I grew up loving teen titans, and I have really enjoyed this modernized version of Beast Boy and Raven. In the third volume, Raven and Beast Boy's paths are crossing after they both receive letters from Slade that say he will answer all of their questions about their powers. The setting is in Nashville, which is fun for me as a resident of Tennessee. I really like the modern story and art style for it more than I liked the comic versions from the 80s. This series is great for people who love comics or already loved DC comics/ the teen titans cartoon network show. I would love if these two creators did something like this for the other TT members too.

Kami Garcia is back with another fantastic reimagining of the Teen Titans stories. Raven and Beast Boy's coming together in this story was really fun to read, and I was excited to see how the two previous comics would merge together. Garcia didn't disappoint with this one! The art style remains consistent and enjoyable from the previous graphic novels, and I am really grateful I got my hands on this one early. If you enjoyed the first two comics, you'll really want to read this one. The way we've ended things makes me incredibly excited for the next stories in this tale, as well.

In this comic, Gar and Raven meet up with a mysterious man who claims he can help them develop their powers. As they wait for him to arrive, they explore the city and get to know each other.

I enjoyed the sunshine and grumpy trope that Gar and Raven had in this graphic novel. They are undoubtedly a perfect match. Additionally, I loved Max and Damien and hope to see more of their stories in the future. It was fun to see a superhero comic set in Nashville as well.

Nevertheless, I wish this story had been told in greater detail. I didn't get enough time to see Gar and Raven develop feelings or explore their powers because it was too fast-paced. The next graphic novel will hopefully provide more details and depth about their relationship.

This comic follows Gar and Raven after their separate graphic novel stories by the same authors as they head to Nashville to meet up with a mysterious man who claims he can help develop their powers. While they wait for him to show up, they explore the city and get to know each other.

I enjoyed the sunshine and grumpy trope of Gar and Raven. They are obliviously a great match. I also loved Max and Damien and hope we see more of their stories in the future. Nashville was a unique setting for a superhero comic too, which was a fun change.

However, I would’ve liked to see more from this story. It was very fast-paced and didn’t give enough time to really see Gar and Raven develop feelings for each other or explore their powers. Hopefully the next graphic novel will have more details and depth about their relationship.

BB and Raven make a really cute couple in this comic cover, blending the two key colors from their solo comics. It’s the kind of cover that makes me imagine them as YouTube co-stars.

This was primarily a romance between these two troubled teens, and their trauma paints the relationship. As usual in their stories, they both have feelings for each other, but BB is more vocal and works really hard to make Raven feel safe with him. While all this is going on, Slade (AKA Deathstroke) tries to manipulate the teens into the arms of a research lab looking to turn them into new defense technology. Fortunately, they aren’t alone, and Raven’s best friend Max comes to their aid alongside… Damian Wayne?

Yeah, Damian Wayne is in this story for some reason. He has a different character design than usual, swapping out his Robin logo for a “D” that looks strikingly similar. He is pictured as darker skinned, which is in keeping with much of the more recent comics. Traditionally, Damian has been portrayed as pale caucasian like his father, but newer comics give him a more middle-eastern complexion, and I feel this is appropriate. His grandfather is Ra’s Al-Ghoul, an Arabic name. (Though Ra’s is of different ethnicities based off the version of the comics you read.)
Damian’s age here alongside the nacent Titans team puts it squarely outside the mainstream continuity, and I am just fine with that. If you are going to try and bring these characters into a new era for new readers, you kinda need an isolated continuity free of all the confusion of DC’s multimillion crisis events.

Consider if you like / Reminds me of:
If you like the old Teen Titans cartoons, as well as less fantastic, slice of life comics, you might enjoy this. There is very little action, and a lot more character development.

The art in this book is amazing, all the details shown and the visuals of Gar and his DNA adapting were such a cool way to show the process. I enjoyed the story of Raven and Gar getting to know each other and the introduction of some new faces. I am excited to see what the next book in the series will be!

I’ve really been getting into the DC world lately and while I consider myself no expert by any means it’s always fun to take a break from heavier reads and indulge in a comic.
PREMISE:
om #1 New York Times bestselling author KAMI GARCIA (Beautiful Creatures) and artist GABRIEL PICOLO, the creative duo behind the New York Times bestselling graphic novel Teen Titans: Raven, comes the romantic meetup we have all been waiting for!

It seems like years, but it's only been a few days since Raven Roth recovered her memories; trapped her demon father, Trigon, in her amulet; and had her heart broken for the first time. But she doesn't have time to think about the past...she has to focus on finding a way to get rid of Trigon for good.

Garfield Logan still can't believe he has powers that allow him to change into different animals, but the price of knowing that his parents kept this secret hidden from him just feels too high. And what's more, his difficulty controlling these abilities could have unexpected consequences.

This one was a bit over my head. I’m familiar with Beautiful Creatures the authors previous work so I knew I wanted to check this one out as well! The plot line was a bit much for me but I enjoyed all the artwork and would definitely check out any future work by the author as well!

Fans of the recent years of DC Comics may enjoy the updated take on the Teen Titans in this series. The previous book in the series introduced Beast Boy, and here we get to see Raven and Beast Boy's paths converge. I have always been a sucker for these characters, especially Beast Boy, and the reveal of this book's Titan got me really excited. As usual, Gabriel Picolo does an incredible job with the art for these characters. If you want a modern "teenage" titan that looks the part, this is the best iteration I can think of.

I was surprised by how quickly I finished the book, but if you like the pairing of Raven and Beast Boy, I am sure it will be just as quick of a read. I think the romance aspect of this one would appeal a lot to YA enjoyers. A large part of this book felt like fan service, but I am not complaining. I am very excited for the next book, especially with the hint as to who the next Titan may be. While it is not my favorite of the three books so far, it was a fast read and still enjoyable.

I've said it for a different graphic novel. I grew up on DC, was taught to read with Batman. So whenever the opportunity to get anything DC related crosses my path, I jump on it.

I haven't been disappointed and this? This goes into the success pile.

Beast Boy and Raven have done the relationship dance as long as I can remember. Will they, won't they? He counters her rough, cold, scared demeanor, she can handle his goofy self.

They bring actual, literal joy to my life.

Reading this was no different. The kids are in Nashville to meet up with someone (I won't spoil it by saying who. This is an ARC review after all. And things go a little haywire.

Raven ends up getting pickpocketed and crashing with Gar. They get attacked in an alley and he almost changes in front of her. She has nightmares about Trigon leaving him worried about her. Their chemistry, like always, is amazing.

Then we meet Ravens cousin/foster sister max and Damien Wayne. Max followed Raven because she wanted to help but Raven didn't want her in danger and Damien is there to meet [redacted] as well.

And guess what?

He's BROWN.

Now, that might not be a big deal to a lot of people but Damien isn't white. And whenever he's depicted as such when his mother and grandfather are brown, it's infuriating. He's gotta have a least a little melanin.

I was absolutely in love with his chemistry with Max. And with Max in general, she a fantastic character.

The art was amazing. I loved every panel. I didn't see anything jarring or any art that just didn't seem to fit. Every bit of it added to the story and I truly enjoyed reading it.

I'm giving this a five (5) star rating.

This comes of 9/28/2021 so grab a copy!

I'm really enjoying these! I'm excited to see what happens in the next one now that Robin has shown up and it looked like we got a sneak peak of Starfire. The artwork is amazing like always. Gabriel's art has always been a favorite of mine.

I've been getting into Teen Titans lately so I was super excited when Netgalley gave me access early. I loved the art and thought it was really well done. I enjoyed the story and having a comic of how Raven and Beast Boy started dating. I really liked how beast boy was protrayed too! I haven't read the first two books so I'm gonna check out those next.

Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven is the third book in the series and should be read in order. The road so far finds Raven on the search for Slade Wilson after finding out she is a half demon and her father is evil personified. Beast Boy discovered he has animal powers from a experimental treatment his parents gave him as a child. Looking for answers, Gar is set up to meet Slade in Nashville too. A chance meeting leaves Raven and Gar killing time together while they wait. Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl among secrets, lies, and danger for a cute, page turning story that I could not put down. This is another winning Teen Titan story by Kami Garcia with some loveable art by Gabriel Picolo. that is a must read for Teen Titans fans. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Thanks to Netgalley and DC Comics for providing this e-arc!

This is my first experience with the creatures and i'm quite content with the characters and their personalities. The writing felt clunky and cliché so it bugged me a lot alongside the unjustified insta-love

I love these comics! The art is so perfect and the story is so cute. I loved all the activities Raven and beast boy got up to, and I can’t wait for the next book

I've always loves the story of the Teen Titans and the newer spins that Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo have brought to the spotlight absolutely thrill me. I loved getting to see the relationship progression for Beast Boy and Raven and their respective struggles with their powers. I can't wait to add this copy to my collection 😍.

This was super cute as were the other Beast Boy and Raven graphic novels! Loved the story, the characters, and the art!

I still can't believe how long it took me to get into Teen Titans, but I'm so glad I finally did and that there's multiple new takes on the team, including this series. I continue to love these angsty mutant teens and cannot wait to see where this goes next. The first two books were nice intros into the basics of Raven and Beast Boy, but I'm glad this book sets up what will happen with everyone next now that they've met and revealed powers. I have no idea what the overall arc for this series will be or how many titles they will get, but I cannot wait for Starfire to join them and for them to (hopefully) crush Slade. My only complaint, which is super minor, is I would love to see some more action scenes which give Raven and Gar the chance to use their powers. I know we're still in the exposition part of the storyline, but there could still be some cool fight scenes. I'm sure that will improve if Damian has his way. Can't wait to see what comes next!

After enjoying Kami Garcia's "Teen Titans: Raven," I have been anticipating Raven's next appearance in this series. Unfortunately, this story didn't live up to my expectations. The romance was predictable, and the book was a chore for me to get through. The subplot with Raven's foster sister was underdeveloped, and parts of it were unnecessary. I hope the next volume is better.

Picking up where Raven (1) and Beastboy (1) left off the two have finally met in his story! Featuring a few unexpected cameos and a very unexpected addition to the cast, this was a fun mesh of the story. I have always been a huge Teen Titans fan from the t.v. show to the new Justice League and comics. While I absolutely adored the artwork and the cute insta-love between Raven and Gar... and of course the little cameos of the other titans... my one big gripe was <spoiler>*Damien*, yes you heard me... Damien Wayne/Al-Ghul. While the story has him aged up and definitely changes a lot of his characteristics, he seemed more Dick (Robin) than Damien version of Robin. I adore the bat boys, and Damien is one of my favorite robins, from the bratty, hostile, and volatile personality to the soft side he reserves for his love of animals. This Damien just doesn’t feel like Damien. Normally I’m pretty fine with different takes on characters but the changes seemed pretty drastic to the point where all the things I adored about Damien just weren’t really there. </spoiler> So despite this one particular point, I did love the continuation of the story and can’t wait to see where the gang heads next and would love to see the other titans join too. I have always had a soft spot for Raven and Gar and this book definitely hits all the points when it comes to them. It’s a cute read and the story picks up pretty well. Definitely check it out!

*Thanks Netgalley and DC Entertainment, DC Comics for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

This is the third in the Teen Titans series and it is only getting better. In this installment Raven and Beast Boy meet and begin to have a relationship. We are also introduced to Damien Wayne and another character.

As with the previous two, the writing and illustrations are amazing. The character development is spectacular and the flow of the story is dead on.

I cannot wait to continue this series!
