Trapped by a drug dealer in Jamaica for five years, Cassidy sends letters to the FBI begging for rescue for her and her son. But she doesn't anticipate that the one to save her will be her old crush from high school.

The writing is fluid and the characters work together as well as always. There is plenty of tension and action to keep suspense lovers engaged. There were points in the action scenes where I gasped out loud!

However, I was a little disappointed. There were some odd things in the story, like how Cassidy was sending letters, that were never explained, and while I liked the way Mario was written he is pretty clearly a walking stereotype. Despite the characters having a past with each other, it felt very surface level.

Overall, not the author's best work, but still an enjoyable read.

Finally we get Gramps story!
Finally!
He knew her in high school. In fact, he once defended her against some bullies. Now, he’s going in to hopefully save her from a drug lord who has kept her and her son prisoners for years.
So happy they get a happily ever after.

This was a wonderful conclusion to the Silverstone series. In this book, we finally learn Gramps and Cassidy's story. It began when they were children, then was put on pause for years until Gramps learned that Cassidy was in danger and needed help. Gramps and the Silverstone crew traveled to Jamaica to rescue Cassidy and her son, who are in grave danger trapped in the home of a drug lord..

I found their story engaging, entertaining, and filled with drama. While still suspenseful, this book was a bit less action packed than most of the author's books. I really enjoyed learning about the relationship between Gramps and Cassidy and how it changed over the years. The epilogue was especially enjoyable and I loved the glimpse into their future.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, its so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

I adore this author and mark my calendar with her release dates, and eagerly await the latest instalments to her series so it’s always a bittersweet moment when the last in a series lands and I know than perhaps other than vague references or small bit roles in other series, it’s the last I will read of the series characters. However, having a series all wrapped up with a lovely bow is a great feeling too and I know a new series is coming so….

Trusting Cassidy is the last of the silverstone books and yet could probably stand alone and still be enjoyed. Each book does tie together overall but there has never been one underlying storyline tying them together other than the friendship and camaraderie of the silverstone team (both the vehicle recovery side and the military assassin one!!)

I loved the set up to this story and how it brought Gramps and Cassidy back into each other’s lives, I especially adored Mario and of all the children brought into any of her series I think he is my favourite so far. I adored how the team brought Cassidy and Mario into the family fold and the friendships built up with the wives.

I found this to be particularly low level suspense and danger, even more so than the author usually writes. It never seems to reach a boil point (even the culmination of that part of the storyline felt weak somehow even if what happened, happened and was shocking in its own way) I never felt that there was really any risk of something that bad happening. I was definitely invested in the book and the series so I’m not sure why I didn’t feel as emotionally attached to this book in that way.

It doesn’t stop it being a great story and a good book to read though and I’m excited the characters for the new series got a (very brief!!) introduction and I definitely look forward to seeing more of them.

I didn’t quite make it through this one. I read the first in this series and liked it. There was some action and a fun cast of characters and also some STEAM but this one just wasn’t my cup of tea.
