley and chloe liese for the advanced copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

I loved this book so much. As some who also has autism spectrum disorder, I could relate so much to Axel. I complete understood the that feeling of being emotionally unable to be around family members and showing them the special ways we show love isn't as typical as most people.
Also loved the rep that Rooney showed by having ulcerative colitis. A close family member has this and Crohn's so I complete understand what it's like to see some you love going through this horrible chronic illness. It's depilating, painful, and embarrassing and it's hard to completely understand if you don't have it or don't know about it.
Moving on to slow burn build up that was a freaking firework stand that caught on fire finally at the end. Holy Guacamole! These two have chemistry like no other. It's molten and blistering and just want from them.
So excited for Oliver next!

You know what? From now on I’ll give any Chloe Liese book five stars without even reading them especially that book belongs to freaking amazing Bergman series!

Are they cozy, heart warming, hilariously entertaining? Oh, hell yes! They’re also heartfelt, genuine, engaging books with such fantastic, loveliest and sweetest characters you may ever read about!

And this book… well… this one is so cuuuteeee! The romance, the intimacy, the conversation blended in sweet, sexy, smart banters we’re adorable!

There are two of my favorites troupes in this story:
Sunshine meets the grump
Marriage of convenience

And there are sensitive subjects which are handled with care and approached sensitively: a shy, introvert, talented hero on the autism spectrum and sweet-kind hearted- genuine-selfless heroine with chronic IBD!

Rooney Sullivan is on the road, a promising law student taking a break from school because of her health condition she’s keeping as secret including her best friend Willa. She is introduced to Bergman family by her friend and she fell hard for this unique, hugger, feeder family she wished to be part of it.

She also has long time crush for Axel Bergman who is the eldest brother of the family. But he acts like he doesn’t want to do anything with her. And when a competitive charade game ends with their kiss, Rooney freezes and runs away. Now she is hiding from entire family, needing a place to think clearly and heal because her chronic IBD condition is getting worse and she doesn’t want to be noticed by the people who are close to her.

So Bergman family’s A frame gives her the best chance to lick her wounds and have alone time but two things she doesn’t know about the place’s last condition.

Willa didn’t tell her one of the reason she runs away from the city is just right there: that’s Axel’s time to stay there ( each family members arranged time share program for their own! ) And the place also needs reconstruction: there’s no electricity, water!

This means the chivalry Axel offers her his own cabin as he insists to stay at his tent! And she also eavesdrops Axel’s conversation with his close friends. The A frame’s construction fees cost a lot and for financing his project without informing his family, Axel should do something he hates! He needs to get marry ASAP so he can inherit the money his uncle left for him with the condition of eloping.

Rooney offers her help: because she loves Bergmans and she selflessly wants to solve the family’s property problem. This also means she will be married with the man she’s been ogling for two years.

They are two adults! They can act professional! They can forget the kisses they shared and move on ( yes, at the wedding ceremony they kissed again and it was mind blowing) but should they only pretend? When both of them want to tear each other’s clothes, it will be never so easy not to cross those blurry lines!
Overall: I loved it! I loved it! I loved it!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.
And thanks to Chloe Liese for healing my soul with her heartwarming feel good stories and adorable characters! She’s brilliant!

I have been anxiously awaiting Axel's story since he was introduced in book 1. I don't know what it was about him that drew me to his character... maybe because he's an artist and so am I or maybe because he was tall, dark and seemingly broody. A therapist could probably fill me in but for the sake of this review, let's just say I was excited and every single expectation was not only met but surpassed!

Chloe writes not only likeable characters but characters with depth. Each one has their thing, their own personal obstacle that they need to overcome, which usually means accepting and learning to live with it/them in a meaningful way. And like I have said in past reviews for her books, nothing ever feels like it's checking a box. The characters are authentic and it always feels like you could step into a real room for a chat with them.

Rooney is dealing with something that many people struggle with but feel embarrassed about. She accepts what she's dealing with but feels like OTHER people are embarrassed about it so she doesn't talk about what she goes through. Anyone who knows someone like Rooney knows how hard every day life can be for them. I cannot fully explain how much I love how Chloe handles these awkward/uncomfortable conversations between characters. I mean, to say I swooned during one of them feels so strange and yet totally natural. Rooney is of course more than her medical condition. She's driven but a little lost. She's infatuated but disillusioned by love. She's sunshine but with a cloud of doubt over her shoulder.

Axel comes across as a grump but really he just likes to be alone and he likes quiet and nature and the solitude his remote cabin offers him. He's also struggling hard because he cannot get a certain ray of sunshine out of his head. His struggles are artistic and personal. He is experiencing something new with Rooney and despite not understanding it he's definitely open to it, even if it takes a while to grasp. He is also the most dedicated family man to ever grace the page, he's just a bit unconventional.

I loved how these characters came together and how the rest of the Bergman's make appearances throughout without it feeling overwhelming. The majority of this book is Rooney and Axel dancing around and eventually with each other. The remote setting was great and despite finally breaking free of well over a year of being in some kind of lockdown, I was ready to back my bags to go be alone at a cabin in the woods!

I didn't think this series could get any better and yet here we are! Chloe Liese writes brilliant, funny, heartwarming and heartbreaking stories. They shine a light on realities for people and don't shy away from the ugliness of some of those realities. I am so grateful to have found her books and can only hope more and more people follow suit!

Thank you to Chloe Liese and her team for an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

As a huge fan of the Bergman series, I've been getting so hyped for Axel and Rooney's story. And in true Chloe fashion, she surprised me from what I was expecting yet gave Axel and Rooney exactly the story they deserved. This book was so soft and tender. Two people who are going through something, and learn something about themselves, and find something in the other. The way their relationship slowly develops takes a few steps back, and then moves forward, it was so realistic, frustrating because you want to bang these two idiots together and make them bang, but was so beautiful in the way they did get together.

Axel, sweet, sweet grumpy Axel. Who denies he actually has a dog who he takes care of and adores. Rebuilds his family's vacation home as his way of showing them how much he cares. Axel is just such, I can't even put into words how much my heart squeezed for Axel as he figured out how he felt about Rooney, how to express himself, and ask for what he wanted. The point he and Chloe made that neurodiversity looks different for everyone, this gruff gruff sweet man I just want to hug even though he doesn't eat any sweets. Honestly, my love language continues to be feeding people with food sensitivities their food and he does that so much in this book. Axel is swoony.

And Rooney. As someone with IBS, the representation in this book of food difficulties, talking about chronic health issues, dealing with stress, life decisions. I related too much. Chloe deals with these sensitive topics in such an honest and beautiful way. The intimacy, the conversations between Axel and Rooney. Another beautiful love story.

I am dying for the next installment and also never want this series to end.

Steam: 3
