Interesting premise - what happens when someone could be killed because of their allergies? A first in the series. this book sets the scene and tone. It was a good read and enjoyable. Wondering what comes next!?

I really tried to get interested in this mystery and although I finished the book it didn’t make me want to read any more about these characters. Dr. Noreen “Norrie” has survived her past as an overweight young woman, has lost the weight and feels good about her life as a family practice doctor. When one of her favorite patients dies from a known peanut allergy, the patients’ husband blames her for his wife’s death. She reunites with Deputy Travis Lawton, who she knew from school, to investigate the woman’s death. Their “lone wolf” investigation seemed absurd, especially on his part as an officer of the law. If you add her move back to the family home that is now haunted by the ghost of her father, well it all just seemed too unbelievable. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Dr. Noreen Marconi loses a patient to a fatal reaction to peanuts under mysterious circumstances. Sensing issues between her now-deceased friend and the husband, Norrie starts asking questions. Rx Murder begins a new cozy series by Nina Abbott. The author spends time establishing the cast of characters and the history and status of relationships. While the story moves slowly, the how of the crime is trickier to figure out than the who.

This book was sent to me by Netgalley on Kindle for review. It is character driven, a mystery, with hidden plots. Although this is not my favorite book, it had times when I wanted to know what would happen next. The story moves somewhat slowly, but it does end in a way one might. It expect.
