Some fantastic elements but it ended up getting so repetitive. They'd get into trouble, save themselves, profess their undying love. And then do it all over again. They both had SO MANY near death experiences that it became futile. The stakes are no longer existent when you know both of them are going to survive either way.
There was also no character depth or develop for anyone except the 2 protags, so once you got sick of them, it made it hard to continuing enjoying the story. That and there was so much telling. In the beginning I really liked them, but by the end I couldn't stand either of them.

Angel of Shadow is a good read about the struggle between good and evil and the struggle to use an inner power for greater things. Overall it’s a good read I enjoyed the characters and world building. And the cover art is awesome it was why I decided to read the book and I’m glad I did! I look forward to seeing how the story continues.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for allowing me to read this!
I was instantly intrigued by the synopsis of this book. This book instantly drew me in, I got to explore through the eyes of our main character and this is always my favorite way to discover these details of the story and, it was done very well in this book. I really enjoyed this book and the plot. This author did amazing. I loved the writing style.

Great for readers of Cassie Clare and her Shadowhunter world! This story is set with main character Kali who is part Nephilim and part demon. It is all about shadows, and adventure which could lead to world destruction. But Kali will not let her life lead to the destruction of millions of others.
This book was quite interesting and confusing at the same time. For me the books as kind of slow paced, however I enjoyed it, although I would have liked for pace of the book to be faster.

I haven't read the first book in this series, and although the recaps gives an indication of what happened in book one, I feel that it would be beneficial to read book one to get a full understanding of this intriguing world.
Tiamat and Kali are from different spectrums. He is a Nephillim. She is half demon. He has one mission. This mission is the destruction of humans. Somehow he falls for Kali and finds that his compulsive mission has no appeal. She struggles to come to terms with her other side. She doesn't revel in the evil that comes with it. Will she eventually have to give into her demon?
It's very descriptive, and action packed. The loyalty and love are unconditional, but there is a war coming. A war between good and evil. Even though some of the content is lengthy and repetive, it's captivating. The decision made at the end leaves the reader guessing.
I received an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

This might contain spoilers.
Like with the first book, the story felt kind of slow at the beginning even if the reader is immediately plunged into a semi-active scene. But as the tension builds and the story progressed it got more and more interesting and difficult to put down. The action-packed scenes broken up with the lull of the everyday fanfare were so enthralling, I was left wondering "what will happen next?" very often and I found myself on the edge of my seat many times because of it.
The characters are well developed and interesting, they won't bore you for sure. The main characters, Kali and Tiamat, are the epitome of star-crossed lovers which is absolutely heartwrenching. Honestly, these poor souls, there's always something getting in their way namely the shadows in this sequel to Wormwood.
The way it ended gave me the feeling that something big is coming in the third book of this trilogy and I look forward to seeing how D. H. Nevins ends this interesting story.
