This is a dark mafia romance between Marcus and Fallon with enemies to lovers themes with a captor/captive dynamic. I didn’t particularly fall in love with the first half of the book, But I did really enjoy the second half. I just couldn’t connect them together and Marcus was hard for me to like til after the first half of the book.
Fallon has been taken and placed on an auction and where Marcus first see’s her, reminding him of his past. He must have her, costing him a hefty price. When we get further into the book we get to enjoy the secrets revealed and the discoveries made about the characters, which I throughly enjoyed.
Trigger warning for forced relations between the two main characters.
This book was in an audiobook format narrated by Alastair Haynesbridge and Samantha Summers who did a fantastic job!

Oh man. This is a tough review to write for a few different reasons. First...this description sounded so good, but oh my gosh...my stomach was SO SOUR the entire time listening to this audio book. The content is not for the faint of heart and I don't even consider myself squeamish. I love the dark and twisty books, but this one I couldn't stomach at all. I had to stop and I am saddened by that, but this is the stuff of actual nightmares.
The writing was well done, but the plot...I just couldn't .
