Wow. This plot definitely held my attention. IT. WAS. SCARY. How many people died? It was crazy.

The Lost Girl has a wintry setting, so you can either read it in the dead or winter yourself, or you can read it in the blazes of summer (like I did!), and maybe it can cool you off in the 100-degree weather. Either way, it's a CHILLING TALE. I'm not kidding. Not only are there just dangerous situations to be in, people really get hurt. Permanently. And what does this new girl at school, Lizzy, have to do with it? She seems to be all mixed up in the trouble. But then, so is Michael, and he's trying to be the good guy here...

The audiobook was narrated very well; I enjoyed the narrator's voice. Would listen to more by this narrator for sure!

Suitable for: Ages 14 & up (for violence/murder)

The nostalgia here for me is real. R.L. Stine was a favorite of mine when I was younger and now my son really enjoys these books as well. This one started a little rough for me. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but for the longest time with this one I wasn’t feeling Fear Street vibes. Of course, I had to remind myself this is technically for children so it wouldn’t seem as intense for me as I remember, but once the story picked up it was hard to put down!

Thanks to NetGalley, I was able to get this one on audio and enjoy some bonding time with my son as well. He also enjoyed it - but other than “yeah it’s good” I couldn’t get any opinions out of him. He did ask about more books in the series though, so I’d call it a winner.

Cute YA suspense book. Loved how nostalgic it made me! If you liked Goosebumps you will definitely like these. Good narration for both parts!

I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would and it is really making me want to start the collection on the series. Short and lots of fun, but also extremely scary in some parts, with a great story, too. All around loved it and I can't wait to listen to the other two on my NetGalley shelf!

It has been over 20 years since I have read any R.L. Stine, and it is still just as fun as it was back then. Thank you #Netgalley for the advance reader copy of The Lost Girl audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This book goes back and forth between the 1950s and present day. I wasn't sure where it was going with it, but I knew it would be important and it still surprised me. Thank you for the fun, spooky story about revenge and love.

My childhood self was rather psyched to get this one. I don't remember this one from back when I devoured Fear Street, but I know it is part of the relaunch series.

The story itself is like the original series and classic RL Stine. I listened to this audio knowing it wasn’t written for adults, so I enjoyed it. I could tell early on that something was up with Lizzie and not right. When it was revealed what was going on, I must say I hadn’t figured it out. This story was two time lines and two narrators. They both did a decent job, especially with changing up voices to differentiate the characters.

This book felt like a warm, horror hug sent from my pre-teen days. I could almost smell the library of my youth, where I spent hours sitting in the beanbag in the corner of the YA section reading Fear Street books. But beyond the warm hug, there was not much substance to this one. It felt like one of the more far-fetched Fear Street ones and there were quite a few holes. But it gets 3 stars because it was still a Fear Street book that gave me a good, nostalgic feeling.

The narrators were excellent and having two really helped to tell the difference in the two timelines the story was travelling along.

I loved reading the original Fear Street novels by R.L. Stine when I was younger, so I was really excited to have the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of The Lost Girl! The audiobooks comes in at just over 5 hours, and it was such a fun listen with excellent narration. This book passed really quickly and it was full of action. It was filled with a little more gore than I had expected or that I remembered seeing in the Fear Street books that I had previously read. I really liked the pace of the story, the different timelines, and the Fear Street nostalgia. Overall, this was a great spooky read with an ending that I didn't see coming.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to listen to this title. This did not affect the contents of my voluntary review. All opinions are honest and my own.

Having just recently watched all three of the new Fear Street movies on Netflix, I was excited to get the opportunity to listen to and review The Lost Girl, by R. L. Stine. I grew up devouring the original Fear Street novels and I seriously got so excited when I saw that they were revamping and bring Fear Street back.

The Lost Girl starts off with a story that happened in the past. It's the story of a good family that was wronged by a powerful man. Lives are lost in a wonderfully gruesome manner, and time goes on...to the present day. Michael meets Lizzie, a new girl at school, and quite quickly becomes captivated by her, much to the chagrin of his girlfriend Pepper. Before long, Michael's friends start dying and while I don't want to give any spoilers away, I'll say this: I really enjoyed my return to Fear Street! Brittany Pressley and Dan Bittner performed wonderfully and their narration fit the characters perfectly and brought them to life. The story flowed and came together with a somewhat predictable, though still very fun and entertaining ending. I'd definitely recommend this story to any Fear Street fan, or just anyone looking to read/listen to a good, classic horror/suspense novel.

Thanks to R.L Stine and Macmillan Audio for the chance to listen and review this book! I was given this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. #NetGalley

The Lost Girl is another fun nostalgic read from R.L Stein. This story had a dual time line and some gore. Like Fear Street books from 80s and 90s, The Lost Girl had some fun twists.

Love the classic Fear Street vibes and the nostalgia was great. The Lost Girl was a quick spooky read that I enjoyed. One of the death scenes in this one was particularly gruesome and prompted an actual physical "gross dread in your stomach" kind of feeling. I'm so glad I got to experience the Audiobook for this title as it was done very well.

I’m quickly becoming a fan of R.L Sterling. I like this book as much as I like “Give me a K-I-L-L” and more than “The Dead Boyfriend.” The book had some sad parts and a kind of traumatic one, but it kept me guessing until the end. I do look forward to reading more books by R.L. Sterling and I wish Netflix or any other streaming service would pick more of their books for series and/or films.

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed listening to this book! Since the length is on the shorter side, the storyline is straight to the point and jam packed with action. Something was constantly happening! I actually find this style of thriller/horror much more appealing than one filled with fluff and character drama.

I didn't suspect the twist at all! The story is told in dual timelines and everytime they switched i was wondering how they would end up related. I had know idea, even though i was enveloped in both stories.

I also really enjoyed the narrators. The male especially. I loved his portrayal of the female characters and think it fit them so well. His animation of traumatic scenes also added so much to the story that I wouldn't have gotten if I read this book in print!

I loved Fear Street as a kid and teen. This just brought all the memories back! Loved all 3 of these on audio!

I loved R. L. Stine's books as a teenager. My brothers read the Goosebumps books but I read the other ones; The Babysitter series, Fear Street and their spin-offs, The Girlfriend, The Boyfriend, etc. Loved them. Now that I'm...older...this is the first I've read since then and they're just not good. The plot and writing style just did not hold up and this was only written in 2015! This is one of two audiobooks I have from NetGalley of the Fear Street Relaunch. This was just cheesy, the writing was bad, and it was extremely far-fetched and just downright silly.

I LOVE R.L. Stine. I grew up on Goosebumps and Fear Street. These books really got me hooked on reading thrillers/horror. This was a creepy novel with 2 different timelines from the past and present. I really enjoyed the alternating story lines. An unfortunate tragedy strikes a group of teenagers who are out riding some snowmobiles. They attempt to cover it up and the story continues with the group in danger fighting for their lives. The ending was great and unexpected. There were some parts of the story that were predictable. I wondered the whole time how the alternating storylines would intersect. I think it was nicely done and fun quick read/listen.

Listening to this on audio was great. The narrators were very good and kept me engaged.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for access to this ARC!

Brittany Presley and Dan Bittner did a tremendous job with the narration of this audiobook. Both narrators had my full, undivided attention. They really made the story stand out.

I enjoyed this audiobook. There were a lot of surprises and twists.

The characters were fleshed out nicely and easy to sympathize with and relate to.

As always R.L Stine is a master of his craft and brought great scares as well as moments of dread, anxiety and sorrow.

I definitely recommend this audiobook.

Enjoyability 10/10

The Lost Girl was my first Fear Street book, and man, am I hooked! I didn't grow up reading R.L. Stine, but my son loves Goosebumps and is now starting to read the Fear Street series. Reading these books is something we both do together and, in my opinion, this series has a broad appeal - both him (9) and I enjoyed it equally.

In The Lost Girl, we follow Lizzy Palmer as she adjusts to life as the new girl at Shadyside High. Everybody is talking about her, and Michael is strangely drawn to her, even though his girlfriend. Peppa is not quite sure if they could trust Lizzy.

Things take a turn for the worse when a group of teens faces a horrible snowmobile accident, after which these friends start feeling like they are being haunted and in danger. Everyone thinks these hauntings and the casualty are related, but not Peppa. She is convinced Lizzy is behind everything.

We have a dual timeline, the present, and the 50s when a horrible murder occurred. As the story progresses, the connection between both timelines makes more and more sense.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Lost Girl as an audiobook produced by Macmillan Audio and narrated by Brittany Pressley and Dan Bittner. I listened to it with my son, who wanted to start listening to audiobooks. We both could easily follow the story. The pacing was phenomenal, and their chemistry was off the charts, which made for a seamless and enjoyable listen.

Just one more thing - I thought this story was going one way, but Stine took it somewhere else, and man, is he savage or what?!?! LOVED it!

Disclaimer: I first read it as an ARC. In exchange for an honest review, I am thankful to Macmillan Audio, St. Martin's Griffin, and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of The Lost Girl.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been a Fear Street fan since the first release back in the late 1980’s so I was thrilled to see these coming out. Once I realized that NetGalley was going to have the audio books I had to jump on them. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance audio book. If you’ve read lots of Fear Street in the past you know how these go. Some are gauged towards girls and some are gauged towards guys. Even though these are high school based I find myself being nostalgic at listening to the stories and hearing about the teenage problems. I highly recommend this audiobook and the book itself.

This story was quite spooky and twisty! I enjoyed every bit of the audio book!

Michael's life takes a strange turn when he meets a new girl in town. Lizzie is different, a bit mysterious and somehow mesmerizing. His girlfriend, Pepper, is definitely less than enthused about Michael's developing obsession with Lizzie Palmer. When a strange snowmobile accident pits a psycho against Michael and his friends, events surrounding Lizzie just get stranger and stranger.

At first I found the plot a bit confusing. The intro didn't seem to fit with the rest of the book, but as the story progressed I found myself completely engaged with the story. I didn't expect the ending -- a totally Fear Street appropriate ending! I listened to the audio version of this story. The audio is just over 5 hours and narrated by Brittany Pressley and Dan Bittner. They gave a great performance! Very entertaining listen.

Definitely an R. L. Stine Fear Street story! Loved it! Can't wait to watch the Netflix stories!
