**Thank you Netgalley, for this advanced copy of Animal ABC. It was so adorable! I loved the silly illustrations and caricature style of the animal drawings. This book was a simple ABC book, which featured an animal and a fact for each letter of the alphabet. This seems like a perfect book for a few ideas: beginning of the year to review the alphabet; and also a mentor text for writing a class ABC book. Love the possibilities with this one!

Animal ABC is a vibrant book introducing young children to the alphabet. Each page features a brightly colored animal and a unique description for each letter, like for E: "ELEPHANTS love bananas and can even peel their own!" The illustrations are caricatures of animals and sometimes they were a little weird, but overall pretty fun. Toddlers will love this fun book!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

A fantastic alphabet book. Going through the alphabet an animal at a time while learning a fun fact about the animal. Love the multiple learning aspects.
The illustrations are brilliant, each animal has great detail and they are drawn in a fun manner too.

We’ve even leaned some new animals thanks to this book.

Typical alphabet book but with some no so typical animals. Children can learn the alphabet and also learn some fun facts about the animals in the process.

This is a great book for toddler and preschool aged little ones. I read through it with my 2 year old and he loved the illustrations. There are a lot of bright colors to keep kids intrigued and I loved how there was were animal facts for each animal and their letter.

I read this book with my daughter and she absolutely loved it!

She loved reading the letters and really joining in – it was a fun read for us!

She loved the types of animals of the different pages too – she is a massive fan of animals, nature and the natural world and she is due to start school in September this year so she is really enjoying learning and finding out new things

It was well laid out and had some fantastic illustrations!

It is 5 stars from us for this one, as a mum I thought that it was great too – easy to follow and easy to understand – very highly recommended

The truth is out, for this artist has three board books from this publisher, and the blurb for the others has always said we'll learn things from facts in the script as we go along. Well, that was in error, but it was a cut and paste job from this title, which goes through the alphabet with animal portraits and does indeed give us a factoid or description of how they're notable as we go along. The thing is, for me the design is a little staid. I know, look at the gurning elephant or the hilarious jellyfish here and try and tell me 'staid' is the right word, but this seemed to be either a trial run for the creator's craft or a concerted effort to be more serious. Where is his trademark frog, and ridiculous eyebrow designs? They're not here, and even though this is so close to five stars it doesn't match the others I've had the privilege of seeing in this series. The fact that someone like me, a childless bloke in his late forties, calls the chance to review a file like this a privilege just goes to show how wonderful these books are, but this is not quite on a par with the counting and names-of-colours lessons we've seen elsewhere. This Ilic chap is still however one for us all to look up to. Four and a half stars.

This book was so cute! I wish it had an intro and ending, but besides that it was so much fun to read out loud and learn all about animals that I have never heard of.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy to honestly review!

I love ABC books, I love animal books, and this cover just looked hilarious and cute, so of course I had to get this book on Netgalley!

You would think, going by the cover, that this book just features a fun ABC with various animals fitting those letters! Well, that is one part of the book. Each animal also has a fun fact (some even two). From bears crushing bowling balls to lions roaring so loud that you could hear it 8 kilometers away! I really had fun flipping to the next pages and see what animals would be featured and what kind of fun facts we would get with those animals! I love the animals that were chosen for each letter, sure, not the most original animals, but I was still very happy with the choices.

The art? That was definitely one of my favourite part of the book. The art is just weird, wonderful, strange, and hilarious. I love it and I definitely want more of this artist. Plus, I wouldn't mind having one of the pages as a print on my wall.

All in all, a short, but oh so fun book teaching kids ABCs and some facts about animals in one go. I had tons of fun reading this one and I am sad that it is over. Thankfully, there is another book on Netgalley, this time with counting, so I guess you can look forward to a review for that one soon.

This is a really cute and colorful picture book with many uncommon animals representing the alphabet. Each picture has an illustration as well as a fact. It was nicely done and I enjoyed the facts that went along with each picture. Great for pre-k or kinder kids.

Animal ABC is a funny alphabet primer for babies and young children with silly cartoon animals by Nikolas Ilic. Due out 20th July 2021, it's 26 pages and will be available in boardbook format.

This is a very colorful and appealing book for both the youngest babies and toddlers as well as their caregivers. I have three kids of my own (and assorted nieces, nephews, and other small human friends) and I have experienced the same near-horror of reading "Goodnight Moon" for the 5 millionth time. It's good to have alternatives. This book is fun, unambiguous, creative, and *short* with a nice selection of alphabet animals which are outside the cookie-cutter norm (yes, fox, pig, and zebra are here, but so are narwhal, quetzal, and urial). The art is full of whimsy and humor and the simple text includes some factoid tidbits (narwhal's tusk is actually a tooth! who knew?).

Very cute book, well written and full of adorable animals. Rugged boardbook format. I like it!

Five stars.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

This entry in the ABC book market features 26 colorful, cartoon-like animals. For each creature, there is a fun fact beneath the illustration. Some of the animals are well-known, as for example, a dog and a fox. Others are a bit more obscure; there are a komodo dragon, a quetzalt and an urial for instance.

Those looking for an ABC that has a unique character may want to pick this one up.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
