This book definitely was out of my normal type of genre, but I was drawn to it for some reason. My husband was military for 22 years and that may have had something to do with it, but I was intrigued. The author kept my interest from start to end and there were areas that I was like okay get on with it. However, overall they were minor blips and did not take away from the storyline or wanting me to put down the book.
The storyline was great and the author wrote it extremely well and I felt as though I was in the jungle and experiencing everything that everyone was. I recommended this book not only to my spouse, but to other fellow readers who would appreciate this book and the style of writing.

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

Overall a good book. What I liked about this book was it was just the experience described and no opinion or discussion about what was right and what was wrong. It made us to think who was right and who was wrong and this book helps us decide that instead of the Author feeding their opinion, which can be biased.
The jungle life is very difficult and the Author was successful in keeping our curiosity alive through out the book.
I would have been better if the Author could write the after life of World War II
