Thank you for providing me with an audiobook of this title via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I am an elementary school librarian and RL Stine books are very popular with my students. I was excited to give this new series a try to see if it was something I wanted to purchase for my library. I am so glad I tried them first. There is no way I would put these in the library for young readers. The books are definitely written for older readers. I did not enjoy this and honestly, didn't get around to finishing it. The book started out with a discussion between mother and daughter about her lower grade in math and the daughter responds wondering why the mom cares. Everyone knows girls aren't good at math and she'll never need those skills as a homemaker. WHAT?? Even if you are trying to establish a time period and characters, why put thoughts like that in to a book for youth. It never improved from there for me either. There is graphic violence, bizarre storylines. young characters who steal their parents beer and then drive. I am so disappointed and would not recommend these to anyone.

Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, R. L. Stine, Brittany Pressley (narrator), and Dan Bittner (narrator) for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of The Lost Girl in exchange for an honest review.

I used the NetGalley Shelf app to listen to this audiobook. Brittany Pressley does a great job of narrating the female perspective sections, which take place in the past, and Dan Bittner voices the male character whose perspective takes place in the present. They both do a phenomenal job narrating these characters, but especially Dan. Not only does he do the teenage boy very well, but he's really great at dialogue and changing his voice for female characters within Michael's main perspective. Great narration that made this audiobook an intriguing listen.

There is a new student at Shadyside High School, and she may cause more problems than a new girl should. Michael and his girlfriend, Pepper, befriend the new girl, Lizzy. They notice Lizzy seems to appear at random (and rather inconvenient) times. One night, Michael invites Lizzy out with him, Pepper, and a couple of their other friends to go have a thrill ride on a show mobile...after having a drink or two. When Michael crashes his snow mobile into a man, killing him, he and his friends do not report it for fear of getting in trouble. Not for murder, since it was an accident, but for drinking.

Soon, Michael's friends start being murdered one by one. He gets strange calls and swears he sees this man who died, who Lizzy identified as someone she knew. As the police begin their investigation, Lizzy's identity is soon questioned by Michael and Pepper when they don't find a trace of the girl registered at their school. Pepper thinks Lizzy might be behind the murders, but how does that explain a dead man coming back to life? Pepper and Michael find themselves tossed into a mystery that spans through decades into the past.

This is a very enjoyable listen. I already mentioned how great the narrators are. There are some fun twists that I did not expect that were rather exciting. It was a thrilling mystery that had me eager to find the truth of the tale. I recommend for teens, lovers of spooky tales, or any old or new R. L. Stine fan.

Nostalgic, fun, read that wasn't quite as creepy as most R.L. Stine books. The reissued Fear Street Series does a great job of connecting the older stories to the new ones by bringing the history of the Fear family in the books.

This story felt a lot like the classic teen thriller, I Know What You Did Last Summer. The characters were not as developed as some of the other books in this series, but it was still a good read.

Fear Street fans will be pleased.

I absolutely love R.L. Stine and the Fear Street series, but I just couldn’t get into this story. Pick up any of his other books, just skip this one.

This book was ok, I had hig hopes for the three new books and was a bit disappointed. I think they would appeal to new readers but it isn't really someone for those who grew up with them.

I love reading anything R. L. Stine, I used to love Goosebumps when I was a kid and this book did not fail!
The audiobook was AMAZING! I felt all of the reminiscing and the chills!
In this story, a new student is at Shadyside High. She is everything you would think that would get the students taking she is beautiful, talented and she seems to have her sights set on the most popular guy in town.
While Michael is trying to be nice to the odd girl, his girlfriend Pepper has a whole different perspective on the situation, and to be quite frank she is not a fan at all.
Then during an outing, there was an accident and the kids make a poor decision that has come back to haunt them over and over when bodies start dropping like flies!
I loved the mystery and see how the past and present begin to fall together! I would definitely recommend this to any who is interested in a great story involving mystery, murder, and of course ALL THE CHILLS! Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan audio for the opportunity!

This book was ok. Nothing spectacular. I had high hopes with the goosebumps/ fear street series but this fell flat. It was a bit too cheesy for me. Maybe because I am an adult and this is a YA book but I’d skip it.

Honestly, YA horror doesn't get enough credit. Enjoyed as an audio book and the narrator sounded almost like Casey Kasem and did an amazing job. The story is wonderfully gruesome and eerie. There are two storylines, as you learn about Beth and her father's horse farm. Intermingled between the story of Michael and him meeting the new girl, Lizzie, at school and the havoc she brings into his life. I hung on every word and had to listen to the whole book in one sitting. I loved every bit of it!

It's a new show on NETFLIX, so just 1 more audio book and I plan to binge the three movies! I can hardly wait!

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

Perfect narration on this one. The voice draws you into the story. The book itself is so well written that you just want to keep listening to it. We found it hard to turn off it was so good.

I grew up on R.L. Stine. These books did not disappoint. He is still one of the best story teller's. Of course this is geared towards YA. I would love if he wrote a few general fiction books.

After binge watching the Fear Street series on Netflix, I decided to check out some of the books. This story didn’t do much for me. I almost didn’t finish it, but I stuck with it. I grew up reading RL Stine, so I wouldn’t write off reading more of the Fear Street series because of this one.

I grew up reading Fear Street books, and I am loving the relaunch!
It's an easy read, with a clever and interesting plot.
Can't wait to try out more from my old friend R.L. Stine; I've missed you friend.
Much love to NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for my DRC.

Thanks to the publisher for providing the audiobook for The Lost Girl in exchange for an honest review.

I was an R.L. Stine superfan growing up so when I saw these available for review, I requested all 3 review copies without a second thought. I shouldn't have. I didn't enjoy any of the 3 I've listened to but this one is by far the worst.

First off on an audiobook side, the narrator sounds too old. I'm normally fine with clearly incorrect age casting, but our MC is very sarcastic and tongue and cheek and having an adult man say all that felt really forced and also like a parody of an actual teenager.

The plot was definitely the weak point though. The description makes it sound like a very different book than the one you get and the one you get doesn't work either. This is really really gorey so I don't think it's the case of "reviewer has clearly outgrow this genre" because I don't think it could realistically be marketed anywhere younger than my age range. It's just not good.

I really wanted to like this one, but it became too farfetched for even a Fear Street. The audiobook left a lot to be desired--though Brittany of course is a prodigy, the male voice actor was way too mature to voice a teen boy. It disturbed the flow of the story, which was already full of holes and negligent silliness.

I felt like a kid all over again while I was reading this book! I pretty much figured out where the story line was heading halfway through the book but I still enjoyed the story anyway. Fans of R.L. Stine will love his new book and not be disappointed. Thanks Stine for transporting me back to my childhood! This is my second audio book by this narrator and she knocked it out the park once again!

As a girl raised in the heyday of RL Stine, I found The Lost Girl filled with so much nostalgia.

Not much has changed in Shadyside since last I visited, about 29 years ago! The high school still seems pretty idyllic, the kids are fun and carefree, and the place is STILL haunted as HELL, and while I enjoyed the audio production of this book, I did wish for a plot with just a little something more fresh and updated.

Would I have loved Girl when I was ten years old? Absolutely. Would it have been my favorite? No.

This is YA? I thought it was especially gruesome and confusing. I used to be a young teen lover of goosebumps but this title had me confused.

What did I like? The blurb doesn’t do the book justice. Based on what I read I was waiting for a group of teenagers but instead we get a young girl with powers whose father is eaten alive by horses. The book flicks past from present and I wasn’t prepared for that. Reading fear street was great but listening was a confusing task.

I received a complimentary copy to listen to and voluntarily left a review.

I loved the characters, so realistic for high schoolers and the situation. This is a quick paced story, with the twists that R.L. Stine is famous for. The narrators are incredible and add to the story. Thsnks to Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm the target audience for this. I have a lot of nostalgia associated with R.L. Stine and the Goosebumps books. I also recently watched the Fear Street trilogy on Netflix and *really* enjoyed it. For these reasons, I decided to give this audiobook and another--The Dead Boyfriend--a try.

To say I was left wanting more is an understatement. I didn't expect that I would be scared by this, but I did think I would be at least a little bit invested. Instead, I spent the majority of my time rolling my eyes at the narrator every time he gasped or said he was a good writer but couldn't write well enough to describe how beautiful Lizzy is. I think maybe I'm just a bit too old for this, which was disheartening. I'm happy I listened to this audiobook but I don't think I'll be giving any of the other Fear Street relaunch books a try.

**I received an eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher!

This was pure, unadulterated nostalgia for me. I lived, breathed, and consumed the Fear Street books as a kid, and when I saw there was a relaunch, I just had to read them.

These books are everything I remember and more. I think these are actually NEW books - not re-releases of the old ones - but they fit so well with all the Fear Street books. (Although, they do have a few more adult themes than I remember - for example, this one has a near rape!)

Even so, I really enjoyed this one. It had the same crazy twists and turns (although reading them as adult, the twists and turns are much more predictable, much earlier on) and the same teenage angst and stupid decisions. I loved it. Ha.

Also, lest that sound overly critical and non-complimentary, we have to remember that these books aren't MEANT for adults; they're meant for teens and pre-teens. I would have totally eaten this stuff up at 12 or 13 years old.

The narrator was great. The story was perfectly Fear Street. I had a lot of fun reading this one.
