A wide array of baby knits, from traditional to modern. The instructions are easy to follow and straightforward. There are plenty of pictures, although they are oddly repetitive and occasionally upside down. I'm unsure if that is a stylistic choice or just a pre-press error.

Overall a great addition to your knitting library!

I was able to review the "Big Book of Baby Knits" on Netgalley. I am a knitter and would definitely purchase this book to be in my library. I love knitting for babies and this book has so many great looking knits. Now I just need to know people who are having babies.

This is a good resource for those who are just getting into knitting. My main issue with the patterns is that they are designs that I've seen many times, so they aren't very original. The layout of the photos with the names of the patterns was confusing when the pattern was a couple of pages away. But the photos were great.

I liked the face that this book has a lot of different patterns for different types of baby things. That makes it a good investment for someone who needs those kind of patterns. For me, it was almost too many patterns, sometimes I find a smaller more curated selection works better.

5 stars for the actual patterns but 4 stars for missing certain information
Big book of baby knits, is a fantastic book filled with baby knitted and crochet items from booties to jumpers, blankets and toys along with other accessories. The patterns are easy to read and understand even for a beginner. Each pattern is correctly noted to contain the sizes, the suitable yarn type, the knitting or crochet needle size in US size but I think the UK size is in brackets, the special stitches that’s used, the pattern follows and lastly how to finish the item or put together. While it’s great to see that in the getting started section has how to do a gauge swatch, choosing the correct size, and of course the measurements for each baby sizing, then the basic stitching guide of crochet and knitting terms, lastly some hints and tips. I’m a little disappointed that for a beginner or someone who’s not good at remembering on how to complete the stitch they are not shown on how to do that particular stitch. Without the how to complete certain stitches in crochet or knitting I would recommend this book to those who learnt and have knowledge and experience in crochet or knitting.

Not really a book for beginners, better for knitters who have a little experience with the craft and techniques. Lots of cute patterns. I generally like to knit seamlessly in the round but most of the patterns were for seamed garments.

A very comprehensive collection of Baby Knits. It covers everything - from blankets and booties, to rompers and sweaters. All accompanied with cute photos and clear instructions.

However, unfortunately I didn't feel like there was all that much variation in the designs within each category. The sweaters were all rather similar, as were the blankets, bottoms etc. There were some cute two-piece outfits that I'd like to try knitting. but I was slightly disappointed by how few, in such a large collection.

Brilliant photography. All steps and processes well explained.
A great collection of baby knits from beanies and booties to dresses and blankets.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this great book.

This is a book is beautiful knitting projects for babies. There are sweaters, two piece sets, bundle wraps, hats, adorable booties, and little knitted toy animals such as a bunny that can be made. They are really stunning.

I wanted this book because my cousin just had a baby and loved the gorgeous cabled sweater on the cover. I would love to make several of the patterns. The problem was with the Kindle download it was obviously not done correctly. Patterns and the picture were not on the same page. The pattern would go on for several pages and then another picture was present. Charts were spoken about but they were not there, instead it just had strange # combinations. From what I could make out, the patterns seem fairly simple and the end result would be a beautiful outfit. Still, you need a pattern laid out on the page and clear to read.

So, the other option is to use the NetGalley App and try to download the protected PDF. This did not work. I tried several times. The exact same thing happened yesterday on another book and the publisher mentioned this could happen. It is very frustrating because I really like the Knits to do.

So, this is a problem with downloading through NetGalley. I do not like to rate the book poorly for what obviously is a downloading problem. I gave the book 5* because if I could follow it and it was correct on the Kindle Version, I loved the outfits. I would definitely recommend trying them. The cover photo is beautiful, too and shows what you should expect to be able to make.

Hopefully, this problem will get figured out, so I can see these types of beautiful books.

Thank you NetGalley, Marie Claire, and Fox Chapel Publishing for giving me a copy of this book.

This is a fabulous book on knitting baby items, the patterns are easy to read and the diagrams for each garment are very helpful. The garments range from small knitted toy to cardigans, complete baby outing garments to booties and blankets. It is such a joy to see babies in knitted garments these day, as it indicates a real expression of care for the baby. Some time taken to craft an item with patience and care. Fabulous book.

I loved this pattern book. recently I became a grandma and I have looking for some cute and easy patterns. This book was perfect. It has patterns for boys and girls. Many patterns to choose from for all different knitting skills. The instructions are easy to understand for beginners without being insulting for advanced knits. One of the things I like the most is the instructions are written out along with charts. Being a fairly new knitter I struggle with charts. With the instructions written out as well it is helping me understand and learn knitting by charts. There are many project in this book I plan on making.

Big Book of Baby Knits
80+ Garment and Accessory Patterns
by Marie Claire Editions

I received a digital arc of this knitting pattern book from NetGalley and Fox Chapel Publishing and Landauer Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

This is a phenomenal knitting pattern book for someone wanting to knit for little ones. I’m a mom of two and an aunt to four and have been knitting for 16 years. There are a variety of patterns here that can lend themselves to different skill sets. I love that so many of the items can be mixed and matched - tops, bottoms, socks, booties and cuddly stuffed animals. I was especially impressed with the sleep sacks and have not seen that elsewhere. This is definitely a great book to purchase if planning a number of projects I always find it so much easier to mark my place in the pattern in a book. This would make an excellent gift for a knitter. I also loved that the majority of the items were in gender neutral tones so you as the creator could envision it more easily for the particular little one you are knitting for. 5/5

Mostly stuff for newborns and up to 3 months. I wish it had more older baby sizes, but the patterns and finished projects looks very cute. The patterns seemed written well and the pictures were very helpful.

Easy instructions to follow. Almost everything you need, everything to make the project were mentioned with clear visual instructions. My mom tried one project irl and it came out really good.

For a beginner friendly craft book It's perfect.

Very nice knitting book with a lovely selection of baby knits perfect for the new grandmother or aunt. Coordinating sets of tops and little sweaters, sometimes with a matching blanket or pants, are presented in order of increasingly complicated knitting techniques, from plain stockinette through to cables. The photography is lovely, and the layout very engaging and crisp. There are no little babies in my life, which I was ruing very much after reading this pattern book. Patterns are presented with written directions, occasional charts, and every pattern has a sketch to show how the pieces fit together. Charming book for avid knitters or for someone expecting a new little one.

The Big Book of Baby Knits is chock-full of adorable knitted items for bubs up to 24 months old. From practical items like blankets, sleeping bags and booties, to overalls, tunics, sweaters, and toys, there is everything you could need to kit out a bub in stylish, woolly warm clothes.
Each pattern includes helpful photographs and diagrams to help you stay on track, plus detailed yarn requirements. As this book has been translated from French, there may be some issues obtaining exactly the same yarn used, but the yarn size/gauge/metreage are all included, as are the knitting needle conversions.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but It's a very sweet knitting book, with lots of patterns for competent knitters to try.

~Many thanks to NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review~
