I was super excited to get my hands on the second book in the Dark Olympus series. I am greatly enjoying Katee Robert's new vision of Olympus. Here we get Psyche's story. Psyche has pissed off Aphrodite and she is now going to have to face off with Aphrodite's son Eros. Eros has been his mother's assassin for a long time, and has had no problem taking out his mother's competition. Then his mother sends him after Psyche and he just can't do it. He finds in Psyche a warmth he has never felt anywhere else.

The author did an excellent job introducing this new aspect to the Dark Olympus realm. Psyche and Eros are amazing characters that need each other. Their love story is moving and their sex scenes are hot. There is romantic times and some fast paced intrigue. This is a fast read because you will not be able to put it down.

I highly recommend this book!

I was provided a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review of the material.

I couldn't put this book down! I loved reading a new modern version of this myth and can't wait to read more by this author. This was the first book that I have read by her and appreciated the fact that even though it is part of a series it can still be read solo while understanding the whole story line. The characters were well developed and it was exciting to see them grow. I also LOVED the fact that Psyche was a plus sized girl who found someone to love her just the way she was. There need to be a lot more books like this out there for all the girls (like me) who don't fit society's norm for "beautiful".

Sorry for reviewing this super late, but I wanted to hop on and say I ADORED THIS BOOK!

Katee Robert does not disappoint in anything she writes. My favorite thing about ELECTRIC IDOL and Robert's other books is that she does not sacrifice values of feminism and consent in the name of being "sexy" and "high heat." Katee's books are super smutty and explicitly consensual! ;)

I will read literally anything Katee Robert writes and can't wait for the Dark Olympus series to continue. (I'm currently reading WICKED BEAUTY and dying from how great the read is!)

I wanted to like this book, but it just wasn't for me. I think I'll stay away from Katee Robert's books from now on.

When you anger a member of "the thirteen" and she send her son to end your life...what's a girl to do?
Marry him of course! With his mother livid and the two finding their footing, however will this fake marriage of convenience fare?

LOVED THIS BOOK. Psyche, my baby, my heart, firecracker of my soul. I enjoyed this so much.

First of all, if it's fake dating/ marriage of convenience, I'm absolutely going to get on board.

I thought Neon Gods was my favorite but PSYCHE? No, I was obsessed. Her quit wit, her tenacity, the slow burn between her and Eros from the FIRST CHAPTER? I needed nothing else.

The love + romance + partnership from this duo was everything my smutty heart needed. Everything.

Katee Robert knows how to write a book. I was intrigued from the moment i started until the moment it ended. I loved this book.

Enjoyed this foray back into a modern Olympus. Katee Robert has a knack for steam and storytelling - truly does include the mother-in-law from hell.

Fantastic addition to the series of Greek retellings. Katee Robert takes the loose framework of Greek mythology and sets the ball rolling in her own direction, making sure to flavor it with her many layers of hot *spice*. I really liked Eros and Psyche working together. While their relationship progression was in reality incredibly rushed, I was swept along for the ride and enjoyed it overall.

I didn't know how much I needed a mythological retelling with spice and a plus-sized heroine until I read this book. Obviously, we want to see more plus-sized rep in novels and this woman loves herself so well. Psyche is confident and lovely as a social media influencer raised in a prominent family in the modern city of Olympus. She comes face to face with the cutthroat, behind the scenes politics of Olympus, the seedy underbelly of their glittering world when Aphrodite takes out a hit on her. To be carried out by her own son, Eros. Is there a marriage of convenience (to protect Psyche)? Why, of course! Katee Robert has done it once again and created a spicy romance made for those who love mythology. Plus...the mirror scene....

I've enjoyed all the Katee Robert books I've read, and this one is no different. I haven't read all the Olympus books, but they stand alone enough to still enjoy. I'm a sucker for myth retellings, and she does it with such dark deliciousness. It's sexy to see characters who are confident in themselves surrendering to love, the give and the take. Psyche and Eros's story is scorching. You definitely don't want to miss it.

who doesn't love a good marriage of convenience !!

this was a great sequel to Neon Gods!! Loved the world building and all the political intrigue that comes in play.

This story between Eros and Psyche felt more character focus which honestly is probably my favorite thing to read. liked the insta-love and chemistry between these 2 just added to their relationship instead of ruining it.

*Queue Nicki Minaj* "No, I don't think you understand. I'm OBSESSED."

Like many readers, I thoroughly enjoyed NEON GODS, mostly because of the way Katee turned the Hades/Persephone story into a consensual love story. But my feelings for NEON GODS pale in comparison for ELECTRIC IDOL, the second book in the Dark Olympus series. (Side Note: I recently heard that Katee has 15 pairings planned for this series and my mind just about exploded)

Eros is a loveable sociopath (that's a phrase I never thought I'd use) with mommy issues - a little bit broken, but endearing nonetheless. Psyche is a a plus-size babe thrust into a marriage of convenience ala "he's supposed to kill her, but instead he marries her". From the moment they meet, their chemistry is off the charts! Naturally, their chemistry also translated to super spicy sex scenes, too (no surprise if you've read Katee Robert before). I especially liked how much of the story was rooted in the politics of Olympus. It definitely set up a lot more for future books and relationships (I can't wait!)

As a plus-size babe, I'm always looking for more positive plus-size rep in my romance reads and babes... THIS. IS. IT. 10/10 would recommend.

Katee does it again. I"m still on the fence of how much plot is in the book, but Katee knows how to write a spicy scene that you makes you want to keep turning the pages and not put the book down. I enjoyed being back in this NYC inspired Olympic world and continue to see side characters from book one bloom into full main characters and get to know them on a deeper level.

I absolutely loved Neon Gods and was so excited to receive an advanced eARC of Electric Idol. While I didn't love it quite as much as NG, I absolutely adored Eros and Psyche and the use of the marriage of convenience trope! Why kill a woman when you can marry her (and do a lot of other stuff, as well) instead?

It was steamy and bingeable and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

This series has been everything I didn't know I needed. It reads like really salacious fan fiction, but its super fun and creative and Steamy!

A great continuation of the series from Katee Robert. The world-building for this story is just as good if not better. For those that enjoyed Neon Gods you will not be disappointed.

Roberts always tells a great story, and while I enjoy this trend of modern mythology retellings, this book was more of a stretch than Neon Gods. That being said, I can't really say Eros' tale was one I ever paid attention to before, so props to expanding my interest in the pantheon.

Robert's writing not only draws you in from the get-go but has you caring enough to keep reading hours after bed time. This plot is a bit more of a stretch than the first in this series but the spicy chemistry of this marriage of convenience left me rooting for the newlyweds.

Electric Idol is the story of Psyche and Eros, the second in Katee Robert’s’ Dark Olympus series. It’s a steamy read, though not as out there as Neon Gods as far as kinks go. The main premise is figuring out how to outsmart their mothers who hate each other, and use them both as pawns. I enjoyed this one, and it was a quick read.

This steam installment of the Neon Gods series will have you begging for more. Psyche and Eros enter into a marriage to save each others lives and learn to love along the way.
