Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free e-audio version of this book in exchange for my review.

The description of this book brought back memories of the teen books I used to read by authors like Christopher Pike, back in the days of regular chain letters in the mail. I couldn't resist!

Overall, the story held my attention and provided some of that wanted nostalgia for the chain mail of old, but I did find the main character a bit whiney at times. The audio was a decent production and I enjoyed the narrator for the most part.

In the fashion of works such as Girl on a Train and Woman at the Window, this story is told from various points of view. One character is grappling with reality after a horrifying event, another is barely navigating through life and another is using the last bit of strength to avenge a brother's death.

Carys Jones has woven a deliciously suspenseful tale while asking the timeless question of whether or not redemption is possible if forgiveness is not extended by others or oneself.

This audiobook creates the tension felt with every word within the story. The voice acting is superb and left me wanting more road for my normal one hour commute each way.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
I was horrified when I got to the "reason" for the list or why Beth/Ruby was the way she was. If this wasn't a galley I probably would have given it up and quit reading this book. It never really got less horrifying, which is kind of the point of the story, but the story did develop further and somewhat redeem itself even if the characters weren't redeemed.
In general I prefer a single narrator/character perspective. I found this even harder to follow than normal with The Six being renamed as part of their sentence. Then the one storyteller not revealing who they were to the reader until the last 1/4 of the book. The audiobook version didn't help this confusion with a single narrator and no distinction or mark between switching perspectives.

The List by Carys Jones is a decent thriller that keeps you interested but doesn't wow your socks off. It's a good audiobook and very well narrated. I recommend to anyone looking for a decent, quick mystery thriller!

Run of the mill thriller. Nothing about it stood out. I found it quite repetitive and it didn't hold my attention easily.

4.5 Stars
People can't outrun the past choices they make. Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this book. Slow start, but don't give up on the novel. It definitely had me hooked.

Dreamscape Media thank you and NetGalley for this copy.

The List was beyond a great listen! I never took my earbuds out.
The narrator was so good. And honestly that goes a long way with me in the audio book world.
Such an easy listen, and flowed beautifully.
The story itself was amazing. I'm a big fan of Jones and could read her books all day every day.
The characters were Beth, Ruby and the creator of the list.... WoW.... Talk about wild!
Many twists to keep the reader fully engaged throughout, anticipating the final conclusion.

I know I'm late this book but I can't recommend this book enough!
Thank you again for the opportunity to read and review The List.

Audiobooks are very hit or miss for me, and I'm having a lot of conflicting feelings for The List. Creative and insanely creepy concept that I think is overshadowed by the narrator's prose. I wished for a little bit more progression in the plot but I found it at a stand-still a couple of times. Maybe I would enjoy more as a physical copy? Thank you Dreamscape and Netgalley

This was a fast-paced thriller with unexpected twists! I really enjoyed the way the narrator encompassed all the different characters. It was difficult watching Beth sink into her, albeit justified, paranoia only to wonder why she hadn't been more paranoid earlier on! Loved all the twists I didn't see coming!

There’s a lot of great twist and turns, and action. I love a good murder mystery. There were a lot of slower parts which made it more difficult while listening to audio (I would have probably enjoyed physically reading a bit more). But it keeps you guessing through the end which I loved.

I was very excited to listen to this audiobook which the publisher provided to me in exchange for an honest review. The description and the cover of the book had me excited to begin listening, unfortunately it wasn’t what I was hoping. There were for sure some twists, but there were also places where the story was a bit slower. Overall I thought the book was just okay. Didn’t deliver what I was expecting.

Beth is comfortable in routine and every single day she runs the same trail. She knows every turn, bump or crack along the trail. When she noticed the piece of paper out of place on the trail she heads over there. She notices there are five names on the list, she is number three and the first two are dead. What is this list and what does it mean?
.
Quick paced and tipsy Turvy, just like this trail, I needed to know what exactly this nightmare list entails. This was definitely great as an audiobook!

Thank you #NetGalley and DreamscapeMedia for an ALC in exchange for an honest review!

I was very intrigued when I saw this cover and even more so when I read the description. I listened to an audio version of this book courtesy of the publisher and have written this review with my honest opinions. While there were some good twists that I did not see coming I found the book dragged at several places, and large pieces of the story seemed implausible to me. I had a hard time focusing to get the big reveal and the ending. Overall not a bad book, and the narrator did a good job bringing life to all the various characters who had their perspective told.

Beth Belmont is going for her normal run int he woods when she spots a pristine paper with five names. The third name is hers. The first two people are dead. No matter what Beth tries to tell herself or her boyfriend Josh tells her she cannot leave this mystery alone. She needs to know why someone would send her this threatening note and if her life is in danger. I do think given everything she should have had a guess what the list was, but it was a decent mystery.

Thank you Dreamscape Media for my copy of The List audiobook.
Beth Belmont seems like your average young woman. She enjoys running every morning, has a job and boyfriend she lives with, but one morning she comes upon a piece of paper on her run. On the run are five names and the third name is her own. She confides in her boyfriend who shrugs it off as someone from work or her being paranoid. She tries, but cannot let it go, so she decides to investigate on her own who the other people on the list are. When she finds out they both have died recently she dives in deeper. As you start to learn more about the others on the list and about her past, you start to question everything!
I enjoyed this book, but felt the flow of the story could have been better. It had a good premise, but I started losing interest and think the direction of the story wasn’t great. I look forward to reading more by this author. I enjoyed the narration as I felt the emotions from the characters and it helped to keep me in the book.

The List by Carys Jones, another psychological thriller. It was a terrifying and gripping story about murder, guilt and redemption.

Beth Belmont tries hard to bury a horrible past. But it haunts her every night. Things take a turn when she stumbles on a list of names, and her name is the third on the list.

This book really impressed me! I liked the mystery and how you could try and guess who the three narrators were and how they were related to each other. I especially liked the chapters from Ruby's POV at the institute.

I enjoyed this book! It kept my attention throughout the story. I struggled in the beginning switching between the multiple POVs but it definitely got tied together for me throughout the story. I also loved the narrator in this one, I sensed so many emotions in her voice as she read the story.

Unique concept. I would have liked to have seen a trigger warning for child violence, but it would have taken a toll on the reveal. The train track scene had me holding my breath. Clever and well written, a slow burn that keeps you reading into the night.
