I like how this is written! I like that it has a lot of references to literature but it is quoted enough that it's ok if I haven't read it. The one thing is that it feels like it is taking a long time to get to a thesis statement. I can't quite grasp exactly what the takeaway should be, apart from "You should read old writers even if you don't agree with them." The book exists to explain WHY you should do that, but I feel like I wouldn't be able to sum it up easily.
